00:00to look who to talk to all of those things um but we left that meeting and i'm his employer so i'm
00:10going to be very cautious as to what i'm going to say here um he immediately had some health issues
00:17and felt like he needed to fly home to to see his doctor and and i'm going to leave it at that
00:27um he's kind of alluded some of these health issues but they are work related and and it was
00:35truly an emergency he had to he had to go home which left the committee so now we have the committee
00:43who doesn't care about this topic i mean respectfully that i mean this is not their
00:49number one priority and grush is gone they were leaning on grush and
00:56and then in addition i mean on top of this grush did not have his tssci clearance so had he stayed
01:08the plan was to have you know a briefing with lou and and the other members at the top secret level
01:17and then at the moment that we had to talk about things that are at the tssci level
01:23grush would have to have stepped out or anybody that's not at the tssci level would have to leave
01:29and there and that's kind of that was problematic um so and that's that's that was kind of part of the
01:37decision matrix that so so let me just let me just say rush being sick and then the fact that you had
01:47the staff for the oversight committee who were saying we are not prepared for this please reschedule
01:55this hearing for a week or two weeks down the road and then the they had already scheduled my committee
02:04hearing my i'm the chairman of energy economic growth and regulatory reform they had scheduled
02:12that hearing at the exact same time as the briefing so i would have had to turn over my hearing to
02:21somebody else to chair my own hearing and it just was a big cluster and so we rescheduled and and that's
02:30why that's why we had to reschedule for two weeks later but unfortunately the date that that worked
02:35with everybody's calendars on in every member the members of congress that were related to this topic
02:44um that date did not work for lou and so lou wasn't lou immediately was not i mean he made it very clear
02:53from the beginning that he wasn't going to be able to make it and then um on the day of the hearing
02:58we found out that um christopher mellon had truly had pneumonia and so and i frankly my my my attitude
03:09on all of this is that i'm going to take these people at their word um i think that this is a
03:15you know this is heightened a lot of tensions are are very on very much on the surface people are
03:23really concerned about um about perception and reputation and all that and at the end of the day
03:31i don't really care about that stuff i just want to get to the truth and i want to get the information
03:37and get it disclosed and so that's i hope that answers your questions on where things are
