00:00Arsenal are into the new Premier League season and they're determined to get their priorities right
00:08and continue their pursuit of silverware under Mikel Arteta.
00:13The Gunners' summer has been carefully managed with Arteta focused on strengthening areas
00:18that could make the difference in both domestic and European competitions.
00:24Balancing the integration of new signings with the development of existing talent will be crucial
00:29if Arsenal are to maintain momentum and compete on multiple fronts.
00:34For Arteta, the challenge is ensuring the squad stays focused and hungry
00:39while navigating the pressures of high expectations at the Emirates.
00:44Every decision from rotation to tactics could influence their bid for another trophy.
00:50For more insight into Arsenal's plans, we spoke to Jacobella of London World
00:54who believes that while the club is taking a measured approach,
00:57there's confidence that Arteta's methodical strategy could position the Gunners
01:03to succeed across all competitions throughout the season.
01:09And just on Arsenal in terms of maybe, do you feel there could be a bit of a mentality shift?
01:15This time off could be used to address those issues?
01:18You know, they've had some very, very poor nights.
01:20You know, the FA Cup game at home against Man United, the League Cup loss against Newcastle at home.
01:27These are games where you just feel that the Arsenal need to start getting over the line in
01:31to really make sure they are competing in more finals moving forward.
01:35And then you obviously have the whole debate with the results that the Etihad over the last few years
01:41and how Arsenal have been celebrating draws.
01:43I mean, to bridge that gap to become champions, you don't want to celebrate draws.
01:47You want to make sure you do go to these places and get wins.
01:50You need to just sort of, do you feel that needs to be the mentality shift this year?
01:54And Arteta might need to just sort of let the reins go a bit
01:58and go and get these massive wins at Anfield, at the Etihad, at Stamford Bridge, for example.
02:04These big places you've got to go as champions.
02:07You do expect them to go and win.
02:09Yeah, no. I mean, well, we saw in the Amazon documentary a few seasons ago
02:15that when Arteta loses a duel, he's very upset, isn't he?
02:18So I have no doubt that he will be coming back with a real kind of maybe like a vengeful attitude, really.
02:27I think Arsenal will look at last season as a, not a missed opportunity,
02:34but they would have wanted to be the team that would have capitalised when City weren't at it.
02:39And I think the two seasons previous, Arsenal had came very close to winning the league in Haddon
02:47and were pipped by City.
02:49And I think maybe last season that took a bit of a mental toll on them.
02:52I think because they weren't really close last season,
02:58this season might just be about coming back with a bit more anger and a bit more purpose.
03:04Hopefully that anger doesn't result in any more red cards.
03:07But I have no doubt that they will come back fighting this season.
03:12And I think, yes, we haven't announced those signings, made those signings yet.
03:17But I think, you know, the players that we've even been linked with in the talks
03:21does seem like the club want to do something more than they did last summer.
03:26Last summer, the links weren't even there, which was slightly worrying.
03:30So I'm hoping that Arsenal, with the signings they make and that kind of, you know, mentality,
03:36that Arteta, I think, does bring, will help Arsenal get over the line next season.
03:43But it's, yeah, it's going to be a tough one.
03:46I think it's important to mention, yes, Arsenal shouldn't celebrate draws
03:49against these big teams now, for sure.
03:52But Arsenal are, I forget the exact statistics now,
03:57but they are unbeaten against the top six.
04:00You know, I think it's like two or three seasons.
04:03And that is a big achievement.
04:04You know, Arsenal, where they've really, you know, let themselves down last season,
04:10is dropping points to the smaller teams that they couldn't break down that low block.
04:15And that's what they really need to work on, in my opinion, next season.
04:18But, you know, still, I don't mind drawing against those big teams.
04:21Where Arsenal really need to improve upon is not dropping points to the smaller teams.
04:27You know, no offence to the likes of Brighton and Fulham,
04:30but, you know, those games are the games we really need to make sure that Arsenal are winning.
04:35And then, yeah, of course, beating the big teams as well at Anfield and at the Etihad would be incredible as well.
