00:00Oh, I see the buzz is back, but the bite's a bit smaller.
00:03Here's a look at the new trick-or-treat stews, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 Killing Mask 5-inch figure.
00:20From the infamous 1974 film that changed the face of horror,
00:24comes the Texas Chainsaw Massacre official 5-inch Leatherface action figure.
00:28Leatherface features chainsaw-wielding action, just squeeze his legs and let the saw fly.
00:34Oh, I see the Sawyers are having another barbecue and they've sent out the invites.
00:37What's it say at the bottom? B-Y-O-B.
00:40Oh, bring your own body. I see what they did there.
00:44We're going to see what this guy does here, but first, of course, we're going to take the tape measure
00:48and see how tall the new Trick-or-Treat Studios Texas Chainsaw Massacre Killing Mask 5-inch figure of Leatherface stands.
00:54They did actually pick this up over on their site.
00:56You'll be happy to know as well that the figure, as well as the other 5-inch figures of the Sawyer clan,
01:02are available right now over on their site.
01:04Act fast, because I'm sure these things will be selling out like hotcakes.
01:08As for how tall Leatherface is going to stand, if the tape measure is reading right,
01:12you're looking at the figure standing 5 3⁄4 in height,
01:16working out to be a figure that's 14 centimeters tall.
01:18The good news about the size of Sawyer is he scales perfectly with the previously released,
01:23previously looked at, and previously collected House of a Thousand Corks' Captain Spaulding.
01:28If you prefer your art the clown instead to be the killer on your collection shelf,
01:32then he also fits in well with that.
01:34Now, the bad news, though, obviously, if you're collecting the screen grates,
01:38it ain't going to cut it, so to speak.
01:40If you're looking to display, say, with Farmer Vincent,
01:42as you can clearly see, though, Leatherface comes up a little too short.
01:46Checking out the dining room table with all the trimmings and the stuffing.
01:49Tots and Ollie are releasing a Slaughter Mask Leatherface,
01:51the pretty woman, the hitchhiker, the chef.
01:54But speaking of dining room tables, yeah, they're doing the dinner scene playset as well.
01:58Each of the individual figures are going to be slated to sell for $24.99,
02:02and the dining room playset sells for $69.99.
02:05So it's a good chance to get smaller scale figures that have working gimmicks,
02:09as Leatherface certainly has that as well.
02:11Before we look at the thing he does, let's look at the thing he has.
02:13So the figure does come in clue with a fairly nice replica of the $74 chainsaw.
02:18If we look at the chainsaw, I don't see much really in the way of blood.
02:21Now, he has probably cleaned this off just before sitting down to eat.
02:25The teeth themselves do feel like there's a little bit of...
02:28There's definitely...
02:29You can feel not sharpness necessarily,
02:32but you can really feel if this thing was moving,
02:34it could easily slice off my thumb.
02:38So I'm going to be very careful of that.
02:39The color, again, is pretty close to what we got from the $74 film,
02:42making that more of a greenish yellow than the yellow that we used to get
02:46with a lot of collectibles in the past.
02:48This does, though, fit into his hands.
02:50He actually can either hold it in one hand,
02:52or if you prefer to have him double-handle holding this,
02:56you can also do that as well.
02:57Simply just take yourself your Leatherface.
02:59Now, you'll notice right away, out the gate,
03:01the figure does also have gripping hands.
03:03So again, you can either have him holding the chainsaw just with one hand,
03:06whirling it around like a maniac.
03:10Or you can also swing this around.
03:12And I've noticed at least the plastic for the hands are soft enough to easily bend.
03:16And speaking of bending, just bring around the chainsaw
03:19so he's holding it in both hands.
03:23Now, I'm not just going to do this in sound effects alone.
03:27The figure does also have a working gimmick.
03:29If you squeeze his legs together,
03:31you'll notice, though, that the legs are a little lower down
03:34than where his waist would be.
03:35And that's just because, again, like when you squeeze the legs,
03:38Leatherface does bring the chainsaw up.
03:40Minus, though, the sound effects that the person behind the camera was doing earlier.
03:44I mean, it does what it needs to do.
03:46I don't expect this really to recreate,
03:49essentially, what a Leatherface should really be doing with sound effects
03:52and screaming in the background.
03:55If this really is supposed to be a gimmicked toy
03:57from like the 80s, the late 70s, and early 80s,
04:00then I think it really needs to do what it's doing right now.
04:03Now, I've tried this, though.
04:04You can also bring the arms up.
04:06Now, they don't necessarily...
04:08When you had old toys from the 80s,
04:10a lot of times with arms that would move or legs that would move,
04:13more so arms,
04:14a lot of times you could also bring the arms up.
04:16You'd often hear like a click,
04:18like it's hitting the next ratchet joint,
04:20and then you'd be able to swing the arm a little higher than before.
04:23Leatherface doesn't seem to do that as well.
04:25I mean, as you bring the arms up,
04:27it doesn't necessarily give that clicking sound
04:29that tells you right away,
04:29oh, I'm at the next level.
04:32But I guess if you do bring the arms a little higher up,
04:34he does swing it.
04:35He may not, though, be able to swing it, I'm sure,
04:37just above his head.
04:39It's still pretty fun for a gimmick.
04:40I probably spent at least 45 minutes to an hour
04:44getting this guy the packaging
04:45and just literally doing what he's doing right now.
04:48The thing about it, though,
04:48is with the waving around of the arms,
04:51sometimes, though, the chainsaw does fall out of his hands.
04:54This one hand especially
04:55is the one that kind of holds onto the handle.
04:57I suppose you probably could have it facing around the other way.
04:59I kind of prefer to have the facing chainsaw this way.
05:03But I've noticed with this hand,
05:04it is a little more relaxed,
05:05and that doesn't seem to be the one
05:07that holds the chainsaw handle the best.
05:09So this might fall off from time to time
05:11as you're squeezing the legs back and forth.
05:13The figure does have surprisingly good levels of posability as well.
05:17I really just thought that this guy would have
05:19only just a straight swivel in the head.
05:21I mean, really, the arms,
05:22you can't really do all that much.
05:23And then the legs themselves would be really the working part of the gimmick.
05:27But surprisingly, though,
05:27he actually has a lot more than you'd expect.
05:30I think before, though,
05:31we look at the things that he can actually do for posability,
05:33let's look at his head sculpt.
05:35Now, the Killing Mask, of course,
05:36is the classic look to the 74 leather face.
05:39I still really prefer the pretty woman myself.
05:42I think for the size of the figure,
05:43I think the details certainly are there as well.
05:45I mean, it doesn't have a whole lot of paint on the face,
05:48but I don't really feel necessarily it needs it either.
05:50Of course, also, the mask is a different discoloration
05:53from the face that's underneath.
05:55You can still see that he's got the eyes,
05:57though they're much further back there.
05:59The teeth also there as well.
06:01Those look to be summer teeth.
06:03Some are there and some are not.
06:04But the teeth are nicely painted there, too.
06:06The mask, I feel,
06:07probably could have been just a little bit more yellowish,
06:10but I think it still looks pretty good.
06:12Of course, he does have himself his dress shirt.
06:14The tie is actually made of more of a soft plastic.
06:18It does stick out also from the apron.
06:20I suppose if you wanted to,
06:22you probably could still tuck this underneath the apron.
06:24After all, the apron is just a material.
06:26The material is kind of more like,
06:28if you remember like the old capes in the days of Star Wars,
06:32where it really wasn't a fabric and it really wasn't a paper.
06:35It's meeting the material somewhere in the middle.
06:37It's kind of very similar to that.
06:39Hoping by just the way I'm running my fingers across that you can kind of gauge.
06:43Yeah, it's kind of that paper fabric material,
06:45but it works really well for Leatherface.
06:47Now there's blood splatter all over his apron.
06:51So it's surprising, though,
06:52that his chainsaw still is generally quite clean.
06:55And yet, though, his apron,
06:57he hasn't taken the time to wash that off.
06:59He has probably just had a recent cut.
07:01Now the apron does look like it fits over top of his head
07:04and it's tied off the back.
07:05It has that kind of tied off knot, though,
07:08that as I'm looking at it,
07:09I know I'm so tempted.
07:11Are you the,
07:12am I the only one that does this?
07:13When you look at something like this,
07:14you just feel so,
07:15oh, I'm so compelled just to kind of pull this
07:17and unravel the knot.
07:18But I know I'm never going to be able to tie it off
07:20as cleanly and as tightly
07:22as Tots has already done with theirs.
07:24The look of the back of the jeans look good.
07:26I mean, again,
07:27you've got more of a darker colored blue.
07:29The one thing, though,
07:30about the cowboy boots is
07:31the cowboy boots don't have any posability.
07:33So don't expect to move the legs back
07:35or move the feet back and forth.
07:37Luckily, though,
07:37they do have pegles on the bottoms.
07:39While there is no display stand,
07:41it comes in clear with Leatherface.
07:42One thing, though,
07:43I have noticed is Leatherface,
07:44by gimmick more so,
07:45I would imagine,
07:47he has a little harder of a time to stand.
07:49So if you kind of just put him down
07:50and you lean him forward,
07:52seems to be the best way to display the figure.
07:55Now for Leatherface's articulation,
07:57here comes the surprising parts.
07:59The fact that he has a lot more
08:00than you probably would think.
08:02The head's first of all
08:02going to be on a ball joint.
08:03So right out the gate,
08:04you can rotate the head all the way around.
08:07You can look up and down
08:08and back and forth.
08:09The arms clearly are more functioned to gimmick,
08:13so you really can't do much more
08:14than what they're doing right now.
08:15However, though,
08:16the arms do swivel back and forth.
08:18As well,
08:19you can take the hands and do the same.
08:21I really didn't think
08:22that they would have anything like that
08:24actually on Leatherface.
08:25I just thought,
08:26if anything,
08:27his arm would be the thing
08:28that does all the motion
08:29or the movement.
08:30And just figured, though,
08:31that the forearm and the hands
08:32would all just basically be
08:34one molded piece.
08:35But again,
08:35really surprised to see
08:36that they incorporate some swivelage.
08:39Nice swivelage there in the elbow.
08:40And again,
08:41you can do that in his hands.
08:42He doesn't have anything,
08:43though,
08:43in the waist,
08:44so don't try to twist it.
08:46That's only probably going to be
08:47snapping the figure.
08:48And even though,
08:49really,
08:49again,
08:49so much is heavily gimmicked
08:51on the tops of his thigh,
08:52because, again,
08:52that's the thing that's going to allow
08:53his arms to move.
08:54He has, though,
08:55actually knee articulation.
08:57Fancy that.
08:58Leatherface can actually move his knees.
09:00All in all,
09:01though,
09:01it's a really nice-looking Leatherface.
09:02Let's go ahead
09:02and get the chainsaw
09:04back into his hand.
09:06I did state already
09:08that there is also
09:08a Pretty Woman Leatherface.
09:10Now,
09:10I actually had ordered
09:11the Leatherface,
09:12both Leatherfaces,
09:13at the exact same time.
09:14I guess maybe
09:15it may have been a case
09:16where maybe,
09:17I don't know if they just
09:18didn't have the stock available,
09:20or maybe,
09:21like,
09:21the Pretty Woman Leatherface
09:22was more in a limited stock quantity.
09:25Needless to say,
09:25those Slaughtermasks
09:26arrived first,
09:27and then Pretty Woman
09:28is still on her way,
09:29so,
09:30or on his way.
09:31So,
09:31of course,
09:31we will be looking at
09:32that version of Leatherface
09:33when the figure
09:34eventually gets to my doorstep.
09:37Nice overall look
09:37to Leatherface.
09:38Again,
09:39if you are one
09:39that likes to really collect
09:40these kind of retro figures
09:42that Tots have been
09:43turning out in the past,
09:44whether it be
09:45the House of a Thousand Corpses,
09:46Captain Spaulding,
09:47as the example,
09:48whether it be
09:48maybe like Art the Clown,
09:49if you prefer Art instead.
09:51I like that Leatherface
09:52is scaled at least to that.
09:54Again,
09:55like when they are releasing
09:56the other figures
09:56that they have planned,
09:57like the Hitchhiker,
09:58the Cook,
09:59also even like
10:00the Dining Room set,
10:01everything is scaled
10:02with the idea in mind
10:03that five inches
10:04is the size really
10:05that they want to go with.
10:07Five inches,
10:07perfect,
10:08I feel,
10:08for a kid to be carrying around,
10:09not really that the kid
10:10should be carrying around,
10:12a killer that's known
10:13for wielding around
10:13a chainsaw,
10:15but I do actually like
10:15the scale is the right size.
10:17It's something too as well
10:18that if you already have
10:19the House of a Thousand Corpses,
10:20the collector's case,
10:21Leatherface could fit
10:22inside of that.
10:23I wonder if they're probably
10:24going to be doing
10:24something as well.
10:25Art the Clown
10:26was sold sort of
10:27a standalone figure
10:28until we get more
10:28terrifier figures from Tots.
10:31However, though,
10:32Texas Chainsaw Massacre,
10:33being that they've already
10:34now planned four figures
10:35and then the Dining Room set,
10:37maybe they might also
10:38release a collector's case
10:39for Leatherface
10:39and his family clan.
10:41That would be
10:41certainly fun.
10:42I really did like
10:43the one that they did
10:43for the House of a Thousand Corpses,
10:45and I hope they do that
10:46as well for the Sawyers.
10:47Questions and curiosity
10:48led me to moving
10:49the arms above
10:50Leatherface's head
10:51just to see if the gimmick
10:52would still work,
10:53and it does.
10:54Yeah, the arms still
10:55do move back and forth,
10:56although they move
10:57a lot easier, obviously,
10:58if he's got the chainsaw
10:59and his arms in the front
11:00of his stomach,
11:00but the fact that
11:01they still move,
11:03sometimes, though,
11:03gimmicks can only go so far,
11:05and a lot of times,
11:06even if he collected
11:07the old superpowers figures,
11:08you would know this, too.
11:09When he generally moved arms,
11:10you would hear,
11:11and you would know
11:13it was either going
11:13to the next step
11:14of where the arms could move,
11:16or you have been now reminded
11:18you've broken the figure.
11:19Luckily, though,
11:20it didn't break the figure
11:21of Leatherface.
11:21He's still waving
11:22around his chainsaw,
11:24although he doesn't tend
11:24to do this wearing
11:25the slaughter mask.
11:26This is more of a better fit
11:27when he's the pretty woman.
11:29Now, one thing that's fun,
11:30though, about this line
11:30is not only the fact
11:31that they've retained
11:32articulation and the fact
11:33that there's still
11:34a working gimmick,
11:35but the price of still
11:36what Tots are setting
11:37these figures for,
11:38$24.99.
11:39$25 a piece.
11:41If you guys are also interested,
11:42they're selling
11:43the dining room play set.
11:44The dining room set,
11:45though,
11:46while not having
11:46the other figures,
11:47does still include
11:48Grandpa and Sally.
11:50So if you are looking
11:50to get that one,
11:51that one's selling
11:52for $69.99
11:53over on their site.
11:54What do you guys,
11:55though,
11:55think of these new
11:56retro 5-inch
11:57Texas Chainsaw Massacre
11:58Leatherface figures?
11:59Have you guys had
12:00the chance to pick
12:01any ones up?
12:01And if you have,
12:02let me know down below
12:03in the comments section
12:04which ones they were.
12:05If you guys did also
12:06enjoy this video,
12:07come on now,
12:08come on,
12:09why not hit it with a like?
12:10If you guys want to
12:10stick around for more so,
12:11I hope so.
12:12We're going to have
12:13some more videos,
12:13obviously,
12:14coming your way
12:14through the pipeline.
12:16So if that's certainly
12:17what you would like
12:18to check out more
12:18on this channel,
12:19just know there's
12:20a lot more coming your way.
