We're here with Cannington Town joint boss Simon Riddle after tonight's 0-0 draw at Beaud.
00:05
Simon, that's seven points from nine now. What were your thoughts on this evening?
00:09
Yeah, I thought first half Beaud by far the better team.
00:13
We just didn't get going for whatever reason. Disappointed really with how we played.
00:18
Lucky, probably coming 0-0. Jake made a couple of good saves.
00:21
We didn't really get anything linked going forwards.
00:25
Reset half-time. I thought we came out better. Then a few stoppages, a few injuries for them.
00:31
Sort of broke the game up and stopped the flow a little bit.
00:34
But after that, I thought on the break we looked dangerous.
00:39
Subs came on and did well, I thought as well. Gave us a bit of extra impetus.
00:42
On the flip side, Beaud on the counter, thought they could score as well.
00:46
So I think on the basis of play, draw overall was probably a fair result.
00:51
Any individual performances which you're happy about?
00:54
And also, how pleasing was it to obviously keep your unbeaten record going,
00:58
considering you've had three games away from home to start with?
01:00
Yeah, three away games.
01:02
A bit of credit to the defence as well. That's three keen sheets as well on the road.
01:05
So to start the season with that, that's excellent from them.
01:08
Last season we didn't score enough goals.
01:10
We scored five of our first game, got a winner at Millbrook.
01:12
But we still need to look to get the ball in the back of the net more.
01:15
Defensive, like I say, we look solid again.
01:17
It's just that creativity going forward. We just need to find a little bit extra,
01:20
find another gear maybe.
01:21
Now we've got a run of home games in the league and we've got a vase in between.
01:25
But if we can get on a bit of a run of that, get some more points on the board.
01:28
But yeah, three away games, seven points, it's a decent start.
01:31
And how do you go about refining that attack?
01:34
You mentioned there about obviously trying to create a few more chances.
01:37
How do you go about doing that just in case of through work on the training pitch and so on?
01:41
Yeah, we haven't really trained since the season started, to be fair.
01:44
But we're missing Finn Harrison the last two games.
01:47
He joined us in the summer and scored two against Dodd Wolves.
01:50
He has a massive focal point up front, brings players into play.
01:53
He's a real handful.
01:54
We probably haven't missed him the last two games.
01:55
He allows up there to work their socks off, to be fair to them.
01:57
But having that sort of focal point up front, a natural back-to-goal sort of striker as well,
02:02
does suit us.
02:03
I think getting him back in the coming games will be key as well.
02:05
Looking ahead to Saturday, what are your thoughts on that?
02:08
Yeah, on to Saturday, home to St. Day.
02:11
Don't know a massive amount about him for this season.
02:14
I know last season they started alright, they lost a few players.
02:17
But we can't take anything lightly.
02:19
It'll be our first home game.
02:20
We want to get on a good start at home.
02:22
It's important that we now, like I say, we've got those home games in a run.
02:25
Getting points on the boards on them will be key.
02:27
Our home form last season was excellent.
02:29
I think we're beating a home right into well into the new year.
02:31
So we can get something similar again going now.
02:33
But we can't take anything lightly.
02:35
Reset now and go again Saturday.
02:37
And hoping to have a few players back for that game?
02:40
Yeah, Finn will be back on Saturday.
02:42
We're with Kevin Prescott and Finske's back today.
02:44
We're still missing a couple.
02:46
But I thought Lewis came in for his debut for us tonight.
02:49
Played for Holesbury a bit last season.
02:51
He looked really lively when he came on.
02:52
We've got decent depth.
02:54
So the lads were working hard.
02:56
Just to find out a little bit extra in that final third.
03:00
Let's try it.
03:01
We've got people on talent as numbers.
03:02
Maybe a bunch of guys are who they're going to be calling him Home,
03:03
baseball contests.
03:04
Lord, I'll don't happy with this.
03:05
I think we can run closely with under a tab on five-mail.
03:06
And we hope let's get out a couple.
03:07
Go ahead.
