The Public Utilities Minister tells TV6 News he has been informed by the Police Service that there are threats against him and two other State officials leading the Government's crackdown on the State-funded CEPEP and URP.
And Minister Barry Padarath says he is not deterred and will continue to do his job without fear or favour.

00:45The three state officials identified as the subject of those threats are local government minister Khadija Amin, URP program manager Feroz Khan and Minister Padarath.
00:56In response to a question from TV6 News, Minister Padarath said the matter was brought to his attention by the TTPS.
01:04Minister Padarath further said that there are specific protocols in addressing matters like these, but added that for the sake of his family, he will not wish to engage in matters related to security.
01:15The public utilities minister also serves as minister in the office of the Prime Minister.
01:20Minister Padarath told TV6 News that as a public official who is serving at the front line of the government and making substantial changes and articulating those changes, there will be pushback particularly from the criminal elements whose source of funds, he said, is being disrupted through state contracts.
01:37Minister Padarath then declared that he swore to uphold the Constitution and the law without fear or favor.
01:44He will not be deterred. However, he will take precaution to protect his family.
