A school community in Geelong is reeling after a bus rolled over yesterday, killing one student and injuring at least nine others.

00:00Police say a bus carrying 28 students from Christian College Geelong, all primary and
00:07secondary aged, failed to navigate a left-hand turn about 10 kilometres from the city centre
00:13here. It hit a rail and rolled. One student died at the scene and two others have been
00:17taken to Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne for treatment. A total of eight students spent
00:22the night here at University Hospital in Geelong. They're all in a stable condition and six
00:27others received treatment before being discharged along with the 67-year-old bus driver. He's
00:33assisting police with their inquiries. Yesterday the school principal said this was understandably
00:39an incredibly challenging time for the school and said that it was supporting all the families
00:44impacted by this tragedy. Premier Jacinta Allen also spoke and has said that the state government will
00:50be providing psychological support to the school and the wider community here. Richard Marls,
00:56the deputy prime minister, is the federal member here and he also has expressed his sympathies.
