00:00Welcome the fact that the Deputy Prime Minister has referred herself to the
00:04ethics adviser. She has admitted she underpaid tax so why is she still in
00:10office? In relation to the Deputy Prime Minister she has explained her personal
00:14circumstances in detail. She's gone over and above in setting out the details
00:19including Mr. Speaker yesterday afternoon asking a court to
00:25lift a confidentiality order in relation to her own son. I know from speaking at
00:31length the Deputy Prime Minister just how difficult that decision was for her and
00:35her family but she did it she did it to ensure that all information is in the
00:40public domain she has now referred herself to the independent adviser that is the
00:45right thing to do but I can be clear I am very proud to sit alongside a Deputy
00:49Prime Minister who is building 1.5 million homes who is bringing the biggest
00:54upgrade to workers rights from a generation and who's come from a
00:58working-class background to be Deputy Prime Minister of this country. Mr. Speaker I'm
01:03not sure we would have heard all that sympathy if it was a Conservative Deputy
01:06Prime Minister. I remember when the Prime Minister said the tax evasion is a
01:11criminal offence and should be treated as all other fraud. If he had a backbone he
01:16would sack her.
