Farmer experiments with carp compost to grow healthier crops

Robbie is trialling carp caught at the Canowindra Carp Muster, turning them into liquid fertiliser to test on his crops.

00:00We've put carp in a barrel with microbes, trying to break them down and make some liquid fish

00:04fertiliser which we'll spray on some crops or something later on and see what we can do.

00:11So how long has that been in a barrel for now?

00:13I see it's all soft now, I mean, see that? Just falling to pieces.

00:20I don't know, it'd be three weeks, wouldn't it? Or more than nearly four weeks, would it?

00:23Carp might be a bit hard to get at times, but yeah, we'll just, we might use kangaroos if the kangaroo

00:31works or pigs or anything like that, if it works.

00:34Awesome, and what does it works mean to you?

00:37Well, you'll notice the difference in the green colour of the crop, I suppose.
