00:00Hello and welcome to this Jane's weather update. This is for Australia wide updated on Monday. What
00:08we have today is stream showers still coming into the east coasting through here. They really don't
00:12extend much further inland and they will dry up over the next couple of days. Here's the remains
00:17of a cold front. It was big, it was strong when it crossed the west on the weekend. Now it's lost
00:22its connection to tropical moisture and it's also sliding southwards. So we're not going to see much
00:26more from that one but there are bigger things that are brewing in behind it. So let's have a look
00:31day by day. Here is Monday. Here's our stream showers from about the Sunshine Coast right through to the
00:36southern coast of New South Wales. They really don't extend far inland, nothing anywhere west of the
00:41divide. Here's the remains of that cold front today. Now by the end of it the cold front is running down
00:46in through here and you can see how it's fairly standing up like that which means it's running
00:51out of oomph. It peaked over in the west and now it's just going to slide because we have a high
00:56pressure system out to the southeast here and the next high is already coming in in behind it. So
01:00this one from here will just slide across the southeast. So it's lost its moisture and it's
01:05losing its instability. Otherwise fairly dry in the southwest today. Let's have a look at that one
01:10for Tuesday. So here it is sliding across the southeast. This is delivering, let's have a look
01:15here, maybe five to ten millimeters. That is at best. We're looking at two to five and then even less
01:20than that as that comes through. The northwestern part of Tasmania gets it because again it is sliding
01:25down from there and then by Wednesday that is just clearing out the next high pressure system has
01:30come in. So that's what we're looking at over the next couple of days. The focus is going to be in
01:34the southeast. That's not going to bring anything significant. Let's now move over to the west as we
01:38move into the mid part of the week. Here we have Thursday. Now the trajectory of this front is quite
01:44different. Have a look how it is on an angle running down in through here by the end of Thursday. No longer
01:50upright. It is back here like this. So that means its trajectory can keep on moving through. It has a
01:55nice connection to tropical moisture here because the high pressure systems have split allowing that
02:01feed to take place. So this is what we're looking at as it moves across the southwest on Thursday 15 to
02:0625. Not as much as the last one. The last one peaked there. This one is still building as it moves past
02:12five to ten as you head inland two to five in through there. Let's watch that move through. I'm going to put
02:17in a new feature here. So let's just put our snow level thickness. This tells us how warm or cold the
02:23air actually is. Now have a look at all of this that's coming in in behind it. So these light blue
02:28and then dark blue and then purple lines. That's 600 meters, 300 meters and sea level. That's how low
02:35the snow can fall. As in this is a proper cold outbreak. So here we have just the top of that as it
02:42moves across these parts of Western Australia. Let's watch it as it moves into the southeast.
02:46So that's Thursday. Here we have now on Friday. Cold air in behind it. The cold rupture here by the end
02:53of the day. The wet weather pushing on through. Look at it extending right into southern parts of
02:58New South Wales there. So this one is a stronger one. It is more significant. It's not huge falls but
03:03it is something that is going to make just you definitely going to notice it as it comes through
03:07rather than sliding. So it is on its way in and that is just the first part. So here's the cold air by the
03:14end of the day. Let's have a look at Saturday. Here's the cold air now right over the southeast
03:19of the country by the end of Saturday. The cold front well out to sea in through here and there
03:24is another one that is brewing in behind it again with that sort of trajectory so it can keep moving
03:29in through here. So we're going to see yet another punch from that one. So this is by the end of
03:33Saturday. This here into Sunday that's 900 maybe even 800 meters of snow of snow level coming down
03:40and then as we go into Monday that cold pool is right there over northern parts of New South Wales
03:45extending into Queensland. So all of the southeast is going to feel this cold outbreak right up into
03:52Queensland as well. All right let's have a look at what that means in terms of totals as we go through.
03:57This as it affects the west we saw our 15 to 25 and then grading downwards as it headed inland.
04:03In the southeast these are better falls than we've had in a little while. So 15 to 25, 10 to 15,
04:09even 5 to 10 as we go through the riverine and through here. Increasing as it moves into the
04:13ranges there. Decreasing as it moves across the other side. This is coming from the west. It is not
04:18an east coast thing. Cold air will reach there yes but not the wet weather. All of this is the stream
04:23showers from earlier on in the week. We're looking at 25 to 50 in these western parts of Tasmania
04:28and it doesn't decrease too much as it heads across the east. This one it's the southwest and
04:34up into the ranges and western parts of Gippsland. So all of that are the exposed parts that do the
04:39best from this sort of system as it comes through. As always head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
