00:00After 100 years of calling Wayville home, South Australia's longest running event is proving to be just as popular as ever.
00:11Much better, yeah, I love it this year.
00:13Among the tasty treats, carnival games and other usual favourites, there's a new instalment.
00:19Everything you've come to expect, the fireworks, but it's probably three times as long as normal.
00:23Pyrotechnics, drones, the V8s, so that's a great celebration.
00:27But enjoying all of the attractions doesn't come cheap.
00:30With a slight rise in ticket prices on top of the ongoing cost of living prices, families say it's becoming harder to budget for the big day.
00:39There's families out there that aren't going to be able to afford, you know, with everything else going up and that, but it's definitely getting more expensive.
00:46We just try to, just for the kids, because it's so fun for them, so we just manage it.
00:51Organisers hope the more than 100 free activities on offer will still attract a bumper turnout.
00:57We know that about one in three South Australians come to the Adelaide show each year.
01:01It makes us the biggest show in Australia on a per capita basis, so thankfully the weather's cleared up.
01:06We've got some blue skies, the wind's gone, so yeah, there are going to be some fantastic crowds.
01:10Show-goers won't be the only ones arriving in droves. Compared to recent years, there'll also be more farmers competing.
01:17And despite the fact they've endured tough drought conditions, they say the annual event is a welcome return.
01:23It does give an opportunity to probably showcase what you are producing, but also benchmark a little bit.
01:28It's also an excuse to get away from the farm for a week.
01:31And it is a big thing, keeping my mental health, I guess, so staying connected and talking to each other, definitely.
01:37From the farm lovers to the thrill seekers, there's still eight more days of fun, so enjoy the ride.
