00:00So we're here today at Burton Borough School for GCSE Results Day with
00:05Headteacher Caroline Bedford, Lucas Kerbishley and Amelia White. First of all
00:11Amelia, good news today? What have you got?
00:15Good news, 6's, 7's and 8's. Excellent and I hear you're going on to do A-levels.
00:21Where are you going on to do those? Yeah, at the Newport Girls School.
00:26Brilliant. Many of your friends from here going along with you as well?
00:30A couple, yeah, I think. Are you looking forward to it and have you got any sort of plans for the future?
00:36Where do you like to go after getting new? I'm very looking forward to it. I want to go into
00:42neuroscience when I'm older. So yeah, that'll be cool. Brilliant stuff. And what about you then, Lucas?
00:49How did you go? Yeah, I'm very happy with my results, definitely. I want to go on to do A-level
00:54biology, business and PE at Thomas Helford. But yeah, I'm very happy with my results and it'll
00:59take me to the next step. Brilliant. And what's the feeling like to come here today and be amongst
01:05all your friends and your teachers receiving results? Well, I was very nervous at first,
01:09but once you get in there, speak to your friends, I was very happy and happy for them as well. I think
01:13everyone's doing really well today, yeah. Brilliant. And what's your feeling on Results Day then,
01:18Caroline, you were super proud, of course, of all these youngsters that you've been with day in,
01:24day out for, what, five years now? Well, so I've been here one year, but these guys,
01:29I'm really proud of them for their journey because they started and Covid was still very much a thing,
01:34that awful word that we talk about. So these guys didn't do sats. So for them, it's their first big
01:40external exams. Lucas said they've absolutely smashed it. And that has been their attitude all
01:46the way through. They've worked really, really hard. They were so mature and sensible and dedicated
01:52during the whole exam series. And it has been my absolute privilege to be their principal and
01:57and get to know them and work alongside them. But these grades very much belong to them. They have
02:01battled all sorts of diversity in order to achieve these absolutely wonderful results. So we wish them all the
02:07well. Okay, then we're at Burton Borough School today for GCSE results. Please introduce yourselves,
02:16lads. I'm Jacob Elodie. I'm Sam Cole. I'm Toby Middleton. And talk me through your results,
02:25is it good news today? I'll go first. History that I needed to do like politics and stuff. Here at Stafford
02:33I got eight. So I think, is that like an eight? Yeah. But all together, literature I did very well.
02:42I got two sevens in English. So all of that should put me in Stafford College. Yeah. I'll go next.
02:50So like, I got five and sixes across the board. So I'm very buzzing with that. Six in math, six in
02:55biology. I didn't fail Spanish. I failed Spanish though, so at the end of the day. But apart
03:02than that, I'm buzzing with the results. I'm well happy. I got six and a half, which I want to do
03:09with Stafford College. Then just a fours and fives, the rest of it. I'm buzzing. I'm buzzing. Awesome.
03:15And how did it feel to come here today, see all your friends and pick up the envelope and find out?
03:21Uh, I was very worried actually. They came to mind and we were talking about it. Um, no, I was,
03:27I was worried and I think they were a bit too. Yeah, yeah. Well, last night I was like,
03:31you're going to be fine. And I woke up and I never felt worse. But at the end of the day, it's all sorted now.
03:38It's a big relief for it to get your results after like that long period of waiting. It's good.
03:43It's good. And how are you going to celebrate? I'm going to go to Bonham. Yeah, I think I'm
03:50going to go out for a meal today and a meal tomorrow. Yeah, will do. All right, see you later.
03:55Just thank everyone who's wished us good luck. Brilliant stuff. Well done boys. Thank you very much.
