Transcript
00:00Client Bunshall Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire here today at the Adam Little Boxing
00:05Club in Kirkham. Now it's one of the schemes that we've funded over the summer through the
00:11community grants, the money that's from proceeds of crime taken off criminals and given to the
00:19community really focused on diversionary activities for young people. What they do here is work with
00:27young people who otherwise have very little to do in the local area, give them some real kind of
00:34positive activity over the summer period, building up the fitness, their aspirations, social skills,
00:42some great kind of engagement with those young people and that's what it's about. You know it's
00:47about how we can really make a difference in communities and I've just been told by the local
00:55PCSO for the area that since this boxing club has opened the anti-social behaviour in the local
01:03community has dropped by 50%. Now what an amazing achievement by giving young people something to
01:11do, something positive, you know targeting the young people that might be otherwise be the ringleaders
01:17causing kind of problems and really kind of engaging with those. This is something that's happening
01:25right across the county, we're supporting dozens of these type of schemes making a real difference
01:33making the streets of Lancashire safer.
