Israeli jets have bombed the Yemeni capital Sanaa, the Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV and Israeli outlets report, as tensions in the region continue to escalate amid Israel’s war on Gaza. Al Masirah said the attack on Sunday targeted an oil processing plant and a power station in Sanaa. There were not immediate reports of confirmed casualties. Israel’s Channel 12 reported that the targets also included a presidential complex in Sanaa. The Israeli strikes came two days after the Houthis claimed a missile launch against Israel – part of a campaign that the Yemeni group says aims to pressure Israel to end its atrocities and siege in Gaza. The Houthis were quick to reiterate on Sunday that the Israeli attacks would not deter the group’s military operations in support of Palestinians.
Al Jazeera’s Hamdah Salhut reports from Amman, Jordan.

00:00Israel's military has carried out airstrikes on Yemen's capital.
00:03Fighter jets targeted fuel depots and a power station in Sana'a.
00:08Israel also attacked the compound housing the presidential palace.
00:12Israel has repeatedly attacked what it claims are sites used by Houthi fighters.
00:16That is, in response to Houthi attacks targeting Israel.
00:20Well, Hamda Salhut is in the Jordanian capital, Amman, reporting on this.
00:23And you're there, Hamda, because the Israeli government has banned Al Jazeera from reporting inside Israel.
00:28What are you learning about this attack and specifically what Israel is saying about it?
00:36Well, the Israeli military has now confirmed that they did, in fact, carry out a series of airstrikes in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a,
00:44dropping about 30 different munitions across this area where they say they targeted a compound in which the presidential palace was.
00:53They also targeted power stations.
00:56There were around a dozen planes from the Israeli air force used in this attack, along with refuelers.
01:02And the military says that it's in response to continued attacks that the Houthis have been carrying out against Israel.
01:08Hamda, so far, and it's quite remarkable, Israel has failed to put an end to attacks from Houthis in Yemen.
01:15And they've been going on for a very long time.
01:17Can you give us some context around this?
01:18Look, this is one of the most controversial things in Israel, that how the Houthis are still able to fire huge ballistic missiles into Israeli airspace.
01:32Once those alarms go off, you have millions of people who are running into shelters.
01:36You have airspace that closes.
01:37And then you have a lot of money that goes into the interceptors and the planes that are going into the sky to either shoot down the drone or the missile, whatever sort of protocol is in place.
01:48But the defense minister has been quite outspoken, saying that Israel will go at no length to destroy a Houthi infrastructure and to destroy any other capabilities they have.
01:59But look, it's not the first time Israel has conducted airstrikes in Yemen, but the Houthis are still able to conduct these attacks.
02:06And they say they're doing them in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza because of their suffering, and that the attacks are going to continue as long as Israel's war on Gaza continues as well.
