00:21But the challenge remains, what's still missing for Arsenal to finally get over the line.

00:30Key injuries at pivotal stages last season exposed the limitations of a squad
00:34that, while talented, lack the reinforcement needed to sustain momentum across a demanding calendar.
00:41If the Gunners are to fight on multiple fronts, the Premier League and Champions League,
00:47they must build a group capable of enduring the full stretch of a season.
00:51This is not about tearing things up, but fine-tuning what already works.
00:56Smart additions, particularly in midfield and attack, could be decisive in turning consistency into dominance.
01:04We spoke with Jacobello of London World to break down where Arsenal are focusing their efforts,
01:10how the club views its current trajectory and whether this group is now ready to take the final step
01:16in their pursuit of the Premier League crown.
01:18So, Jack, in terms of Arsenal and obviously the big question, let's just get straight into it
01:26in terms of how they bridge that gap.
01:29Obviously, they've been so close over the last few seasons with Mikel Arteta.
01:32We've mentioned before how the pressure could be mounting,
01:35but it feels like maybe they just need that ideal season where the pressure isn't on them.
01:41Man City, Liverpool, they're going to be spending big again.
01:44They've made some statement signings already early on in this window.
01:46So, Arsenal seem to be, you know, on the contrary of that, a bit more quieter as well.
01:52But, you know, Arsenal's core of the side, their talent is unbelievable.
01:56It just maybe feels like they don't need that pressure on them to go and deliver.
02:00Maybe they don't want to be sort of top at Christmas and, you know,
02:03all the media attention is on them returning this title.
02:06How do you feel you go into this season and make sure that they are trying to bridge that gap?
02:13What are the sort of steps that, you know, the smaller steps that Arteta's side need to take towards doing that?
02:20Yeah, so a really good point that you make, actually, about there potentially being a little less external pressure.
02:26Now that Liverpool have come and won, no one was really expecting that last season.
02:31And maybe that will take some of the pressure off the players.
02:34I think within the squad and definitely in the hierarchy of Arsenal,
02:38they will still feel the pressure now to get that trophy, that major trophy,
02:44whether that's the Premier League or the Champions League.
02:46And there'll be pressure from the fans as well now.
02:49You know, we've been getting so close for so long that the fans definitely will want some silverware,
02:55some major silverware.
02:56But it is a good point that maybe the pressure from the media outside might be a little bit less
03:03now that Liverpool are showing signs they won the Premier League last year.
03:08And Man City have also been very active in the transfer market.
03:13Maybe that will take a little bit of the weight off their shoulders.
03:16And could help them.
03:18But I think really, there's a few things Arsenal need to do to bridge the gap.
03:23I think Arsenal are very lucky that they've got a core group and they've had a core group for a while.
03:29They're not really a club that have had to sell players.
03:33You know, this is a group that are kind of just building, really.
03:38I think Arsenal fans weren't particularly happy with the transfer window last summer.
03:43And maybe felt that not enough quality was added.
03:47I think even Arteta might admit now that not enough creativity or a striker, which I'm sure we'll get on to soon for this summer,
03:57but wasn't added last year.
04:00And I think fans were a bit frustrated with that.
04:04And so there's a few things.
04:06The first thing, as I mentioned, this core group staying together.
04:09Injuries were a massive thing for Arsenal last year.
04:13It's not an excuse for them not winning anything, but the squad was short.
04:18And when we lost players like Saka without a replacement, having Raheem Sterling coming in to replace him,
04:23Erligard was out for about eight weeks.
04:26Gabriel, you know, missed the whole of the kind of second half of that run in.
04:33And I think Arsenal fans were it was a bit of a slow start, but it looks like Arsenal being linked with some attackers now.
04:41And that's quite exciting.
