This is the finale to the Monster association arc. And I loved seeing the character arc of Garou threw out it.

00:00Welcome back everyone, and welcome back to the final part of the Monster Association arc.
00:06This will be the last One Punch Man webcomic video I will be doing for a while,
00:10since I am going to be starting a new review series on My Hero Academia.
00:16I will still try to get videos on this series out when I can,
00:20but they will only come out once a month probably.
00:24And I am telling you this so you guys know what's gonna be going on for the channel.
00:30Now, let's begin.
00:32Garo, in his now complete monster form, starts with Sweet Mask,
00:37criticizing his rule that heroes must be beautiful,
00:40calling it for what it is, narcissism.
00:44Then he moves on to Atomic, who begs him not to do anything to his disciples.
00:49Garo says that the world isn't so sweet that a downed opponent won't be attacked,
00:54and that Atomic is using excuses not to jump in himself,
00:58like not having his weapon.
01:00He makes fun of Pig God for being so fat and barely doing any hero work.
01:06Genos has now gotten a good look at him, and can't believe what he is turned into.
01:12Then he moves on to Zombie Man, saying that he never has to worry about dying because of his powers.
01:18Zombie Man tries to reason with him, but Garo just comes to the conclusion that he will never understand his reasoning.
01:25Tatsumaki comes back to attack him, and he just says that she is nothing special, even compared to her sister,
01:34and he then tells her that Fubuki's dead body is over there, of course enraging Tatsumaki.
01:40While she is trying to kill him, he comes up with a name for his new martial arts style,
01:45after absorbing and fusing many styles he has come across, calling it the Monster Calamity God Slayer Fist.
01:54Atomic tries to cut him, using Iain's blade, but gets easily defeated.
01:59Tatsumaki tries to hold him in place, while the others try to pack on as much damage as possible,
02:05but it still seems to do nothing to him.
02:08And man, this panel of Sweetmask getting his face caved in,
02:12it was one of the more brutal things that have come out of the series.
02:18Tatsumaki also passes out from overuse of her powers.
02:22After all that, Flashy Flash finally appears with Saitama.
02:27Flash uses his secret technique, Lightspeed Fist, but Garou was still able to block it.
02:33They keep fighting, when Puri and Darkshine show up as well, and start fighting him.
02:39Zombieman thinks there might be a chance that they could win,
02:42but he doesn't think they can win through numbers alone.
02:46They need someone at the same level as Garou to beat him.
02:49We also see King running into the still alive Fubuki,
02:53and we get the answer to the question Garou asked before.
02:56And it's that she saw fear when looking at him.
03:00Garou keeps fighting them, and Darkshine tells him that he is different from when they fought before,
03:05because now, he has the determination to truly bet his life on this fight.
03:11But Garou just shuts him down, saying that anyone can do that.
03:15And during all of this, Saitama keeps trying to butt in,
03:19but everybody just keeps continuing the fight, ignoring him.
03:22After beating everyone, Garou announces to all of them that he is going to go kill Tario.
03:29He goads them on, to come stop him, and show him that they have a reason for existing.
03:35Zombieman tries to reason with him again,
03:37but Garou just tells him he is a coward, even with his advantage of his regenerating body.
03:42And then we just cut to him pulverized on the ground, not even being recognizable.
03:48He then keeps walking forward, disappointed that none of them are trying to stop him,
03:53even though he has beat all of them within an inch of their lives,
03:57yelling at them that this is their last chance.
04:00Evil Natural Water comes back,
04:02and would have most likely killed the downed heroes,
04:05until we see Saitama take care of it,
04:07asking Garou,
04:08what is he supposed to be?
04:10And he tells Garou that he looks like a guy in cosplay,
04:14with Garou just talking down to him.
04:17Garou tells him for taunting him, he will kill Tario in front of him,
04:21but Saitama said that he's not even going in the right direction.
04:25And because of that, he doesn't think Garou is a monster.
04:29And he announces that he will now kick his ass.
04:32Then we get a bit of comedy, with him walking to Garou while he is talking,
04:36and says, are you chicken, with Garou lashing out, starting their fight.
04:41After Garou attacked him, he thinks he beat Saitama,
04:45only for him to come out of the smoke and punch him,
04:48saying that this was the first time a monster went easy on him.
04:52Garou gets back up, and begins to take the fight seriously.
04:56He begins to realize that Saitama is above him in pure stats,
05:00but with his knowledge and observation skills, he can defeat him,
05:05with him being so amateurish, he will never be able to win.
05:09Saitama just tells him that he is impressed,
05:12but still can tell he is holding back,
05:14and begins to use one of his serious moves.
05:17Serious table flip.
05:19Causing all of the debris on the ground to suddenly fly up into the air,
05:24taking Garou with it.
05:25He then gets attacked by Saitama in the sky,
05:28and tries to match him, but quickly gets overwhelmed.
05:32He tries to create distance between them,
05:34but ends up lodging himself in the ground.
05:37Because it turns out, he was launched so high up in the air,
05:41his senses got confused on what direction the ground was.
05:45He then starts to think that he needs more power,
05:48as he still is getting beaten down on by Saitama.
05:51He then realizes that that's not it,
05:54and goes through a list of what he needs,
05:56but he can't think of anything that would work,
05:59coming to the conclusion that his power is just unfair.
06:03He thinks he must become unfair as well,
06:06with him seemingly going through another transformation.
06:10He then exclaims that the world he is striving for is absolute evil,
06:15and that will be accomplished with Saitama's death.
06:18transforming even further into a beast,
06:21but still loses.
06:23Garou tells him to finish him off,
06:25but he just says there is no meaning to keep fighting,
06:29since he is not even responsive at this point,
06:32barely standing up.
06:33Garou keeps yapping about his ideals,
06:36until Saitama just tells him to shut the fuck up.
06:39The other heroes tell Saitama to just kill Garou,
06:42so he won't be a problem in the future,
06:44but he just says that Garou is still human.
06:47Garou then goes on another tirade about his beliefs,
06:51saying that with heroes around,
06:53people are free to just live their lives,
06:55thinking a hero will handle any kind of problem,
06:58and in that place of complacency,
07:01evil will grow.
07:03But if a monster were to appear,
07:05that no one could defeat,
07:06it would bring people together,
07:08out of pure survival,
07:10getting rid of bullying and discrimination,
07:12making all the world hold hands in terror of the ultimate monster,
07:17saying that the world doesn't need biased justice,
07:20it needs unbiased absolute evil.
07:23Finishing off the rant,
07:25asking Saitama why he is a hero,
07:28and he just tells him,
07:30it's a hobby.
07:31Enraging Garou,
07:32telling him that that is not a satisfying answer.
07:35Seeing this tantrum,
07:36Saitama sees that Garou did have an image of the ideal hero,
07:40but never thought he could become that,
07:43so just compromised in becoming a monster.
07:46He tells him he took the quick and easy way out,
07:48but now,
07:49since he knows that that way won't work,
07:52what will he do now?
07:54And Garou doesn't know what to do next.
07:57The rest of the heroes again insist on killing him,
08:00with Saitama refusing,
08:01until Silver Fang arrives.
08:03He starts to scold him,
08:05but Garou says that there is no power behind his blows,
08:09with Sweet Mask again stopping him,
08:11insisting that he will kill him,
08:13and Garou doesn't even want to live at this point.
08:16But then Tario comes out,
08:18telling them to not kill him,
08:20since he saved him twice,
08:22getting in the way to try to stop them from killing Garou.
08:25Seeing this,
08:26Garou's eyes get some life back into them,
08:29and he just disappears,
08:30running away.
08:31All of the other heroes start to panic,
08:34but Saitama just is thinking about how his house is now gone.
08:38Ending the chapter.
08:40Alright,
08:41this had a lot of stuff packed into it.
08:43I'm saving Garou for last,
08:45so let's go through everyone else first.
08:48Darkshine had at least some character development,
08:51with him coming back,
08:52trying to stop Garou.
08:53Sweet Mask keeps showing how shallow his heroism is,
08:57wanting to kill Garou,
08:59even though he has not killed any humans this whole time,
09:02and could have easily killed him,
09:05but didn't.
09:06And even trying to step over Bang,
09:08who was trying to reprimand Garou,
09:10so he could at least try to redeem him.
09:12With Bang,
09:13I just kinda covered him,
09:15and I am sure he is happy Garou is still alive.
09:18Flashy was really impressive,
09:20with his speed and power he showed,
09:22with Garou even saying he may have lost to him
09:25before he completed his transformation.
09:28Tatsumaki kept trying to push on,
09:31but did eventually reach her limit,
09:33and Fubuki seemed traumatized from seeing Garou.
09:37With the rest of the characters,
09:38I am not really going to talk about,
09:40since there's nothing really there.
09:42Saitama though,
09:43has a decent amount to talk about.
09:46Saitama reiterates that he is just being a hero for fun,
09:50since he likes helping people,
09:51and hopes to get a thrill while doing it.
09:53He saw through Garou,
09:55seeing who he truly was,
09:57and eventually got fed up with him,
09:59knocking some sense into him.
10:01He had some more cool showings of his power,
10:03with the serious table flip,
10:06which had great artwork,
10:08and I love the fight in it.
10:09Along with it ending with Garou crashing into the ground.
10:12But now, he has to deal with being homeless,
10:15so we will see how he's going to deal with that.
10:18Now I must get into my personal favorite character in the series,
10:22and in many other series,
10:24Garou.
10:25I feel like he was just,
10:27peak,
10:28for this whole arc.
10:29I love seeing how elated he was,
10:32to finally be at what he saw as the perfect monster,
10:36and him tearing down the heroes physically,
10:38and ideologically.
10:40Because a lot of things he was saying about the heroes,
10:43were true.
10:45And then the revelation that he wanted to be a hero,
10:48but never thought he could fix the world that way,
10:51since it would be too difficult doing it,
10:54the quote unquote,
10:55right way.
10:56So he decided to become a monster,
10:58since he always saw them as the little guy,
11:01never even having a chance to win,
11:03and being beaten down,
11:05by overwhelming forces.
11:07He just simply saw himself in them.
11:10And to stop the pain he went through as a child,
11:12and even others have gone through,
11:14he wanted to unite the world,
11:16in the simplest way possible.
11:18Which was through the ultimate evil,
11:21and fear.
11:22He would basically sacrifice himself,
11:24on the altar of fear and hatred,
11:26to bring peace to the world.
11:28But he ran into the ultimate wall,
11:31that is Saitama,
11:32who dressed him down.
11:34Showing him,
11:35and everyone else there,
11:37that Garo was never,
11:38a true monster.
11:40At his core,
11:41he was still human,
11:42because he still wanted to save and help people,
11:45as his core belief.
11:47And even from his inner dialogue,
11:49he never wanted to kill anyone,
11:50even Saitama.
11:52He just wanted to knock him down,
11:54since he was in the way,
11:55of his dream.
11:57And even if he did want him to truly die,
11:59he would have believed,
12:01he was killing him,
12:02for the greater good of humanity.
12:04And once he got broken down,
12:06by Saitama,
12:07seeing that his dream,
12:08could never come true,
12:10he felt like he had nothing else to live for,
12:13and just welcomed the other heroes,
12:15coming to kill him.
12:16But,
12:17a spark was lit in him,
12:19once he saw Tario come back,
12:21trying to stop the others,
12:22from killing him,
12:24and was thankful for him,
12:25because he saved him.
12:27And in that moment,
12:28I think Garo had the idea,
12:30that flashed in his head,
12:32that to this kid,
12:34he was a hero.
12:35The way Saitama told him,
12:37that he was always wanted,
12:39to be a hero,
12:40was something he rejected,
12:41and did not want to come to terms with,
12:44because,
12:44that would have destroyed,
12:45his whole ideology,
12:47of being a monster.
12:49Tario unknowingly,
12:50gave him a new purpose in life.
12:52We don't know,
12:53what that purpose exactly is,
12:55yet,
12:56but,
12:56I am happy,
12:57he was able to leave,
12:58and that we will see him,
13:00later on in the story.
13:02Oh,
13:03and as a last thing,
13:04I read this,
13:05before Naruto ended,
13:07and once I saw Sasuke,
13:08came to the same conclusion,
13:10Garo did,
13:11I was metaphorically,
13:13pointing at the scene,
13:14saying,
13:15one punch man,
13:16did that first.
13:17Whew,
13:18man,
13:19that was a lot to get through,
13:20and I love going through it.
