00:00The KL High Court will hear Datuk Seri Najib Razak's leave application to cite former Attorney General Tanshri Ahmad Terirudin Muhammad Saleh for contempt on Tuesday, August 19th.
00:12Najib's lead counsel Tanshri Muhammad Shafi Abdullah told the press that the matter has been fixed before Justice Alice Lok.
00:18In February, Muhammad Shafi announced that he had been instructed by his client to take legal action against the former AG for contempt of court over claims that Ahmad Terirudin, now a federal court judge, had concealed a royal addendum order that purportedly allows Najib to serve his prison sentence under house arrest.
00:37In the leave application, which was filed on May 21st, it said the application was based on clear evidence that Ahmad Terirudin had knowledge of the alleged addendum order but chose to mislead the court.
00:49Muhammad Shafi also told the press that the High Court had fixed September 19th for further case management in Najib's judicial review application on the addendum order.
00:5819 September at the moment is only about two matters.
01:04One is gag order, the other one is about amendment of the substantive application for judicial review.
01:13But as I've indicated to you, the gag order may not be necessary because even the judge has asked why the gag order because after so long.
01:24And also, what is the effect of the gag order?
01:26The gag order, if given, means that anybody who commits wrong of contempt or sedition, he still go for contempt or sedition.
01:37So why do you need a pre-emptive order from the judge in order for you to begin?
01:43Because you can always begin.
01:45So it's unnecessary.
01:47Last week, Chief Judge of Malaya Justice Hasna Mohamed Hashim instructed the High Court to fix a hearing date on Najib's judicial review application within one month from August 18th.
