Any trade agreement signed with other countries will not affect Malaysia’s longstanding and sincere relationship with Beijing, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said Malaysia would continue to champion cooperation with China, Asean and the global community to spur innovation, attract investment, and create opportunities for the Malaysian people.
00:00It unites the people who can transform ideas into industries.
00:17The investors, innovators, business leaders, and strategic networks
00:24who are here with us today.
00:26And the message we must deliver today is simple.
00:31Malaysia, China, and even ASEAN China are already moving forward together.
00:36The question now is not to whether we can grow, but how boldly we choose to act.
00:44What matters is how fast we move, how strategic we are,
00:49and how well we turn partnership into real prosperity for our people.
00:56Over the past two years, I have traveled to China several times.
01:03Three of them as official visit.
01:07And each visit strengthened one clear conviction.
01:11Our partnership is real, practical, and filled with promise.
01:16Even with durian musangking, durian diplomacy.
01:22We were discussing just now before we entered this hall.
01:26Durian diplomacy is not just diplomacy.
01:29It's durian business.
01:31We have to collaborate with Chinese businessmen to grow more plantation of durian musangking in Malaysia.
01:38As suggested by Tansri Lee Kim Yook, we should work together to drown, to downstream the industry of durian.
01:50In Shanghai, I attended MIHA's Malaysian halal industry, showcased at Shanghai.
02:03Malaysian companies achieved remarkable results, delivering about 3.2 billion in sales within five days,
02:16far exceeding the original target of 2.5 billion ringgit.
02:20As Malaysia's transition is partnership with China, we must also prepare for the forces that will shape the next decade of ASEAN growth.
02:31First, the digital economy.
02:34Artificial intelligence, big data, cloud system, fintech, and smart cities are already transforming how companies operate.
02:43Malaysia is upgrading connectivity, strengthening digital skills, and helping SME scale beyond our borders.
02:54China's leadership in e-commerce, digital payment, and smart infrastructure offers valuable avenues for joint ventures.
03:04Technology, technology, and knowledge transfer, besides technology transfer and investment that can accelerate our progress.
03:16Second, the green transition.
03:21The global push for renewable energy, sustainable manufacturing, and clean mobility is unavoidable.
03:30Malaysia welcomes deeper cooperation with China.
03:34Other countries, also collaborating with them, with us, in solar technology, electric mobility, green manufacturing, and smart agriculture,
03:49including the plantation of Musang King Dorian.
03:55Ladies and gentlemen, the partnerships.
03:58This partnership, Malaysia and China, ASEAN and China, will open new industries, create new jobs, and make ASEAN economy more resilient.
04:11But to fully benefit from both digital and green growth, we must activate the third engine, the global Chinese diaspora.
04:21As mentioned by Dr. Sri Kasyong, a community whose network capital and ASEAN link ASEAN to the rest of the world.
04:36Thus, to move forward, Malaysia proposes two clear-focus areas.
04:41First, expanding talent mobility, giving Malaysia and ASEAN use better access to internship, industrial trading, and TBED collaboration with leading Chinese institutions.
04:56Secondly, strengthening supply chain resilience, leveraging the SPORA network to diversify sourcing, open new logistic corridors, and fully utilize, resept, and upgrade ACFTA 3.0.
05:15This is how Malaysia sees the next curve of ASEAN-China cooperation, powered not only by government, but by innovators, entrepreneurs, and youth across our region.
05:34In a world that is changing by the day, partnership is our strongest asset.
05:40Now, Malaysia will continue to champion collaboration with China.
05:48Ambassador Yang, don't worry about any agreement signed with any countries, but our sincerity relationship with China will sustain, will endure forever.
06:12Our collaboration with China, our collaboration with China, and as I suggested the global diaspora, to spark innovation, attract investment, and open doors for our people.
06:27Because when ASEAN and China grow together, everyone wins, our youth, our businesses, and our communities.
06:39And together, we will shape a future that is more prosperous, more stable, and more inclusive for all.
06:57Again, our gridlocked information, our sponsors, the espionage of China, and China are the big name, the government, the government, and the company.
