The Israeli army has launched a prolonged raid on Ramallah and el-Bireh in the occupied West Bank as it continues to relentlessly pound Gaza, and the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reports that at least 58 Palestinians have been wounded. Those injured on Tuesday included a child hit by live fire. The Palestinian Ministry of Health said the 13-year-old underwent surgery after being wounded in the abdomen. Witnesses said Israeli forces stormed a currency exchange shop in an area between Ramallah and el-Bireh, detaining at least three Palestinians while Israeli snipers positioned themselves on rooftops and soldiers stormed the central vegetable market area.
Al Jazeera’s Lina Abu Akleh reports.

00:00Using tear gas and sound bombs, this is how the Israeli military stormed the city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
00:10A busy area with markets, shops and schools.
00:16Even a barber shop where people had sought refuge came under attack.
00:23The military targeted foreign exchange businesses, accusing them of supporting Palestinian armed groups.
00:32The brutal Israeli occupation persistently continues to terrorize the Palestinian people.
00:39Today is yet another raid under false and frail pretexts, as usual, simply to abuse our people.
00:47It's not the first time currency exchange shops have been raided.
00:54Since December 2023, Israeli forces have confiscated nearly $6 million from these businesses.
01:02The excuse usually given by Israeli occupation forces is that those, in particular, those exchange businesses are linked to transferring money to terrorist organizations.
01:14That's how they refer to. But I think it's also important to remember that under Israeli military laws,
01:20pretty much every Palestinian organization, including human rights organizations and student groups,
01:25are considered to be terrorist organizations.
01:27More than 50 people were injured during the hours-long military operation.
01:34Israeli soldiers also forced media crews away from the scene, despite identifying themselves as journalists.
01:47But even then, Israeli soldiers fired shots in their direction.
01:52There is, again, no consequences because no one is asking, no one is imposing, no one is holding them accountable for their action on the ground.
02:04But it's not just the daily military raids Palestinians are suffering under.
02:09It's the daily arrests, home demolitions, illegal settlement expansions and repeated settler attacks.
02:16Palestinians say all these actions are aimed at deliberately making life unbearable for them.
02:25And since the war on Gaza began, there's been a surge in Israeli military assault and settler attacks across the occupied West Bank.
02:34Once again, displacing tens of thousands of families from their homes.
