00:10cyclists of all ages can enjoy a free, traffic-free preview of this year's illuminations along the six-mile seafront.
00:17The road will be closed to vehicles from 6pm until half ten,
00:20giving families the chance to ride safely from Stargate to Red Bank Road at their own pace.
00:25The event comes just three days before the big switch-on,
00:27marking the start of one of Blackpool's most magical seasons.
00:32We've come here tonight, we're doing a charity fundraiser for, I think it's Donna's Dreamhouse or something,
00:40it's for children at like a holiday placement to go to.
00:45Obviously I've dressed up as Virgil Tracey from the Thunder, it's good fun.
00:49And we're like, the old school cranks, so we've all got different bikes,
00:55and we go on all different rides, and it's good fun.
01:00The illumination season is still underway and will continue through to the 4th of January 2026,
01:06so there are plenty more chances to see the lights,
01:09enjoy events along the seafront and take part in family activities across the town.
01:13Keep an eye on local listings for upcoming highlights including fireworks, light festivals and seasonal shows.
01:18And remember, many displays and installations will remain in place throughout the winter
01:23for visitors and residents to enjoy.
01:26Various stewards and event hosts were there to help out throughout the whole entire ride,
01:31and participants were treated to a first look at several new features in this year's display.
01:36Later in the season, visitors can also see Guardians of the North,
01:39three towering dragon sculptures with interactive lighting,
01:42and the 11.2 metre space canopy, creating even more spectacular displays along the promenade.
01:48Ride the Lights marked the start of the extended illumination season.
01:53Yeah, it's my first time doing Ride the Lights. I'm very excited.

02:02Obviously it's nice weather today.
02:04Last year it was raining, so it put us off a bit.
02:07But, yeah, I love it every year, isn't that?
02:11Yeah.
02:11Obviously all the kids come out and, like a family thing, isn't it?
02:15All the way down to Bisping, all the way back up here.
02:18They're back down, back up.
02:20We're in till about half, ten, eleven o'clock at night.
02:23And then drive home to Manchester.
