00:00:59A really good point. Also should be noted, Doug Collins, former WWE wrestler as well.
00:01:03Really? No. I didn't know about that. You're watching Fox and Friends First on this Friday
00:01:08morning. I'm Carly Schumacher. And I'm Todd Pyro. Let's get right to it. House lawmakers
00:01:11pressing Joe Biden's White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain over whether top aides covered up signs
00:01:18of the former president's decline while in office. Madeline Rivera joins us now from Washington
00:01:22with the very latest. Hi, Maddie. Good morning, Carly and Todd. Unlike some
00:01:26other Biden aides who pled the fifth before the House Oversight Committee, former Chief of Staff
00:01:31Ron Klain did speak with lawmakers. In a closed-door deposition, a source tells Fox, Klain said he
00:01:37acknowledged former President Biden was less energetic and more forgetful, but still believed
00:01:42he had the acuity to govern. Klain said Biden often confused names and proper nouns, and it got worse
00:01:47over time, yet he believed the former president still had the mental sharpness to serve as president
00:01:52and did not think he was too old for the role.
00:01:56I found Mr. Klain to be very credible. He answered every single question.
00:02:05He was fully cooperative.
00:02:09I think Mr. Klain has come in there and he's, in my opinion, he's not trying to avoid answering
00:02:17the questions. He's answering the questions carefully. When I say credible, I think he is
00:02:23telling what he knows accurately. Klain was brought back to help Biden prep before the now infamous
00:02:31debate back in June 2024. Klain said Biden appeared tired and ill, but he had no knowledge of him taking
00:02:37Ambien. This week, Hunter Biden blamed his father's performance on the sleeping pill.
00:02:43Evidence emerges on a daily basis that would suggest Joe Biden wasn't mentally fit
00:02:48to be president of the United States. Just in the last few hours, obviously, the Hunter Biden
00:02:54interview with Ambien. It's unfortunate that Dr. O'Connor pled the fifth because that would
00:03:03certainly be something that we would want to know with respect to the doctor.
00:03:08A source tells Fox Klain told the committee that former national security advisor Jake Sullivan
00:03:13believed Biden was less effective in 2024 compared to 2022 and that Sullivan and Hillary Clinton
00:03:20both did not think he was politically viable. A spokesperson for Sullivan is pushing back saying
00:03:26he did not have a conversation with Klain about Biden running for president before the debate.
00:03:31Kali and Todd. Someone's telling the truth. Maddie, thank you. Let's bring in Florida Congressman
00:03:35Randy Fine. Congressman, thank you so much for being here. Maddie gave us a lot of information,
00:03:40a lot of what we heard come out of that interview with Ron Klain. Have you heard anything more
00:03:45from your colleagues who actually conducted the interview of Klain besides what has been reported?
00:03:50I haven't, other than their fact that someone wasn't willing to take the fifth. They actually,
00:03:54he answered questions. And look, he should because he probably was the president for the last couple of
00:03:58years. So he knows what's going on. This is the biggest political scandal in American history and
00:04:03I'm glad my colleagues are getting to the bottom of it. Okay, so looking ahead, we have August 21st,
00:04:07Ian Sam, September 5th, Andrew Bates, Karine Jean-Pierre, Jeff Zients as well. All scheduled to
00:04:13appear before GOP investigators, House Oversight Committee. Who is the person who you think could
00:04:18be the most enlightening out of those who have yet to speak? Well, I don't think we know and that's why
00:04:22we have to talk to everybody because the question is who was running the auto pen? Because it seems like
00:04:26the auto pen was actually the president and who was making those decisions to sign all these things.
00:04:31What's most frustrating about this is we could all see with our eyes that what was going on. And we
00:04:36got told we were gaslighting and we were making things up and these were digitally altered videos.
00:04:41And so now Democrats have to be held accountable for the fact that they lied to us for all of these
00:04:46years. What do you make of the theory that basically investigators are getting claim to flip
00:04:50in order to get, I don't know, those individuals who took the fifth on the hook? You know, I heard
00:04:55somebody basically compare it to a mafioso-style investigation yesterday on our air. I'm curious
00:05:01what you think about that analogy. Well, look, when you take the fifth,
00:05:05you're not going to go to jail, but you're admitting that you did something criminal.
00:05:08You can't take the fifth if you didn't do anything wrong. You can't incriminate yourself. So we know
00:05:14with certainty that illegal activity took place in the Biden administration. Now the question is,
00:05:18can we prove it? And will people go to jail? That's my hope. Yeah. So where is this going?
00:05:23And what are the stakes here? And what do you think the most plausible ultimate outcome will be?
00:05:28Well, I think we gather all the information. We use our power to subpoena people to ask questions
00:05:34as we're doing. And then we make that criminal referral. And hopefully the Trump administration
00:05:37will put the right people in jail. Could you see the former first lady being called in to testify?
00:05:41She certainly could. Look, I said when I was running for office, I thought she engaged in
00:05:44elder abuse. I mean, Joe Biden was clearly unfit to be president and her pushing him out was just
00:05:50a terrible, terrible thing. Before we move off this topic, what do you make of, I like to refer to her
00:05:54as the Forrest Gump of Democrat politics for the last 30 years, Hillary Clinton being brought up,
00:05:58basically going to a claim and saying, there's something wrong with this guy. I don't think he should
00:06:03run. I think he's politically compromised. What do you make of that? Well, she should know. I mean,
00:06:07you know, we had those issues as well. And we've learned by some of the stuff that Tulsi Gabbard's come out
00:06:11with that she may have been physically compromised when she was running for president. So this
00:06:14seems to be a habit with their candidates. And the good thing we know is Donald Trump takes more
00:06:19questions like in a day than Joe Biden took in four years. And you can see the big difference right
00:06:23now. Okay. So we have a brand new Fox News poll. The question is, which party has a clear plan
00:06:28for dealing with problems facing the country? 33% said the Democratic Party. 43% said the Republican Party.
00:06:36So it's a bit of good news, bad news for you and your colleagues, because Republicans are 10 points
00:06:40higher, but still underwater. What's your reaction to that? And what is the Republican plan for dealing
00:06:45with the problems facing this country? Well, I'm surprised they got 33% because they don't seem
00:06:49to have any plan at all. Look, you can see what our plan was in the one big, beautiful bill.
00:06:53It's tax cuts for regular people, no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and then making sure that we're
00:06:59spending money on the things that matter, like border security. President Trump's got a clear vision for
00:07:04the country. We've been focusing Congress on implementing it and making sure we take that
00:07:08into the midterms next year. But Congressman, when I look at those numbers, something jumps out at me,
00:07:12and it's this perception is reality situation. I heard what you just said. Totally understand what
00:07:17you're saying. But if the people don't feel like Republicans or Democrats, obviously, have a plan,
00:07:22then that is concerning. And this is one of the number one things that I hear from people out in
00:07:26public who really aren't into politics. They're like both parties. They don't have a plan. They don't know
00:07:30what they're doing. How do Republicans take that concern and then message it differently going
00:07:34forward? Well, we have that obligation right now. We've just started our district work period in
00:07:38August, and we need to talk about the extraordinary wins that President Trump has had over the last
00:07:43six months, whether it's tariffs, trade deals, the foreign policy, the one big, beautiful bill,
00:07:48which is the most transformative piece of legislation in decades. The fact that we passed the first
00:07:52rescissions bill to cut NPR and PBS and all this crazy foreign aid. We have to talk about what we're doing.
00:07:59And by talking about what we've done, it shows that we're prepared to take more steps in the
00:08:03future. And I'm confident that my colleagues and I will get that word out this month.
00:08:06So the August recess won't really be a recess. It really isn't. It's not like when I was six
00:08:11years old and you got to go play on the jungle gym. I'm actually going to be doing 100 events.
00:08:15Yeah, no monkey bars for you when you go back down to Florida. Congressman Fine,
00:08:19thank you so much for bringing us. Great to have you here. Great to have you. Absolutely. Yes,
00:08:21that's right. To a Fox News alert now, and a sad one is that Hershey, Hershey Park,
00:08:27revealing a nine-year-old has died at their water park. It happened last night. According
00:08:31to reports, lifeguards identified the child in distress and immediately responded with rescue
00:08:37efforts. First responders then attempted life-saving measures before the child was
00:08:41rushed to a nearby medical center and pronounced dead. Hershey's CEO, John Lawn, releasing a statement
00:08:46saying in part, quote, our hearts break for this child and the child's family. The safety of our
00:08:51guests has always been our highest priority. In the coming days, we will conduct a thorough
00:08:56internal review and cooperate fully with authorities. The child's identity and cause
00:09:01of death have not yet been released. Happening today, President Trump headed to Scotland for what
00:09:07the White House is calling a working visit. There, the president plans to stop by his two golf resorts.
00:09:13He's also expected to meet with top leaders like Scotland's First Minister John Swinney and British
00:09:18Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss trade ahead of the August 1st deadline. It's coming up
00:09:23next week. The five-day visit comes two months before King Charles III welcomes Trump for a
00:09:28formal state visit to the UK. A little golf, a little trade talk. Sure, why not? I like it.
00:09:33The man charged with trying to assassinate President Trump at one of his Florida golf courses last
00:09:37year will represent himself in court for the first time today. A judge ruled yesterday that
00:09:43he can self-represent but only with his court-appointed attorneys on standby. Public defenders earlier in the
00:09:50week asked to be taken off the case, saying Ruth refused to meet with him. Ruth has pled not guilty
00:09:55to multiple charges, including attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate.
00:10:00His trial is expected to start in September. Convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's former
00:10:06girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell will meet with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche again today
00:10:10after beginning her interview yesterday. We had a very productive day today with the Deputy Attorney
00:10:20General Todd Blanche and Glenn Maxwell. He took a full day and asked a lot of questions and Ms. Maxwell
00:10:29answered every single question. She never stopped. She never invoked a privilege. She never declined to
00:10:37answer. She answered all the questions truthfully, honestly, and to the best of her ability.
00:10:42Maxwell has also been subpoenaed by a congressional committee to testify from prison to provide
00:10:47additional testimony surrounding Epstein's years of sex crimes. It is still unclear if she plans to
00:10:55participate. All right, here is what some are calling an interesting choice. Democrats tapping former
00:11:00Vice President Kamala Harris to speak to young voters today at an annual summit. So to be clear, Carly,
00:11:05they're using her to go after the youths. The youths. Okay. But will this be enough to swing Gen Z back to
00:11:12the left? Our next guest tells us why his generation is firmly in the rights corner.

00:12:01Botox prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine and treatment is four times a year. So
00:12:06why wait? Talk to your doctor. Botox effects may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious
00:12:16symptoms. Alert your doctor right away as trouble swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems,
00:12:20or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Those with these
00:12:24conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions like
00:12:28rash, breathing problems, dizziness, neck and injection site pain, and headache. Don't receive
00:12:33Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions like
00:12:38ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, and medicines like botulinum toxins, which may increase
00:12:43the risk of serious side effects. In a survey 91% of patients wish they'd started Botox sooner. Ask your doctor

00:16:37Democrats holding a Voters of Tomorrow Summit in D.C. this morning with
00:16:42Kamala Harris expected to give a virtual address. Other prominent Democrats that they're using to
00:16:49try and get the youth vote include Nancy Pelosi. She said to give a speech as well, all as the party
00:16:55looks to sway younger voters after their 2024 election loss to Donald J. Trump. Political
00:17:00commentator Brylin Ollihan joins me now to discuss. Brylin, great to see you here in person.
00:17:06I'm confused. I'm perplexed. I'm flummoxed, if you will. Why would Democrats turn to the candidate
00:17:13who literally squandered their decades-old stranglehold over the youth vote to try and get
00:17:21the youth vote back? I don't get it. That's the question everybody's wondering this morning.
00:17:25Todd, good morning to you. Happy Friday. I appreciate the opportunity to be here in studio.
00:17:28I will say to you that this right here is why the Democrat Party is a sinking ship of a party.
00:17:35Gen Z put Kamala Harris in the trash heap of history right next to Hillary Clinton last November.
00:17:39Why the Democrat Party would think to pull her out of that trash bin of history
00:17:43and try to have her win Gen Z back over? The Democrats had this monopoly on Gen Z prior to this
00:17:50election. Thankfully, they ran Kamala Harris and the Republican Party broke that monopoly.
00:17:54I have some advice for the Democrats this morning. Please run Kamala Harris again. Please keep paying
00:17:59her to give speeches. Please keep sending her to college campuses. We beg you. We would love to
00:18:03see a Kamala Harris-J.D. Vance matchup in 2028 because we would steamroll her. It would be a bigger
00:18:08defeat than we saw in 2024, and I would love to do that. It would make my job easier. Please,
00:18:13Democrats, please bring Kamala Harris out more. We would love to see her talk more about yellow school
00:18:16buses. I hear what you're saying about Kamala, and I definitely agree. I don't understand the choice,
00:18:21but I think the choice to then showcase Nancy Pelosi and Jamie Raskin is almost as concerning
00:18:30if I'm a Democrat as well, because let's be real. These are not the young people that the Democrat
00:18:36Party are going to... They're not young. And I look at individuals like we have on the show,
00:18:40Jake Auchincloss. Now, you may not agree, Raylan, with his policies, right? But he's young.
00:18:46He communicates well. And I think you go for your Moskowitzes, you go for your Auchinclosses,
00:18:52and you really try to get that center. It seems that Democrats aren't doing that. What are your
00:18:57thoughts? No, they're not at all. Last time I was at the Capitol, Nancy Pelosi was walking around
00:19:01with her Walker, looking like she should have been a retirement home 10 years ago. Really?
00:19:04She was. Are you being serious? I'm fully serious.
00:19:06Physically had a Walker? It was after she fell down.
00:19:08I have not seen that. I have to take your word for that.
00:19:10That right there is why Gen Z got off the sidelines. That's why a generation that in previous
00:19:14elections, first of all, didn't pay attention to politics, didn't go vote on election day,
00:19:18and never voted Republican, got off the sidelines, voted and voted Republican,
00:19:22because we're so fed up. Unlike the left, who when they get frustrated, they dab their hair of blue,
00:19:26put in a nose ring, get a bullhorn, and shut down their streets in New York City protesting,
00:19:29we decided to do some effective action with that frustration, and we took to the ballot box instead of
00:19:33the streets. That said, there is some new polling out here that I do want to report to you. It's from the Pew
00:19:39Research Center, if you guys could help me out here. Recent polling revealing 49 percent
00:19:43of Gen Z is trending back toward the Dems after originally 47 percent identify with the GOP in
00:19:502024. Basically, in a nutshell, that poll shows Republicans had a lead, and now they don't.
00:19:57Should Republicans be concerned with their command of the youth vote?
00:20:01Not at all. I'll say this. I've spoken on 20 college campuses this year alone, and that is
00:20:05completely false. I've seen the students. I am a student starting next week.
00:20:09I can say that this is the furthest thing from the truth. Gen Z men are fed up with being told
00:20:13their masculinity is toxic. We're tired of being villainized by a party that's attempt
00:20:18to bring us over is by calling us Nazis, by calling us garbage. I mean, for far too long,
00:20:24the left has made these safe spaces for us, and finally, Gen Z is choosing freedom over feelings.
00:20:29In November, the president broke this monopoly that we talked about that the DNC had on Gen Z,
00:20:33and he doesn't need to stop there. My message to our party this morning is to do more.
00:20:37That's what Gen Z voted for in this election. We've had an incredible six months of the golden age,
00:20:42an incredible six months of results after results, and promises made, promises kept.
00:20:45But Gen Z wants more. We voted for change, and there's a lot more that can be done.
00:20:48This is what we're wanting here, and I absolutely think that it's attainable,
00:20:51but the Republican Party can't take their foot off the gas. We have the momentum.
00:20:54The Dems don't sleep. We can't sleep either. We have to keep working between now and the midterms
00:20:58to get another two years to get J.D. Vance in the Oval Office come 2028.
00:21:01We have Gen Z on our side. Why can't we lose this now?
00:21:05Yeah. Anecdotally, I mean, you're on the ground. You're actually doing the work.
00:21:08Anecdotally, I have one example that was just from this week, talking to a liberal dad,
00:21:12a friend of mine in liberal Connecticut. He said his kids are all conservative, and that shocked me.
00:21:18I thought that was interesting.
00:21:19Speaking of being on the ground, you're going to college next month.
00:21:23You'll be on the ground at Auburn University.
00:21:25I am.
00:21:25War Eagle to you, sir.
00:21:26War Eagle to you.
00:21:26Good luck. Best of luck. Thanks for coming on the program.
00:21:28Meantime, tributes pouring in from around the world as fans mourn the loss of wrestling

00:21:41this American icon in the ring. He's another American icon. WWE Hall of Famer Sergeant Slaughter

00:23:17The IRS is the most powerful collection agency on earth, and being in debt to the IRS can have serious consequences.

00:26:54Secretary of State Marco Rubio is condemning French President Emmanuel Macron for deciding
00:27:02to recognize Palestinian statehood.
00:27:05The country is the first member of the G7 to do so.
00:27:09Rubio saying on X, quote, this reckless decision only serves Hamas propaganda
00:27:13and sets back peace.
00:27:15It is a slap in the face to the victims of October 7th.
00:27:19And White House Envoy Steve Witkoff also saying the U.S.
00:27:22is pulling out of ceasefire talks with Hamas.
00:27:25Posting on X, quote, we have decided to bring our team home from Doha for consultations after
00:27:32the latest response from Hamas, which clearly shows a lack of desire to reach a ceasefire
00:27:37in Gaza.
00:27:38While the mediators have made a great effort, Hamas does not appear to be coordinated or
00:27:43acting in good faith.
00:27:44We will now consider alternative options to bring the hostages home and try to create a
00:27:49more stable environment for the people of Gaza.
00:27:52Okay.
00:27:53Tributes are pouring in from around the world as fans remember wrestling icon Hulk Hogan,
00:27:58who sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 71.
00:28:02Hulk's family posting on Instagram, may we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind
00:28:08for the millions of fans worldwide, whose lives he touched for more than four decades.
00:28:12He will be missed but never forgotten.
00:28:15And former wrestling legend Ric Flair took to X saying, quote, I am absolutely shocked to hear
00:28:20about the passing of my close friend, Hulk Hogan.
00:28:23Hulk has been by my side since the start in wrestling.
00:28:28An incredible athlete, talent, friend, and father.
00:28:32Hulkster, no one will ever compare to you.
00:28:34Rest in peace, my friend.
00:28:35And President Trump also weighing in on his passing, posting on Truth Social.
00:28:40We lost a great friend today.
00:28:42The Hulkster, Hulk Hogan, was MAGA all the way, strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart,
00:28:48Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed.
00:28:50Our next guest was also a friend and former co-worker of Hulk, even sharing the ring with him
00:28:55many times, including for the main event at WrestleMania 7 in 1991.
00:29:00Joining me now is WWE Hall of Famer, WWE ambassador, and former heavyweight champion, Sergeant Slaughter.
00:29:08Sergeant, thank you so much for joining us.
00:29:09We're so sorry for your loss.
00:29:11I mean, Hulk Hogan was a larger than life person, and it seemed like he still had so much left to give.
00:29:17So how are you feeling this morning?
00:29:18And what are your reflections on his life and your relationship with him?
00:29:24Well, you know, when you're in the business full-time every day, seven days a week, you become family.
00:29:33And as you go along in the business, pretty soon you're not in there as much,
00:29:42and you don't see as much as the people you kind of lived with for years and years.
00:29:49And Hulk and I became friends after we battled each other.
00:29:54And once in a while, we get down to Clearwater, and he'd take me out on this big boat and wine and dine me.
00:30:03There's always plenty of food, and we always had a great time.
00:30:08And he'll be sorely missed, and I really am saddened today
00:30:15to know that he's not here anymore for me to pick up the phone and talk to and go down and see.
00:30:22And, you know, he just was one of those guys.
00:30:27Hulk Hogan was one of the most recognizable humans in the world.
00:30:33Top five, I would say, in the world of being recognized.
00:30:37And so he had to live with that every day of his life.
00:30:41But that's what he wanted.
00:30:43He wanted to be the most recognizable man in the world.
00:30:47And he succeeded.
00:30:50Yeah, man, he certainly did.
00:30:52And he came up at a time where if you were clean cut, you were the good guy, the face.
00:30:57If you had long hair, you were the bad guy.
00:30:58But he became so popular that clearly he needed to become a hero.
00:31:03Can you describe what Hulk Hogan did for professional wrestling?
00:31:08If not for him, would the sport be as popular as it is today?
00:31:13No, no, man.
00:31:15He made professional wrestling what it is today, sports entertainment.
00:31:21He went from professional wrestling to sports entertainment, along with the help of the WWE,
00:31:26the geniuses behind this scene.
00:31:30And his father, Vince McMahon Sr., saw Hulk Hogan and saw what we all saw.
00:31:38He was a little green when he came in, but he wasn't shy on the microphone.
00:31:43He could talk the chrome off a bumper.
00:31:46And he just didn't have the great wrestling skills.
00:31:50So he got kind of sent off away from the WWE at that time.
00:31:56And he got a call from a promoter in Minneapolis, in the AWA called Vergania.
00:32:02And he said, a fellow by the name of Terry Bola, Bola, Bola, Bola, he couldn't say his last name.
00:32:09He said, Bola, and he goes, yes, that's it.
00:32:13He said, I said, what does he want?
00:32:15He said, he wants to come in and wrestle for me.
00:32:17I said, sign him tomorrow.
00:32:20He said, why?
00:32:20Is he that good?
00:32:21I said, he's going to be.
00:32:23He just did a movie with Sylvester Stallone called Rocky 3.
00:32:27Yeah.
00:32:28And he'll be the biggest thing going.
00:32:29And you were right about that.
00:32:32He brought him in.
00:32:34And, you know, he just, they had a fellow by the name of, gosh, I can't remember his name.
00:32:46I went blank here, but Johnny Valiant, Johnny Valiant was the guy that for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks announced that his guy, Hulk Hogan, was coming in.
00:32:57And he featured him as a villain.
00:33:00And as soon as Hulk got there, walked to the ring, he got a standing ovation.
00:33:04So poor Johnny Valiant was out of a job.
00:33:07But, you know, some people in this business and especially our business become legends.
00:33:13Some become legendary and Hulk was legendary.
00:33:17Yeah.
00:33:17Oh, isn't that the truth?
00:33:18And, you know, Hulk Hogan's wife recently said that he was recovering from neck surgery, but that he was okay.
00:33:24I remember listening to a podcast interview he did, Sergeant, where he was talking about how at the start of his career he was 6'7.
00:33:32And now, and then because of all the neck injuries and the back surgeries, he wound up being 6'4.
00:33:38He lost 3 inches in height.
00:33:41So we just have a short time remaining here.
00:33:44But his life was professional wrestling.
00:33:46It really took it out of him physically, though.
00:33:49Yes, it takes it out of you.
00:33:51All that slamming and people don't realize that you're doing that 24-7, seven days a week.
00:33:58And sometimes twice on Saturdays, twice on Sundays, sometimes even more than that.
00:34:03But, yeah, it takes a toll on you.
00:34:05And I remember the last time I was with Hulk, he, I think he was even shorter than that.
00:34:11Because I'm 6'5 and he was shorter than I was standing talking to him.
00:34:16So it did, and I heard that he was going through some neck surgeries and some problems.
00:34:23And that didn't sound good to me.
00:34:26And then, you know, we heard the news that he was in the hospital.
00:34:30There were rumors that he wasn't going well.
00:34:34And I prayed and prayed and prayed.
00:34:35But yesterday morning we got the sad news that he passed.
00:34:40I know.
00:34:41I just can't believe that he's gone.
00:34:42He was just on Fox and Friends in May.
00:34:44And everything seemed fine.
00:34:46He's such a nice man.
00:34:49And we were talking during the commercial break.
00:34:51And you said that he just wanted everybody to succeed and share the success that he had as well.
00:34:56So thank you so much for this wonderful tribute to Hulk Hogan.
00:34:59I know there's a lot of viewers out there who are big fans of his and big fans of yours as well.
00:35:04So we thank you so much for joining us this morning.
00:35:06Thank you, Hulkster.
00:35:08If you're listening, I want that rematch from WrestleMania 7.
00:35:12He said I beat you.
00:35:15God bless you both.
00:35:16And maybe one day up in heaven, hopefully a long time from now for you, that rematch will happen.
00:35:23Sergeant Slaughter, thank you for joining us.
00:35:25Hulk Hogan was 71 years old.
00:35:27My pleasure. You're dismissed.
00:35:28Tough week for Gen X.
00:35:30Malcolm Jamal Warner, Ozzie, and now the Hulk.
00:35:33DHS switching gears announcing that two illegal migrants now facing federal charges
00:35:37in the shooting of an off-duty CBP officer during an attempted robbery.
00:35:41Miguel Nunez, who allegedly shot the officer, charged with one count of possession of ammunition by an illegal alien
00:35:47and his accomplice being charged with being an accessory after the fact.
00:35:51DHS says both suspects entered the U.S. illegally under the Biden administration.
00:35:56Maude Marin is a candidate for Manhattan D.A.
00:35:59She joins me now.
00:36:00And, Maude, the big takeaway, the big news from yesterday, DOJ suing New York City and Mayor Eric Adams over the city's sanctuary policies.
00:36:10Attorney General Pam Bodney writing the following, quote,
00:36:12New York City has released thousands of criminals on the streets to commit violent crimes against law-abiding citizens.
00:36:18Due to sanctuary city policies, if New York City won't stand up for the safety of its citizens, we will.
00:36:24Maude, let's go to the end of this book.
00:36:26Is this the case, the case that ends up ending sanctuary cities, not just in New York City,
00:36:32but across our country when it ultimately has to go to the Supreme Court?
00:36:36Well, I think, Todd, that a lot of people would like to see that,
00:36:41because, you know, the corrections officer, rather the customs officer who was shot,
00:36:47that's an American citizen who is doing his job.
00:36:51And we have a situation where everyday New Yorkers know that that could be them,
00:36:55that we're faced with having people who have come into this country illegally,
00:37:00who are not respecting our laws, and who, because of our local laws in New York,
00:37:04are no longer being detained when they commit crimes.
00:37:07Both of these individuals had cycled in and out of the jail system,
00:37:11and under our previous laws, would have been incarcerated
00:37:14and wouldn't have been able to shoot this officer.
00:37:17But because of the decarceration policies, because of the cashless bail policies,
00:37:22and because of the impulse of our city council and of our mayoral candidates
00:37:26who want to defund the police, these folks are on the street.
00:37:30And it's dangerous not just for the officers, it's also dangerous for everyday New Yorkers
00:37:37who have to walk the streets.
00:37:39The mayor obviously wants to have it both ways, his office responding the following,
00:37:43quote,
00:37:43Keeping New Yorkers safe also means making sure they feel safe.
00:37:46That's why the mayor supports the essence of the local laws put in place by the city council.
00:37:51But he has also been clear that they go too far when it comes to dealing with
00:37:54those violent criminals on our streets.
00:37:57This, of course, getting to the essence of the argument
00:38:00that you want these illegal immigrants to feel safe to report crime
00:38:05when a crime is committed, because if they have to remain in the shadows,
00:38:08that's bad for society overall.
00:38:10As DA, how would you navigate that concern, Maude?
00:38:14You know, like everything, sanctuary city laws, Todd,
00:38:18stem from an initial impulse or initial good idea
00:38:21and then get taken way too far.
00:38:23Of course, we want all New Yorkers to be able to report crime.
00:38:27That's something that Andrew Giuliani stood up for when he was the mayor.
00:38:31But when you take it too far and you couple it with the bail laws
00:38:36and the laws that we see coming out of Albany,
00:38:38where we can't hold people in jail who have committed crimes,
00:38:42then we make things unsafe.
00:38:44We make things deeply unsafe for all New Yorkers
00:38:46who need to take the subways, who need to walk down the streets
00:38:50and for kids who need to get to school.
00:38:52So what we need to do is make sure that everybody in New York,
00:38:56law enforcement, local law enforcement,
00:38:58is cooperating with federal law enforcement
00:39:00so that people who are breaking the laws
00:39:03can be detained by immigration authorities
00:39:05when they need to and make our streets safer.
00:39:07That's an interesting reference back to the administration
00:39:09of one Rudy Giuliani.
00:39:11We'll see what happens.
00:39:12You're running.
00:39:13We'll see what happens ultimately if you win.
00:39:15Maude Maron, thank you for joining us as always.
00:39:17Thanks so much, Todd.
00:39:18All right, today's a big day, Carly.

00:44:25President Trump touring the under-construction Federal Reserve
00:44:29with Chairman Jerome Powell once again calling for an end to high interest rates.
00:44:33Watch this.
00:44:34Are there things the chairman can say to you today
00:44:37that would make you back off some of the earlier criticism?
00:44:40Well, I'd love him to lower interest rates.
00:44:43Other than that, what can I tell you?
00:44:45Cheryl Coussody is here with more.
00:44:47Cheryl, the Fed has never been more intriguing.
00:44:50The backslap.
00:44:51That was quite the moment.
00:44:53Yet, awkward would have been one way to describe this moment,
00:44:57but it was certainly made for television.
00:44:59And there were some lighter moments, we have to say,
00:45:01between President Trump and Jerome Powell.
00:45:03There has been no love lost, especially from President Trump,
00:45:06when it comes to his criticism of Powell calling him too late, Powell.
00:45:09But what was interesting is Powell kind of got back at the president a little bit.
00:45:14There was this little back and forth over the cost overruns.
00:45:18Watch this part of it.
00:45:19So we're taking a look, and it looks like it's about $3.1 billion.
00:45:25It went up a little bit, or a lot.
00:45:28So the $2.7 billion is now $3.1 billion.
00:45:31I'm not aware of that.
00:45:32Yeah, it just came out.
00:45:34Yeah, I haven't heard that from anybody at the Fed.
00:45:37You're including the Martin renovation.
00:45:39You just added in a third building is what that is.
00:45:43We finished Martin five years ago.
00:45:44It's part of the overall work.
00:45:46It, I don't even, I can't even add any more to that than what was, it was quite the,
00:45:54but yeah, he says, you know, wait a minute.
00:45:55I have to say, I got the sense at the end of this and looking at what the president was
00:46:00posting on social media after this meeting, that I think he has a little, he kind of respected,
00:46:05I think, Powell pushing back a little bit.
00:46:07I think there was a healthy back and forth between the two gentlemen.
00:46:10They walked around.
00:46:10They did have a private conversation.
00:46:12And it does not sound from anything that the president said yesterday, he could change
00:46:17his mind, of course, that he's going to try and fire Jerome Powell.
00:46:20The legal battle alone would be, look, he's out next May.
00:46:24He's been in there for eight years.
00:46:26Powell has been steadfast.
00:46:28And look, President Trump says lower interest rates, lower the borrowing costs for the American
00:46:31people, fair point, Powell is sticking to his guns, that if he's, he's waiting to see if
00:46:37there's going to be inflation from the tariffs.
00:46:39They're going to meet next week.
00:46:40Nobody on Wall Street expects a rate cut next week, but September?
00:46:44Yeah, you're getting in September.
00:46:45Yeah.
00:46:45I think they should continue all communications from now on in hard hats because it seems to
00:46:49work.
00:46:49You know, the other thing I really liked about, that's, that is President Trump's, you know,
00:46:53comfort spot.
00:46:54Yeah.
00:46:55The man is a, is a real estate genius, right?
00:46:57I mean, half the buildings in New York, I mean, look at what he's done, so.
00:47:00Well, the images coming out from the Fed and the construction and talking about the
00:47:04numbers, there were certainly something.
00:47:06So we thank you for bringing them to us today.
00:47:09Don't miss Cheryl on Mornings with Maria.
00:47:10Cheryl, thank you.
00:47:11All right.
00:47:12As we had mentioned, today is National Hire a Veteran Day.
00:47:15Veterans across the country are looking for employment after serving our country.
00:47:19And our next guest is going to break down how these vets are ready-made employees.
00:47:24Joining me now is VA Secretary Doug Collins.
00:47:26Mr. Secretary, thank you so much for joining us today.
00:47:29So from military service to high-quality civilian careers, why should that be happening
00:47:35for more veterans in our country?
00:47:37Well, good morning, everybody.
00:47:38Why should it be happening is just, look, veterans come with a discipline, they come with a work ethic,
00:47:42they come with a sense of duty beyond themselves.
00:47:45And I think that's one of the things that veterans bring to the table.
00:47:47They also bring leadership qualities.
00:47:49From the moment they come into the military, they're taught leadership skills.
00:47:52And those are the kind of things that can then be transformed into, you know, all kinds of enterprises
00:47:57and education and things that just really make them a great employee.
00:48:00They know when to show up on time.
00:48:02You don't have to, most of them understand they don't have to, they can't sleep in.
00:48:05They're going to be there ready to work.
00:48:06And I think our veterans are some of the best employees that you could hire.
00:48:09Yeah, it seems like one of the best resume builders of all time.
00:48:12The self-assistentness, the need to serve, the mission focus that veterans have.
00:48:17But there are challenges.
00:48:18What are some of the biggest challenges veterans face when they're transitioning to civilian life?
00:48:23And how do you plan to alleviate those?
00:48:26Yeah, that's a great question because it's one of the issues.
00:48:28Because you go from a structured environment, you go in an environment that's a team environment.
00:48:32Everybody's, you know, pulling together for the same purpose.
00:48:35And then when you get out, it's almost like, you know, I would say like for most who don't serve in military,
00:48:39maybe like graduating from school or graduating from college,
00:48:42you sort of lose that safety net, if you would.
00:48:44You lose the constant camaraderie that you've had.
00:48:46And so I think the transition for folks is to understand that the veteran has been,
00:48:50especially if they've served for a long time and, again, deployed and been a part of our military,
00:48:54there is a big transition.
00:48:56And I think understanding that is something that we can help with.
00:48:59And that would be everyone is just making sure that, you know,
00:49:01they find their niche, find the purpose and their mission going forward,
00:49:07whether it be in a civilian job or even in retirement.
00:49:09But we also got to just look out sometimes, I think, for folks just to make sure that you've got to,
00:49:14to hire a veteran, you're hiring a thoroughbred.
00:49:17You're hiring, you know, someone that wants to get out and do the job.
00:49:19So make sure you give them the purpose and the motivation to do that.
00:49:22Yeah. And, you know, Mr. Secretary, while military recruitment is up right now,
00:49:27I think one way to keep it that way is to highlight veterans who are successful after their service is over.
00:49:32So I don't think it's much of a stretch to say that hiring veterans and maintaining success after service
00:49:38can contribute to our national security.
00:49:42Oh, it's definitely a national security issue.
00:49:43I've said this before, the DOD and the VA are, in some ways, fraternal twins.
00:49:47We handle the same group of people just in different arenas.
00:49:50And for me, when they get out of the military service,
00:49:53this is just an excellent time to showcase not only what we can do,
00:49:57but look how many veteran-owned businesses there are.
00:50:00Look at the things that we have to offer at the VA.
00:50:01You can go to VA.gov and learn about the benefits that they've earned
00:50:05to start businesses, to get new education, to get the training that they need.
00:50:09We're providing everything they can to succeed.
00:50:11And, look, some of our best companies and a lot of our newest startups are started by veterans.
00:50:16Yeah. And we also need more veterans in Congress as well,
00:50:19which you were one, you were in Congress, and now you're the VA secretary.
00:50:23So maybe the person that I was talking about that was successful that we could highlight is you.
00:50:27Although, of course, we know you.
00:50:28You would never want to make this segment about yourself.
00:50:30VA secretary Doug Collins, thank you so much for joining us.
00:50:33So good to see y'all. Y'all take care.
00:50:34Good to see you. Yes, you too.
00:50:36All right, senior meteorologist Janice Steen has our Fox weather forecast live from the Ohio State Fair.
00:50:40Hey, J.D.
00:50:43Hello. Good morning.
00:50:44Oh, my gosh. We had so much fun yesterday.
00:50:46I'm going to talk about that in just a second.
00:50:48But here at the Ohio State Fair, it's going to be hot and sticky,
00:50:51but we are ready for so much fun, 170 years here at the Ohio State Fair.
00:50:57And, by the way, Fox News is going to be across the nation
00:51:00bringing you all of this fun at different state fairs.
00:51:05Ohio State is the first one.
00:51:07And yesterday, I had a look at one of their most famous exhibits, the butter cow.
00:51:13Take a look.
00:51:14This is where the famous butter cow lives.
00:51:19Let's go see it.
00:51:19This year's display uses 2,000 pounds of butter.
00:51:252,000.
00:51:27Now, have you seen a butter cow before?
00:51:30No.
00:51:31No? This is the first time?
00:51:32Yes.
00:51:33So what do you think?
00:51:34It looks pretty good.
00:51:35Okay, so that's just a sneak peek of what you're going to see during Fox & Friends.
00:51:42And, by the way, we have an activation set up with a curvy couch, a green screen, and all sorts of fun.
00:51:49So you're going to stay with us.
00:51:50Fox & Friends returns after the break.

00:56:04Lieutenant Colombo, not working on a case.
00:56:07What, are you in trouble?
00:56:12Let's go.
00:56:13The evidence that's come out is very compelling.
00:56:19Who is Brian Kohlberger?
00:56:21Mark Furman hosts three exclusive specials, Digital Shadows, Savage Instincts, and Moscow Murders.
00:56:27All streaming now, only on Fox Nation.
00:56:30Take that, Steve Ducey, and move over pickleball.
00:56:36Paddle is sweeping the nation, becoming one of the nation's fastest-growing sports.
00:56:40That's right.
00:56:40And this is in part thanks to Santiago Gomez, the founder of the nationwide club called Paddle House.
00:56:46And he joins us now.
00:56:48Santiago, thank you so much for joining us.
00:56:50So why is Paddle the fastest-growing sport in the world?
00:56:54Well, Paddle's played in more than 183 countries.
00:56:57It started in the U.S. three years ago, and it's becoming the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. as well.
00:57:03Okay, so what is, like, how does it differ from pickleball?
00:57:07So, Paddle's similar to squash and tennis.
00:57:09You have walls in the back.
00:57:11You can see a court right here.
00:57:12And you can use the glass walls to play off the wall.
00:57:17So, is it easier than tennis, harder than pickleball?
00:57:20Where would you put it?
00:57:20Who is it?
00:57:21Four, young, old, all ages?
00:57:23I think it's easier than tennis.
00:57:25In tennis, the difference is you have strings.
00:57:26And typically, when you're playing against someone else, the skill level is, you have to be similar to your opponent to have fun.
00:57:35If I play with my parents, I don't have fun.
00:57:38If I play with my girlfriend, I don't have fun.
00:57:40And Paddle, I have fun with everyone you want.
00:57:43Oh, cool.
00:57:43Yeah, I mean, I gotta go to negative town.
00:57:45You know, we've reported on a lot of pickleball injuries.
00:57:48Is this a sport that generates a lot of injuries, or is this safer than the dangerous, violent sport of pickleball?
00:57:53I didn't know pickleball was violent.
00:57:55Paddle's played in a turf.
00:57:56So, you don't have knee injuries.
00:57:57Oh, there you go.
00:57:59Oh, that is important.
00:58:00Yeah.
00:58:00Yeah, it's like a spongy turf.
00:58:03So, it's softer on your knees.
00:58:04Wow.
00:58:04So, tell us about Paddle House.
00:58:06We said that you started this.
00:58:08And it's growing.
00:58:09You're trying to get courts across the country.
00:58:12It's growing.
00:58:12We opened our first location here in Williamsburg.
00:58:15We shortly after opened our Dumbo location.
00:58:18And now we're going nationwide.
00:58:19We opened a club in Nashville, Tennessee.
00:58:21We're opening next week a club in Atlanta, Georgia.
00:58:24Denver, Colorado.
00:58:26And furthermore, in the West Coast.
00:58:28Okay.
00:58:28For those of you not from the city, Dumbo, he doesn't mean the ride in Disney.
00:58:31It's a section of New York City.
00:58:33So, let's play a little.
00:58:34Yeah.
00:58:34Without breaking the studio, as I've been asked by the producers to not do.
00:58:38Okay.
00:58:38So, I'm going to...
00:58:39Can we volley?
00:58:39Is that what it's called?
00:58:40Volley?
00:58:40You can volley.
00:58:41All right.
00:58:41You ready?
00:58:42Bounce the ball.
00:58:46Nice.
00:58:46Oh, Todd, you're good.
00:58:49I'm a natural athlete, Carly, despite what everybody here says.
00:58:52This is really good.
00:58:54So, Santiago, do you think that something like this could ever become an Olympic sport?
00:58:59Yeah.
00:58:59I mean, it's in order for an Olympic sport to classify as an Olympic, it needs to be played
00:59:03by more than 175.
00:59:05I drove it by the paddle man.
00:59:07Did Todd get a point off of you?
00:59:08He got a point.
00:59:09But you were answering the question.
00:59:10But no, really, I am curious about the Olympic element of it.
00:59:12Because you said that it's popular in other countries.
00:59:15It's coming to the United States.
00:59:16Is it going to be an Olympic sport this time around when the Olympics are in the U.S.?
00:59:19Not in the U.S., perhaps the next ones.
00:59:21The thing is, you need to be present and played in five continents and have more than
00:59:26175 federations, which the sport is at.
