00:00We're fast approaching transfer deadline day in Scotland.

00:03Martin Simpson, sports editor from the Edinburgh Evening News here, alongside Ben Banks.

00:08We're going to be discussing the business we expect Hearts to do in the coming days.

00:12Ben, Hearts have obviously been massively busy in the transfer window already.

00:18We're still expecting a few incomings.

00:21Probably we're going to expect quite a few outgoings given the size of the squad.

00:25Start with the incomings. I think it's been pretty well documented.

00:28Goalkeeper, top of their priority list.

00:31Craig Gordon's out injured. We don't know how long for,

00:35but we don't think he's going to be back any time in the next few months.

00:38Ryan Fulton's out injured as well.

00:41Xander Clark has not had the best start to the season so far.

00:45So it looks like they might be in the market for a new first-choice stopper.

00:50Yeah, goalkeeper does seem to be the one position they're looking at.

00:56It's an interesting situation with the goalkeeper as well.

00:58I mean, if you look at it a bit longer term,

01:00obviously Ryan Fulton's injured as well.

01:02I've recalled Liam McFarlane from his loan at Alloa.

01:06But once everybody's fully fit,

01:08I would imagine you're going to see all of these guys back fit

01:11in the first half of the season.

01:13The loan window for SPFL called below the Premiership

01:16shuts at the end of September.

01:18But if they don't get goalkeepers out of hearts as well before that,

01:23you're then looking at six senior goalkeepers, really.

01:27I know Harry Stone and Liam McFarlane are kind of classed as youngsters,

01:30but they have played senior football in the last couple of seasons.

01:34And then you're going to be left with Craig Gordon, Xander Clark,

01:37Ryan Fulton, a new goalkeeper, whoever that is.

01:39Liam McFarlane, who's just signed a new deal to 2020.

01:43And Harry Stone, Chuck Jamie MacDonald in there,

01:45if you want to as well for a laugh.

01:47Then you're potentially looking at six goalkeepers in and around that squad.

01:52So I can see why they want a goalkeeper for now.

01:57I asked Eric McInnes about it in terms of what do you do at that stage

02:02if you do get everybody back fit.

02:04By the time November comes, you're then, you know,

02:06it's a one-person position and you have six options in it.

02:11That's going to be quite, I would imagine,

02:12a challenge to deal with in terms of playing time and whatnot.

02:15But yeah, the goalkeepers certainly in the meantime,

02:19they do need to strengthen in that department.

02:21Craig Gordon won't be back for the next, you know,

02:23it's been a bit unknown.

02:25It's still a bit unknown when he's going to be back.

02:27Ryan Fulton will be out for a couple of months.

02:29And yeah, Xander Clark.

02:32Performances maybe criticised a wee bit in the first part of the season.

02:37Called up to the Scotland squad, which I think will be a boost for him.

02:40You would imagine with the goalkeepers that have been called up for Scotland,

02:43he'd actually probably have a chance to play as well,

02:46given the lack of options for Scotland there.

02:48But in terms of hearts, yeah, it does seem like this is going to be one area

02:52that in some shape or form is going to have a new look about it

02:56coming maybe Tuesday morning.
