00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australia Jane's Weather Update for Friday.
00:04We have got just the remains of this cold front that is now crossing the Bight,
00:08so some very light showers that are moving through during the day, not much activity.
00:12We do still have moisture that's pouring in from the northwest there.
00:15That is now going down into the southeast, but these cold fronts are sliding,
00:19so they don't produce more than a little bit of light and patchy rain for there.
00:22The significant weather system that was affecting New South Wales is now moving offshore.
00:26So let's have a look what's going to happen over here day by day.
00:29Here is Friday. Moisture still coming in from the northwest.
00:32High pressure here by the end of the day,
00:34so I've just got that little bit of activity in the southwest corner
00:37that isn't adding up to much during the day today.
00:40Let's have a look at Saturday.
00:42This starts to intensify again.
00:44It is just streaming in, coming in through there,
00:46but it's not reaching the southwest as we move through the day on Saturday.
00:50More of an inland thing.
00:52So we'll see the cloud there. We'll see cloud pretty much everywhere,
00:55but the rain is falling inland.
00:56And let's watch this next weather system that's coming up.
00:59So there we have Saturday.
01:01Here we have Sunday, driven by a deep low that is off the coast here,
01:04so that just pours in from the southwest and wraps around,
01:07but we still have this moisture that's coming in from the northwest.
01:10That'll be a day-after-day feature.
01:12There is Sunday.
01:14Here is Monday.
01:15Here is Tuesday.
01:17You'll notice that the following high-pressure system, it's off the map.
01:20It's well off the coast here, so that's not getting in the way.
01:23So while this system is affecting the southeast of the country,
01:26we're still seeing some wet weather from it as well,
01:28because the high hasn't moved in yet.
01:30It's going to take its time.
01:31So there's Tuesday.
01:32Let's now move into Wednesday.
01:34There it is, still off the coast.
01:35Into Thursday, that's when it starts to come in.
01:38Now wet weather starts to ease.
01:40And on Friday, it's extending a ridge over us,
01:42so there's hardly anything left.
01:44But once that arrives, it'll introduce some colder weather
01:47that just keeps coming day after day.
01:49What's that going to add up to?
01:50If you're up here in the northwest, 25 to 50 millimetres,
01:53this is a serious feed of moisture that is coming in.
01:56It decreases as you head in land,
01:58but still some nice falls all the way in through here.
02:01At the coast, 25 to 50 millimetres, all the way around.
02:04If you're right on that coastal fringe, it may go over 50.
02:07And in through here, 15 to 25 millimetres as it moves through.
02:11Let's have a look at what that means for Perth.
02:13So today's a fairly nice day.
02:15Top around 20.
02:16We've got a mix of sun and cloud.
02:17There's just these light showers passing through.
02:19Lots of sunshine as we're going to Saturday.
02:22And enjoy that with what is coming.
02:2419 is the top there.
02:26Temperatures go down as we go into Sunday.
02:28So we've got that rain coming through.
02:30About 23 millimetres is the average across the models.
02:3316 millimetres into Monday.
02:354, 5 and 1.
02:36So these are the two big wet weather days,
02:38Sunday and Monday, as that low passes to the south
02:41and just pushes in all of that moisture from the ocean through there.
02:45So they're the wet days,
02:46and we may get some storms with that one as well.
02:48So the wet weather does continue as it moves through Tuesday,
02:51Wednesday and into Thursday,
02:52but it doesn't add up to as much.
02:55The chilliest day is likely to be 13 on Monday
02:57before it finally clears up next Friday.
03:00As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
