00:00Hello and welcome to the Scotsman's Saturday morning transfer bulletin, as things begin
00:06to move in the transfer window for a number of clubs. We've got news from Rangers, Celtic,
00:11Hearts and Hibs and more in today's bulletin, but let's start with Celtic, who confirmed
00:16their third signing of the summer on Friday afternoon. Brendan Rodgers has already brought
00:21in Scotland international, Kieran Tierney, and he's also added Benjamin Nygren to that
00:25now alongside Ross Dewan, who he brought in on a free transfer from Aberdeen just last
00:31week. But the move of Nygren, who came in from Nordjusland for a fee of just £1.2 million,
00:36has been described as a bargain. The right wing is still quite young, but he's already racked
00:41up a load of experience. He's played in Europe. He's been loaded as a player with enormous potential
00:47after being an 18-year-old with his hometown club Elsborg in Sweden. He was Genk's record
00:52signing at €5 million or €5 million shortly afterwards, but it's been Nordjusland where
00:57he's really flourished. He's made his mark at international level as well, scoring for
01:01Sweden, I think twice in three games. So he's starting to make an impact there, but he had
01:06just six months left on his deal at Nordjusland and Celtic have done really well to sweep him
01:11and get him for just a fee of, I think, £1.2 million is the rumoured fee, which is obviously
01:16fantastic business for a player who's an emerging talent and still really young, 23, I believe.
01:22Whether or not this means his arrival would push out Niklas Kuhn, because there's been
01:26a lot of rumours to RB Leipzig, the English Premier League, I think Newcastle linked to
01:30him around a fortnight ago. That's another thing entirely. But look, the good news is that
01:35Celtic have picked up a really exciting young player at an almost risk-free price. If that
01:41then means they make money from Niklas Kuhn later on down the line and can reinvest that
01:46with other positions, other players, then fair enough. Staying with Celtic slightly, their
01:52former player, Kyogote Furuahashi, has been linked with a cut-price move to Birmingham City.
01:57He's had an absolute nightmare at Rennes since he's gone in January. £10 million he left Celtic
02:02for just after the game against Young Boys in the Champions League. He scored 85 goals in
02:07three and a half seasons for Celtic, but started just six games, I believe, for Rennes or Pietras
02:12six times, yet to find the target and they're desperate to get rid of him, according to reports
02:17and Birmingham are ready to take him off their hands. At £5 million, I think a bit of a bargain
02:23most Celtic fans would feel. There's been really, really loose links with a return, but for some
02:27reason I just don't see that one happening and I think a move to Birmingham maybe makes sense
02:31as surprising as it may be. Looking at Rangers, moving across Glasgow, you've got Max Aarons
02:36has completed that loan deal earlier in the window, sorry, earlier in the week. He becomes
02:40the first signing of the Russell Martin era, but the Ibrox outgoings really are the talk
02:45of the day. Hamza Igamane, Serial Dessas and Nicholas Raskin have all been linked with moves
02:49away. Of course, I think Serial Dessas the other day was linked with a move to PAOK and
02:55it was rumoured that they were looking to get that deal done this week, but there's been
02:59no movement at the time of speaking. Nothing's come out regarding that, regarding his move
03:03and the last thing we heard from Russell Martin was that he was looking forward to working
03:07with them as of Monday when they returned to pre-season training. But Igamane is a little
03:12bit different. It appears to be the most concrete sort of set of transfer news rumours, if you
03:17prefer, regarding the outgoings. Reports in Belgium said that he had agreed personal terms
03:23on a three-year deal with Lille in Ligue 1 and that the two clubs were locked in discussions
03:29over a deal for him. But since that came out, nothing's changed. Rangers have four years
03:36left to run on his current deal, so they do hold all the cards. I don't think if he does
03:41go, he's going to go cheaply. There's been rumours of a £20 million price tag put on his
03:46head. But Marseille are also interested, which makes it interesting. Potential bidding war in
03:53one sense. If he doesn't go, Rangers have a really good player on their hands with a lot
03:57of talent. So that's one that's going to rumble on for a couple more weeks, I feel. There's
04:01obviously a lot more to do in that regarding the move to Lille. They've still got to agree
04:06on a price, whether he's agreed personal terms or not, as per the reports. So that one will
04:11rumble on, I'm sure. And Rangers, of course, will want to be bringing players in the door
04:14at the same time. And if they do receive a fee of £15-20 million for a striker, that does
04:19benefit them. Apparently there's already a war chest of around £20 million from the
04:23new owners there anyway. So exciting times for Rangers, but also uncertain in many ways
04:28in regards to some of their players leaving. As for Hibs, Nathan Mariah Welsh has completed
04:32a move to Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee. He was a really handy servant to David Gradeside
04:37last year. He played 17 times as they secured that third place in that fantastic second half
04:42of the season. But I think you naturally want to play more regular football and Nigel Clough
04:47can offer him that in Ligue 1. And he's agreed a deal where he has joined the Stags.
04:52On incomings, Josh Mulligan's completed his surprise move to Easter Road from Dundee on
04:56a free transfer, although there'll be a fee to be paid due in compensation due to his age
05:01and the fact that he came to their academy system. The young right-back was heavily linked
05:06to Rangers around April to May time. But Hibs, out of nowhere, really seemed to have stolen
05:11him from under the noses of Rangers. And he's going to add strong competition to Hibs as
05:16they look to secure another top three finish. There's still no more news on Nectar Triantis's
05:22move to Hibs from Sunderland. Massive success last season for Hibs. There's rumours that Sunderland
05:29are looking for a £1 million fee to make that move permanent. But as it stands, I think Triantis
05:34has a few offers on the table if he is to leave Sunderland and may consider wanting to stay
05:39at Sunderland and maybe live out his dream of playing in the Premier League. But again, another
05:43one that's just going to rumble on throughout the summer. Finally, Livingston have confirmed
05:48the return of Macaulay Tate on a season-long loan. He has joined again from Hearts. I think
05:53the 19-year-old played 23 times at Libby last season as they were promoted back to the Scottish
05:58Premiership. And Hearts say he'll continue his progression at Armandville next season where
06:02he'll be able to get a lot more exposure to the Scottish Premiership. In terms of the transfer
06:08moves, look, that's not going to be the end of it. This could change the next minute that
06:11this gets put out, the next hour. As we know, it's all full of twists and turns in the Scottish
06:15transfer window, especially with Rangers' takeover and Celtic trying to keep ahead of the pack
06:20as they have been for the past four seasons. So keep an eye on thescotsman.com or sign up
