Bristol City held to frustrating draw by Derby County

00:00Bristol City picked up another draw in the Championship, this time away at Derby County.

00:06The Robins had led, but a late Carlton Morris equaliser meant that the points were shared.

00:13It's at the moment not easy to describe my feelings, so my boys perform on a very good level today.

00:20We controlled here away against a very, very difficult team in a very good direction.

00:26So in the end, we had only one moment where we were a little bit out of our concept and then they use it.

00:34But overall, I'm happy with many things, how we perform, how was the togetherness, the teamwork.

00:40I can see many, many good moments from the boys. I feel a little bit sorry for them today.

00:45Did you feel like they grew into that game after the opening 10 or so minutes where Derby had a lot of the ball?

00:50Yeah, of course. But this was the plan today that we give them in the end not much space.

00:56And it was great in the first two, it was great in the second balls.

01:00And of course, we have in the first half, I would say, many, many good position moments against them also.

01:06And especially our goal was an overstatement in this direction, how we drag players outside, how we create the space.

01:15And Bristol Rovers finally picked up their first three points of the season,

01:19winning 1-0 at the Memorial Stadium against Cambridge United.

01:23Yeah, it's a win for our fans today. It's been a long period of time now where we haven't won a game.

01:31The performance, I thought first half was good, second half were hanging in there, too much for my liking.

01:36But I get it and understand why. I think the fitness levels are not where I want them to be for different reasons.

01:43But we'll get that. But credit to the lads, how much they dug in and ground out another clean shoot.

01:48Yeah, that defensive resilience right at the end there, is that closer to the mentality that you expect?

01:53The mentality was very good today.

01:56As much as ball they had and they're putting more forward-thinking players on,

01:59the keeper's not had a save to make, which is promising.

02:02We've defended our box really well.

02:04The lads have put their bodies on the line.

02:05But we want to be seeing games that more comfortably at times at home.

02:09But a needs must today and a pleasing win for our supporters who've been through a lot of pain.
