During a press briefing on Monday, President Trump spoke about his meeting with Kim Jong Un in 2019.
Transcript
00:00Mr. President, would you go back to the DMZ to meet with the North Korean leader?
00:04Say it.
00:05Would you go back to the DMZ to meet with the North Korean leader?
00:08I loved it.
00:09Remember when I walked across the line and everyone went crazy,
00:12especially Secret Service?
00:14I would say there was no one.
00:16And I looked into those windows.
00:18You know the windows, the glass,
00:19that you could only see if you look direct,
00:21because there was all sorts of stuff.
00:23But I looked in and I saw more rifles pointing at me than you could.
00:26There were a lot of rifles in that building.
00:28I mean, the Secret Service was not happy.
00:32You know the buildings I'm talking about?
00:34The two blue buildings on each side.
00:37And I walked up the middle and I looked in the window
00:39and I saw more guns in that room than I've ever seen in my life.
00:43I looked at the other side and it was the same thing.
00:47And yet I felt safe.
00:48I felt safe because I have a great relationship with Kim Jong-un.
00:52I hope it stays that way.
00:53I think it will.
00:54I have a very good relationship.
00:56I understand him.
00:57I spent a lot of free time with him,
00:59talking about things that we probably aren't supposed to talk about.
01:03And, you know, I just, I get along with him really well.
01:07I think he has a country of great potential,
01:10tremendous potential.
