00:13Yesterday, in extras, knocked out the Reds 6-5.
00:17This team doesn't lose.
00:19And the only thing I want to say, Tom, is I just hope they can continue this.
00:22Now, what does that mean?

00:24Of course, we know it's not going to be the case.
00:25They are peaking right now.
00:27We've seen so many times.
00:28Baseball's a long season.
00:30Boy, if the Brewers are playing this baseball on September the 28th, watch out.
00:34But they are sensational right now, Tom.
00:37So, on Sunday, August 3rd, that was the third game of the series for the Brewers
00:43when they were taking on the Nats.
00:44They had one two in a row.
00:45On that day, on that Sunday, that was when Mizorowski was placed on the IL.
00:50And that's when Jackson Churio was also placed on the IL.
00:53I believe it was a hamstring injury for Churio.
00:55And what I said on that show two Sundays ago, I said,
00:58this is a very important stretch for the Brewers.
01:00You're losing your – I don't want to say your best pitcher because I think we'd agree that Peralta is better.
01:04But your up-and-coming star pitcher, you're losing your best hitter arguably with Jackson Churio.
01:09I said, this is an important stretch for them.
01:11And what have they done since then?
01:12Nothing but impressed.
01:15Hitting from everyone, top to bottom of the lineup.
01:17Timely hitting.
01:18Contact hitting.
01:19Power.
01:20Great pitching.
01:20Yeah, there have been times where they've given up leads last Sunday versus the Mets.
01:24Quinn Priester had a terrible start.
01:26But guess what?
01:27They come back.
01:27The hitting is looking good.
01:29The bullpen is stepping up when it needs to.
01:30They have good starting pitching.
01:32Really, in the majority of these starts, it's been unbelievable from the Brewers.
01:36All credit to them.
01:38No, it's been fantastic because they're doing it every which way.
01:40Sometimes you have like an MO of a baseball team, Tom, how they win.
01:43Two to one every day.
01:44Oh, look at that.
01:45Or, boy, they just get in shootouts.
01:46Eight to seven every night.
01:47They do it every which way.
01:48Like there's no – like the streak was done the other day.
01:50What were they – was it eight nothing?

01:54Yeah.
01:54Yeah, eight one early in the game.
01:55It's like, oh, you know what, guys?
01:56It was a fun run while it lasted.
01:57Before you could blink your eye in like two to three innings,
02:00then they had the leader right back into that baseball game.
02:02There's just no quit in that franchise,
02:04which is certainly something fun to watch at this point now.
02:06Some teams just playing spoiler down the stretch.
02:08The one team, the New York Mets, can't quite figure out right now.
02:11They went down and got a, you know, prospect to give them absolute gem yesterday
02:15to finally get a victory over the Mariners in a three to one victory.
02:19But if we look at the Mets overall, something just isn't right with that baseball team.
02:23And I can't quite put my finger on it, Tom.
02:26So they improved their bullpen at the deadline leading up to it.
02:31We know that.
02:32They did not improve their starting pitching,
02:34and they didn't do too much to their lineup, if anything at all.
02:37And what I continuously said about the Mets is,
02:39it's awesome to have these high leverage relievers.
02:41It is.
02:42But those high leverage relievers only come into play
02:45if you have the lead and or the game is close.
02:47If your starters are terrible and you're down six to two,
02:51those leverage relievers aren't going to come into play.
02:53So if they did not improve their lineup and their starters are bad,
02:57what you did to improve will never have its chance to shine.
03:00So Shamanai isn't trustworthy.
03:02They moved Montas out of a starting role into the long reliever.
03:05He's coming out of the bullpen, this, that, the other thing.
03:07Clay Holmes was due for a regression.
03:09Senga looks good at times.
03:11We're not getting a consistency out of their starters,
03:13and nothing else matters if you can't maintain
03:16or hold the lead into late innings of games.
