00:00Another busy, busy, busy, very busy transfer deadline day in Scotland this year.

00:06Starting off with Celtic, Ben, it was, I mean, if you're a Celtic fan,

00:10it's got to be a deeply infuriating transfer window,

00:14and if you're not a Celtic fan, you're kind of watching on in disbelief,

00:18probably much as the Celtic fans were, in fact, at what was happening before your eyes.

00:22Yeah, me and Lewis were sort of in the same building working together on deadline day,

00:28and the longer it went on, you're kind of thinking, no, they'll sign a striker,

00:32they'll sign somebody, and you kept saying that up until about 9 o'clock,

00:36where it became very apparent that there was the potential they weren't.

00:40Just that it summed up a pretty shambolic window overall for Celtic.

00:44It's probably the worst window they've had in recent memory,

00:47which is quite mad, considering they signed Ciaran Tierney for free at the start of it,

00:50a guy they sold for £25 million.

00:53They've made 10 signings, I think, overall,

00:55very few of which actually strengthened the first team.

01:00I mean, I think the confused, muddled approach to it is kind of summed up by Hayato Inamura,

01:05who signed, was told he wasn't good enough to play for Celtic in the here and now,

01:10played three days later against Livingston, and hasn't been seen since.

01:14Very peculiar business.

01:17A lot of project signings when there was a club hoarding cash,

01:21they're not short on it on a penny or two at the minute.

01:26And, yeah, the objective for every window for every club is to go into it stronger than you come out of it.

01:33Celtic, again, have come out weaker.

01:35As we sit here and record this just now, they've been linked with Kelechi,

01:38Ian Acho as a free agent,

01:40a guy who rejected them for Middlesbrough in January,

01:43and then went on to score one goal in 15 games.

01:46It's very much just a Brendan Rodgers, who can we get at the sixth or seventh choice option,

01:51having worked with him at Leicester.

01:53Perhaps most embarrassingly on deadline day,

01:55there was reports that they'd been rejected by Chelsea striker for Fana,

01:59for Charlton Athletic.

02:01So it was licked custard pie after custard pie for them.

02:07And they've been left now with Adam Eda sanctioned as we record this.

02:11He's went to Swansea, so as we record this at the minute,

02:13that could change what Ian Acho, but currently Celtic are going into the first half of the season

02:18with Shin Yamada and Johnny Kenny as their striker options,

02:21which is absolutely baffling.

02:24So I think there'll be a lot of questions asked of Paul Tisdale,

02:27who's come in as head of football operations,

02:29seen as the football doctor,

02:32but the only thing you could diagnose Celtic with is a bluntness in attack

02:35and a very, very inhospitable forward line that is already,

02:41you know, we're going into 2025 and James Forrest is the only recognised right winner

02:45at Celtic Football Club.

02:46It is quite mad that they have managed to find themselves in this situation,

02:51but not only find themselves in this situation through bad fortune,

02:54they've found themselves in this situation purely by mismanagement

02:58and it's all been self-inflicted.

02:59And briefly on Kelechi and Achille-Lewis,

03:01what do we make of him as a potential Celtic sign?

03:04A player with an obvious pedigree,

03:06but the past few years have clearly not worked out too well for him.

03:12A player that Brendan Rodgers knows he has the potential to do well in Scotland,

03:16but his career definitely seems like it's on the downturn at the moment.

03:20Yeah, it does, doesn't it?

03:21I think he only played a handful of games for Sevilla as well,

03:25but I do think the potential is still there.

03:28Obviously, you touched on it, Brendan Rodgers has worked with Ian Achille

03:30before he knows how to get the best out of him.

03:33My concern would be the fact that he's already on the back foot,

03:39given that he turned down a move to Celtic late in the January window

03:42in favour of Middlesbrough.

03:44Obviously, one goal at Middlesbrough during his loan spell there

03:48didn't exactly set the header alight, did he?

03:52So, yeah, time will tell, I guess.

03:54I think it's probably inevitable that that deal will be done

03:58over the next couple of days.

04:01You'd imagine they'll be desperate to get him in

04:04and kind of up to speed as quickly as possible over the international break

04:07because, by all accounts,

04:11I don't think he's probably looking quite the fittest at this moment in time,

04:17if it's fair to say.

04:18But I think they've done a massive favour

04:22with, obviously, Sevilla deciding to release him late in the window.

04:26That's certainly removed a big stumbling block for Celtic.
