00:01:59You never know where Bam Bam's gonna show up, but you can see the intensity on Kevin Nash's face.
00:02:04He's got a shot at the heavyweight championship of the world, a shot at the reputation of Goldberg,
00:02:10and he is determined not to let anybody get their hands on it but Kevin Nash.

00:02:43And there's so much being talked about as far as Starcade is concerned.
00:02:47Goldberg in the winning streak on the line against Big Sexy.
00:02:51The leader of NWO Wolfpack talking about Ric Flair seeking redemption,
00:02:56trying to get a little bit of payback from Eric Bischoff.
00:02:59And as all that talk goes on, we bring you Monday Nitro here in Tampa, Florida.
00:03:04I wanna talk a little bit further, Mike, today, if I can,
00:03:07about the upcoming world title bout at Starcade.
00:03:10Goldberg has been a remarkable champion, a wonderful champion for this sport.
00:03:15But he faces his toughest test to date coming up at Starcade for the World Heavyweight Championship and Kevin Nash.
00:03:22Without question, Tony, this is the matchup that everyone in professional wrestling has been waiting for.
00:03:27Kevin Nash went through 59 other competitors at World War III.
00:03:32He finally gets his opportunity at Goldberg upcoming at Starcade.
00:03:36Also, we talked about Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff.
00:03:39We'll talk a little bit more about that.
00:03:40But we're gonna show the fans a little recap of what's been going on between the Giant and one Diamond Dallas Page.
00:03:46Those two men will go at it as well coming up at Starcade, Larry.
00:03:49Well, you know, the Giant has made it known to Diamond Dallas Page that this is the man DDP's gonna have to go through.
00:03:55And Diamond Dallas Page isn't the people's champion for no reason.

00:06:26The 27th of December is the day that will go down as one of the more noted ones in the calendar.
00:06:33Because every year around Christmas time, we bring you Stargate.
00:06:37We bring you the granddaddy of them all.
00:06:39And of course, Ric Flair's involved with yet another Stargate.
00:06:42He was in the very first one.
00:06:44He has obviously been the focus of many Stargate events throughout the years.
00:06:49But this one for Ric Flair is not a battle for a title or not a battle for tradition.
00:06:55It is a battle for personal reasons.
00:06:58And one can see why.
00:06:59And Mike, they've been well documented what one Eric Bischoff has been attempting to do
00:07:04to Ric Flair's career, to Ric Flair's livelihood,
00:07:07as professional wrestling is concerned.
00:07:09And Tony, isn't it amazing that through the years,
00:07:12the Nature Boy Ric Flair has been involved in so many high-profile matches at Stargate.
00:07:17So many World Heavyweight title shots.
00:07:19You said there's no belt at stake, but I think because of the personal issues.
00:07:23And this goes back many months, if you'll think back to when
00:07:26the Nature Boy Ric Flair's son went to an amateur wrestling tournament.
00:07:30And Ric Flair decided that he was going to attend that.
00:07:32That really sort of sparked this whole problem with Eric Bischoff in the first place.
00:07:37I think this match at Stargate means more to Flair than any of the previous championship bouts.
00:07:43Well, I would agree with that.
00:07:45Raven is coming into the ring.
00:07:46And by the way, we do understand Eric Bischoff is here tonight.
00:07:51And we'll be hearing from him.
00:07:52And you wonder about Bischoff.

00:13:05But the fact is that Raven had an Ivy League education.
00:13:10He has a multi-million dollar bankroll.

00:13:16He forgot about that pre-med degree and the fact that he grew up a rich, spoiled kid in Palm Beach, Florida.

00:13:30And there, I guess, Larry, it's understandable.

00:13:59We've got some great matches to bring you here from Tampa, Florida, and from the Ice Palace.
00:14:03And Eddie Guerrero, you know, say what you want to about Eddie Guerrero, but Eddie has
00:14:09had one common cause, and that is to advance the Latinos as a group.
00:14:16I don't know.
00:14:16I guess I could use the word union as the group is stronger than the individuals to the point to
00:14:21where he wants to really send a message to one Rey Mysterio Jr. as much as anything else, guys.
00:14:27It's almost like a conquest, like Eddie Guerrero with the success he's having so far with the LWO.
00:14:33Isn't enough for his ego.
00:14:35It's more like a sense of power over an individual he can't get to go along with his ideas.
00:14:42And that's Rey Mysterio Jr.
00:14:44What lengths will Eddie go to to get power over the will of Rey Jr.?
00:14:49Well, what lengths will Eddie Guerrero go to to add members to the Latino World Order?
00:14:55This past Saturday night on WCW Saturday Night on the Superstation TBS, he tried to recruit
00:15:01Super Kelo to be the newest member of the Latino World Order.
00:15:04And when Kelo turned him down, he really got physically involved turning all the LWO members
00:15:10loose on his countrymen.
00:15:13Eddie with a back elbow on the Viano and went for a drop kick and the Viano Vibe stepped out
00:15:17of the way and a knife that's chomping the right hand up against the ropes.
00:15:22Eddie holds his ground against the bigger Viano, sending him into the ropes.
00:15:26Tried an arm whip, but Viano held on.
00:15:28And look at the agility here of this Viano big guy, but lightning quick in the ring so far.
00:15:34I tell you, he's got to be.
00:15:35He knows the reputation of Eddie and he's got to use the movement against the speed of Eddie.
00:15:40He got him right there.
00:15:42Deep arm drag, tilt-a-whirl back breaker.
00:15:45What's next?
00:15:45How about a drop kick?
00:15:46And Eddie out to the floor.
00:15:49Out to the floor with his main man there.
00:15:52We don't know the man's name.
00:15:54He almost serves as a bodyguard, Freddy Guerrero.
00:15:56He didn't guard the body well enough that time.
00:15:58Eddie got it from the front and then whiplash when he hit that steel rail.
00:16:02After receiving a suicide dive from Viano.
00:16:06He took the brunt of it that time.
00:16:07You're right up against the safety rail.
00:16:09He went and the referee trying to get both men to go back to the ring.
00:16:13We mentioned that Bischoff was here.
00:16:15Bischoff to go in the ring against Ric Flair.
00:16:17This is gonna be a bitter battle.
00:16:19Mike, you touched on what has gone on in the background, but with both men.
00:16:25And you know, with Bischoff and the story that surrounds Flair trying to see his son
00:16:31in a youth wrestling match back in the month of April, I guess, is only really the tip of the iceberg
00:16:38as that story goes between both men.
00:16:40That really started it, Tony.
00:16:41There's been so much more to add, and it's been documented in newspapers across the country
00:16:46about lawsuits and things like that.
00:16:48This time they're gonna get it settled once and for all, man against man in the ring at Starrcade.
00:16:53That's the way to settle the dispute.
00:16:55It's the only way to settle anything.
00:16:57And this is the right way to do it in the ring, and certainly Flair getting Bischoff in the ring,
00:17:02being able to finally get back in the ring is a story in itself because Bischoff has tried
00:17:07every means to prevent Ric Flair from making his living in the wrestling ring.
00:17:12Again, we're back to the same thing.
00:17:14Struggle for power and control.
00:17:17Bischoff trying to control Ric Flair, and that's just not gonna happen.
00:17:22It all comes down to really abuse of power, and in the words of the Nature Boy,
00:17:26the dictatorship is about to come to an end.
00:17:28To the side of the head now goes Eddie Guerrero,
00:17:33pounding away on Biano 5 here.
00:17:35Eddie showing that Latin temper of his, and now you'll see that
00:17:38Mickey J the referee backing Guerrero away.
00:17:41I don't think there's any denying the fact that Eddie Guerrero, pound for pound,
00:17:45is one of the most complete accomplished wrestlers in our sport.
00:17:49He's up on top, and he tumbles in with that slam of his, with that dive of his, and now
00:17:56he almost draws from the hatred that fans have for him as well.
00:17:59That's what you said, I mean, he's got ability, and I think Eddie Guerrero is so good,
00:18:04that's the reason he's got the following of the LWO that he has.
00:18:08He is very, very competent, but he still does not have power over Rey Mysterio Jr.
00:18:15Now, speaking of following, Larry, like you touched on, you're not gonna find any two wrestlers
00:18:19with bigger followings in the sport like Goldberg and Kevin Nash.
00:18:24And these two superstars among stars, two of the biggest names in pro wrestling,
00:18:30will collide for the biggest prize of them all at Starrcade on December 27th.
00:18:36Can Nash do what no one else has done?
00:18:38That's the burning question. That is to defeat Goldberg and bring the world title to the Wolfpack.
00:18:43Or will Goldberg continue to rise to the occasion?
00:18:46You know, each and every time we think that Goldberg's got his work cut out for him,
00:18:50he's got a man that can take him to the limit, he comes up with something new.
00:18:53And I tell you, coming up on the 27th, that's only 13 days out,
00:18:58is gonna be one of the most watched, talked about world title matches
00:19:01we've ever had in the grand history of the sport.
00:19:03Well, Goldberg has answered every challenge with a victory to date.
00:19:07But when you think about the momentum and how it's totally on the side of the NWO Wolfpack,
00:19:12what a shot in the arm that momentum is for Kevin Nash going into Starrcade.
00:19:16Ridge that time thought he had a pinning predicament there for Viano 5, but no.
00:19:21Mickey J, the referee, right on top of it. And here, Larry, we're seeing
00:19:25Eddie go to the ground to try to put a submission hold here on Viano 5.
00:19:30Well, Eddie's very good on the mat, and it wasn't a pinning combination,
00:19:33but it was a very, very painful lock on that knee.
00:19:37Definitely slowed down Viano, number 5, and without speed,
00:19:41you're gonna be helpless against Eddie Guerrero.
00:19:44And he hit hard, and a great power slam, out of the corner, Viano!

00:19:48Almost got what would go down as a major upset here.
00:19:51He blocked Eddie's right hand, and Viano showing a little bit of temper of his own.
