00:01Hi, welcome back to Easter Road, just after Sunday's game where we can talk about the game.
00:06But I think first we have to talk about transfer news and David Gray confirming that there's been a bid for Eli Yuan.
00:14I think if you read your evening news you would know over a week ago, I think, that we'd reported that Legia Warsaw,
00:21Hib's UEFA Conference League opponents and conquerors were interested in the French attacker.
00:26I'd taken a phone call from someone over in Poland who was asking about it and saying, look, what would Hib's take?
00:33Realistically, we discussed, I don't know why he was asking me, he's an expert, but transfer market value,
00:39we're talking about a million euros, but I don't think Legia we're going to go that far.
00:45David Gray's very clear that if it comes to fruition, and wish Eli all the best,
00:50I think most people would agree that overall, he's done a lot for Hib's.
00:58Scenes at Tynecastle last year in particular, particularly enjoyable for Hib's fans.
01:05But it probably makes sense for him to move on, given the profile, the way the team plays at the moment,
01:10and what David Gray's looking for up front, which brings us to what he's looking for tomorrow, on Deadline Day,
01:17which is a Linden Dykes-style forward.
01:23Maybe like Linden Dykes.
01:26There's that story, isn't there, of somebody in a band in Manchester advertising for a Johnny Marr-style guitarist,
01:31and Johnny Marr turned up.
01:32So, I think that's the situation where, listen, the Dykes thing makes so much sense,
01:37and this is terrible because we're applying logic to football, you don't always want to do that,
01:41but it makes so much sense, you would think, it just has to happen.
01:46It makes sense for him to come up here and enjoy Grant Hanley,
01:50and compete with Kieran Bowie for game time, which is going to become important,
01:55as Scotland head into their international break,
01:58and heading into the World Cup, he wants to play in that.
02:03So, that could be Yuan out, Dykes in would be a good start to Deadline Day, I think.
02:09Then you may get a midfielder, you might get a wing-back, I don't know.
02:13We'll see how the day pans out.
02:15There's always the potential for that Oh My signing,
02:20which is, oh, I didn't know he was going to be available.
02:23We'll get him in.
02:25Hib's head into the international break on the back of a draw.
02:28I wish we didn't have to talk about it, but
02:30offside, handball and VAR.
02:33So, offside, when is a player interfering with play,
02:37when is he not interfering with play?
02:38The old adage, if you're not interfering with play,
02:40what are you doing on the pitch?
02:41It certainly looks as if at least two St. Mirren players might be offside,
02:47one in the keeper's eye line, one blocking a defender.
02:50Length of the AR check, couldn't decide it and just gave the goal.
02:55The late handball offence,
02:57the ball was definitely played against the St. Jadon Richardson hand.
03:01On a personal level, I would not like to see those given for handball.
03:06I just don't think they should be given as handball and penalties.
03:08But they are all the time.
03:11They are consistently given as penalty offences.
03:15And this one wasn't.
03:16So, you can see why David Gray, in a very, very respectful way,
03:19he's not shouting and screaming.
03:21He's not going to get banned or fined.
03:22He's just asking, look, I'd like to know why the goal was a goal,
03:25why that one wasn't going to be a penalty.
03:27He's not having to pick up the phone to Willie Callum
03:29because he said, Willie's always very open anyway.
03:31They explain what was going on.
03:35The SFA had been very open with explaining their decisions.
03:39So, I think it's just, it's baffling, isn't it?
03:41I mean, we've seen it down in England.
03:43We've seen it, you know, people are talking about a sterilised game.
03:46They're talking about a game where,
03:48after multiple replays, slowing things down,
03:52still getting the wrong decision in a lot of people's minds,
03:55it's never going to be infallible.
03:57But I think it's only right that we demand better of it.
04:00So, heading into the national break,
04:02I hope you'll decompress a little bit,
04:06but first we've got to get through the next 24, 28 hours,
04:09or whatever it is, until the deadline.
04:13Interesting times.
04:14Keep checking the evening news.
04:15We shall do our very best to cover everything that happens.
