00:00Hello, I'm Alexis Boone and I'm the Chief Constable of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
00:08My priority is to make sure that the public feel like we are on their side, that policing
00:13is there for them, fighting the crime that is important to them and communities. I think
00:19there's some real focus this summer on town centre violence and town centre antisocial behaviour.
00:25We've worked hard to make our town centres safer, which they have been. We're also really focused
00:30on making sure that rural crime is targeted and dealt with and that rural communities feel that
00:37again we are on their side and we are going after the criminals that are impacting them the most.
00:43I'm very keen to make sure we remain focused on knife crime. Every knife taken off the street
00:48saves a life. Every knife crime disrupted is really important to us and communities.
00:56And finally violence against women and girls is an endemic problem in the United Kingdom and we in
01:03the Constabulary will remain focused on making sure that women and girls feel safe in their homes, in
01:09open spaces and going about their day-to-day business. They're some of the top priorities for
01:13the Constabulary and I really look forward to meeting communities and talking about their priorities
01:18as I'm out and about across the counties.
