The best place in Manchester to spend a sunny day!

We don’t get many perfect days in Manchester, but the weather this week looks great, and so we want to hear from the people of Manchester about where they would spend a perfect summer afternoon.

00:00Hi, I'm Theo with Manchester World. Today we're out in sunny, beautiful Manchester,

00:04asking people where they'd most like to spend a sunny day like this.

00:07We want to know if it's here in the Northern Quarter, Piccadilly Gardens, roaming around the city,

00:12even the Island Ales hide away from the heat.

00:15Honestly, I just like walking around. I like going out, I'll spend it in the park, I'll get food, things like that.

00:22That's why I'm out here right now.

00:25I mean, sunny day. I've noticed there's quite a lot of small grass areas around,

00:30so I'm sure there's a couple of special gems of them around here.

00:33I like the giant Ardendale shopping centre with print works right behind it and all these shops around here.

00:39So this area, is this like central? Because this is quite nice.

00:42This is your centre here.

00:43This is quite nice.

00:45I'm from the independent tea company, Ethical Sustainable Loose Leaf Tea.

00:50We do iced teas, iced matcha, because that's big at the moment.

00:53And that's where I would be, getting myself a nice cup of iced matcha to enjoy the sunshine with,

00:58have the energy for the rest of the day.

01:02Absolutely love the Ardendale, I'll be really honest with you.

01:05It's a classic.

01:06Yeah, all like, I don't know, the arenas are good, aren't they?

01:09I gave Matt and Fred's a go.

01:11I do a jam night, I think on Tuesday night, but it's quite nice in there.

01:19Favourite pub? Well, I'm going to have to go with the Boone Battle Bar.

01:22I mean, it was a nice bar, decent layout.

01:24I mean, if you want fun and games, go to Boone Battle Bar.

01:26But that's like for the game side as well, because they've got like darts, axe throwing shop, that's kind of fun.

01:30I really like the King's Arms pub in Salford.

01:34It's like, you know, my local is like five minutes away and it's just a very kind of like nice atmosphere there.

01:39They've got a theatre on top.

01:41So I always like being in there.

01:43I like Marla.

01:44Marla's a really cool venue.

01:46But anywhere on Stevenson Square is pretty jazzy.

01:48Anywhere in Manchester.

01:50I love that Manchester changes when the sun comes out.

01:52Everyone's in the beer garden.

01:53So yeah, anywhere is a good place for me.

01:55And beer is good any day, right?

01:56Yeah, absolutely.
