At an executive order signing event at the Oval Office on Monday, President Trump was asked about North Korea's Kim Jong Un.
Transcript
00:00Mr. President, you have built a relationship with Russian leaders and also North Korean leaders.
00:04As they are getting closer, how would that affect your diplomatic approach?
00:09Well, I have very good relationships with Kim Jong-un, North Korea.
00:13I mean, a lot of people would say, oh, that's terrible. No, it's good.
00:16In fact, someday I'll see him. I look forward to seeing him.
00:19He was very good with me. We had two meetings. We had two summits.
00:22We got along great. I know him better than you do.
00:24I know him better than anybody, almost, other than his sister.
00:27His sister knows him pretty well.
00:30Now, I know him well, and I got along with him.
00:33You know, I'm not supposed to say I really like him a lot, because if I do that, I get killed in the fake news media.
00:39But I got along with him very well, and we had no problem.
00:42If, at the time, Hillary Clinton won the election, you would have had a nuclear war.
00:47You would have had a nuclear war. We're not going to have a nuclear war.
00:51Once that happens, it's over. We're not going to have a nuclear war.
00:54No, but Kim Jong-un will meet at some point. I look forward to it, actually.
00:59But do you notice that since I came into office, you haven't had a problem with him?
01:04Hasn't been, you know, he tests lots of rockets.
01:07He does have great capability, I will say that.
01:10But I think a lot of good things, a lot of good things are happening for our country, a lot of really good things.
