00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Heusenbeck and today we're going to be
00:03looking at pubs. Now we know that there are a bunch of brilliant awesome pubs here in Manchester
00:09many of which you will have been set outside over the course of the summer but I hate to say it
00:13we're about to come out of the summer and so with that in mind we thought we'd have a look at the
00:17pubs that we thought suited the cold weather a little bit more. We have thrown in a beer garden
00:21for good measure but we guarantee it's a place that you'll be able to hang out regardless of
00:25the weather. So we're going to be looking at some Irish pubs, we're going to be looking at some
00:28places that are staples here in Manchester and we're going to be looking at places that if you've
00:32not already made it down to you absolutely should. Here's our list. So we're going to start with the
00:38Fremont and everyone in Manchester will surely be aware of just how great this pub is. Only a couple
00:44of months ago they moved into a new venue in the northern quarter but let me assure you the quality
00:48absolutely has not dropped. It's got the best pint of Guinness in Manchester according to many
00:54wonderful vibes and the walls are adorned by brilliant posters of music past and Manchester
00:59past. It's absolutely worth a visit if you haven't got down and guarantee a friendly atmosphere, great
01:04great music most nights of the week and some top quality beer. So if you've not made it down already
01:09which is crazy you absolutely should. On to our second option though and this place is absolutely
01:14protected from the cold weather because it's actually underground. This is the temple of convenience
01:19and it's actually an old Victorian toilet. It also happens to be one of the best music jukebox bars
01:26here in the city of Manchester. It was referenced in a song by Guy Garvey who still occasionally
01:31frequents it. They've got a brilliant diverse range of beers as well you won't just be finding the same
01:36old wares as you do in other places in Manchester. The atmosphere is brilliant and because it's so
01:40tightly packed you will absolutely meet some awesome people. So if you haven't made it down and I do mean
01:45down the stairs then absolutely give it a go. Now in the intro I mentioned a beer garden and we had
01:51to come to the Oast House for this. The reason that we're okay with suggesting it they do have little
01:54areas where there's a fire pit or something else that might be able to keep you warm but this is
01:59a bar with a great range of beers and the atmosphere really does make this place magical. The seats
02:05outside are packed out most days of the week with some brilliant live performers taking to the stage.
02:10It's a brilliant place to be and if you've not experienced it before you absolutely have to.
02:14Now seeing as we're talking about cold weather we thought it'd be funny and ironic to mention a
02:18great bar that has Spain in the name and that is Nancy Spain's. It's a fairly recent addition to
02:23Manchester's pub environment. Its owners are from Kerry which means that instead of offering Guinness
02:29they offer the more Kerry popular Murphys which is genuinely a really really nice alternative.
02:35It's really sweet really creamy and definitely worth a visit and the interior is laid out exactly as
02:40some of the pubs are back home according to the owners. It's a really homely atmosphere they've
02:45got some great music on really really nice pints of beer and it's a place that not many people
02:50will have made it to yet because of how new it is. So that's all for now thank you very very much for
02:54watching Manchester World we hope you get down and visit some of these places and we hope to see
02:57you again soon thanks for watching.
