Bristol City “raring to go” says captain Jason Knight

00:00Bristol City are raring to go, they are the words of their captain Jason Knight, ahead

00:05of their first game of the championship season against Sheffield United.

00:09No, it doesn't feel too long, but raring to go now, obviously a few things have changed

00:21And you're not somebody, obviously, with your playing record, you don't like too much

00:24of a break, did you get a chance to have a rest in the summer with all the international

00:27stuff you were doing?

00:28Yeah, like you say, I went away with international, but then I did get a break, I got a few weeks

00:31off and put my feet up and got to a beach somewhere, but no, I enjoyed it, but it's good to be

00:36back and attack another 46 games, hopefully.

00:41So you look around yourself in the dressing room and a lot of familiar faces, not a big

00:44turnover there, but obviously with a new head coach that's going to be, well, who wants

00:49to play a different style of football, how easy has that transition been over the last

00:54few weeks?

00:55Well, I think, like you say, there's not been a massive transform of the squad, of the

00:58playing squad anyway, so there was a good relationship there, and then obviously, like

01:03you say, the manager coming in and playing a slightly different style of play, it's going

01:06to take a bit of time, but I think you've seen, especially in the last couple of games

01:09against Plymouth and the Spanish team there at the weekend, it can do well for us.

01:14And following their opening day defeat against Harrogate Town, Bristol Rovers must learn

01:19quickly, that's according to their head coach, Daryl Clark, who spoke ahead of their next

01:24game against Fleetwood Town.

01:27Learn's the key word, that's what you're doing with a group, obviously, a lot of changes,

01:34a lot of staff changes, so you learn, you learn with each game, you learn as them games

01:37come thick and fast, what we've got now, I think it's about seven games potentially in

01:4021 days, so you just learn more about the group, each competitive match you play, so

01:46everything's a bit of a learning curve with that, for the first 30 minutes, like I said,

01:52watching the game back Saturday night, as soon as I got back home, watched it back, it was

01:57a typical first game of the season, but I still think it was a game we should have won, but

02:01we didn't, so disappointing, but we move on to Saturday.

02:07Yeah, what will you expect against Fleetwood on Saturday?

02:10It's early days, yeah, and obviously they've got a good win at Barnet.
