00:00Good evening and welcome back to Woodstock.
00:04Birdsteel Town have just pulled off a miraculous penalty shootout.
00:09Ishpian South East playoff final win here at City Bourne down at Swale.
00:14I've got Gary Manson, we're joint manager at Birdsteel.
00:17Gary, first of all, that was a very exciting evening for the fans behind that goal over there.
00:23And I'm sure it was a very exciting evening for you in the dugout.
00:25Can you just give me your, sum up your emotions right now?
00:31Oh, ecstatic, ecstatic. It's a whole season's work completed tonight.
00:37And if you can guarantee it, you'd choose to do it that way.
00:41It had everything, lots of drama, ups, downs, twists and turns, but we've got over the line and I think we've got what we deserve.
00:49Yeah, I think you're right. And I think as a club, I think we really harmonised well today.
00:53We had 300 fans behind that goal, made a lot of noise.
00:56And you guys, especially in the second half, I thought that you probably played that best half of football that we've seen all season.
01:05I mean, you ran, the guys ran through brick walls for you, didn't they?
01:10The running was never in question. They ran in the first half.
01:13We just didn't play the football that's got us here tonight in the first half.
01:17And that was the message at half-time to the boys was, look, we've done something that's worked all season.
01:22We've been good at and we know would cause the opposite of problems.
01:25Got to be braver. And they did that. They did that.
01:29One question from me. In the penalty shootout, you gave the young man the chance to go up and take the first penalty.
01:35You put a lot of pressure on the young man. You stepped up and did it for you. Alex Brewer.
01:39Yeah, Alex, to be fair to Alex, he scored our first goal of the season and we tipped him to score our last of the season tonight.
01:47But fair play to Alex. He's been out on loan a lot in the season.
01:51We thought it was important that he played a lot of minutes at step four rather than sit on our bench.
01:56He's gone away. He's done the work. He's worked hard and he's come back and he's earned his place in the squad tonight.
02:01Good. Yeah, I'm going to end it there. We've all got to get home.
02:05We're miles from mid-Sussex. There's two coaches out there. Let's go and have a great time, shall we?
02:11Yeah, let's do it. Thank you.
