00:00Good evening and welcome back to Brentwood. I've got Gary Manson with me,
00:04a joint manager of Birdseal Town after an unfortunate 2-1 loss here. Gary, how did you
00:13guys see that, you and Jay? First of all, I've got to say credit to Brentwood. I thought they
00:22were good value for their win. Like us, newly promoted, but very, very good side, very well
00:28organised, very good going forward. So fair play to them, they deserve the three points in the end.
00:35I thought we started okay, first 10-15 minutes, I thought we were good in possession,
00:41scored a really good goal. We were disappointed with the equaliser, we feel we should defend it
00:47better and we feel it lets them back into a game we were in control of. From that point on,
00:52the first half becomes a little bit too transitional. End-to-end, I thought we were a little bit loose
00:59in possession and it became too open. Second half, I thought they just started a little bit sharper than
01:08we did. And once they got their noses in front, they've become a difficult task.
01:14I mean, if you look past today, it's been a very, very excellent start in the East BN Premier League
01:21for Birdseal Town. Had a nice couple of wins, a draw. I mean, you must be well happy with how
01:27you started the season. Yeah, I think before today, we were, we would have taken seven points,
01:34but I think we were disappointed not to have nine points because we felt the three performances,
01:40we deserved the nine points. I thought today we felt a little bit short for the first time,
01:46but we've had four games on the road. That can't be overlooked. We're not looking for excuses, but
01:52you know, it does take its toll eventually. We're a little bit closer to home Monday, so,
01:58you know, we'll brush ourselves down and we'll pick ourselves up and we'll end the Monday with a
02:02positive action. Well, that's something we've got to look, everyone's got to look forward.
02:06There's lots happening back at base at our home with this artificial pitch being laid,
02:13new fan zone, lots of exciting things. But before that, we have two hugely exciting opportunities.
02:21We go to Lewis on Monday and then we start our FA Cup journey at Wokenham on next Saturday.
02:27Two away games, you must be looking forward to it. Yeah, I mean, when the fixtures come out,
02:32you always look to the local games. Lewis is a really nice pitch that the boys are looking
02:37forward to playing at. We know it'll be a big crowd. They're a very good football inside. We're
02:44a good football inside. So we think it'll be a really, really good game. So we're looking forward
02:48to that. And then the FA Cup is the FA Cup. You know, everyone should want to do well in the FA Cup.
02:54Okay. Well, thank you much for coming out to talk to me today, Gary. I do appreciate it.
03:02I'm going to say that these away games are starting to mount up now. And you can just tell that maybe
03:09four or five away games on the trot, it's just starting to take its toll a little bit. But hopefully
03:14we can get past it on Monday and then go forward. Yeah, well, as I say, relent with a positive attitude.
03:21It's not too far from home. So although it's an away game, it's not too bad for us. So yeah,
03:26we look forward to it. Thank you very much.
