00:00:23The way to start off in the NWO isn't gonna greet anybody.
00:00:27I'd like to make you say that.
00:00:28Right, that's part of my repertoire now, Larry, to talk about WCW slash NWO.
00:00:34And ladies and gentlemen, we're on the air tonight as always live in three solid hours
00:00:39of the best in pro wrestling.
00:00:41There's a lot to talk about, there's a lot going on.
00:00:44And as you know, heated rivalries last night,
00:00:47tempered Larry last night, and World War III.
00:00:50But nothing in comparison to what's going down tonight here on WCW Monday Nitro.
00:00:58Fans of the Van Andel Arena are jammed into this beautiful facility downtown in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
00:01:03It's our second trip here, and it's good to have you with us wherever you are.
00:01:09Take off, Larry. Mike and I got a lot to talk about.
00:01:14There was a winner in World War III last night. It was a perfect game plan for Kevin Nash.
00:01:19It now will be Kevin Nash meeting Goldberg at Stargate on December 27th for the world title.
00:01:25Sensational win for Big Sexy.
00:01:27Well, Tony, it was absolutely one of the most dominant efforts that I've ever witnessed in a Battle Royal.
00:01:32Sixty men entered the three rings.
00:01:35Kevin Nash started off in ring number three and almost single-handedly cleared that entire ring
00:01:41on his way to victory at World War III last night at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
00:01:45And we know who's up next.
00:01:47It's Kevin Nash and Goldberg for the world's heavyweight title at Stargate.
00:01:50In addition, a cloud of mystery over the event last night when Hollywood Hogan was not there.
00:01:56Fans, we understand this will be cleared up this coming Thursday on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
00:02:02when Hollywood Hogan will be there with an announcement.
00:02:05And we do not know the context of that announcement,
00:02:08but we do know it will happen Thanksgiving night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
00:02:12Now let's take you back last night at World War III in the Battle Royal.
00:02:17There you see it.
00:02:19There you see the trademark, the three ring center, 60 of the greatest athletes now.
00:02:23In ring three was Big Sexy Kevin Nash.
00:02:26And methodically, he took them all out.
00:02:28He was the only man left in ring three, and he was waiting for everybody else to get finished in the other two rings.
00:02:33Then out of nowhere comes Bam Bam Bigelow, just like he did last Monday night.
00:02:37He tried to get into the ring, the final ring with only nine men in there.
00:02:41But WCW athletes and NW athletes banded together to keep Bam Bam Bigelow at ringside.
00:02:48And then here comes security.
00:02:50Bam Bam Bigelow not a part of WCW.
00:02:53Security and referees all coming out, trying to pull this piece of the East away.
00:02:57And then here he came himself, the world champion, Goldberg, out of nowhere.
00:03:01And Goldberg and Bam Bam got into a major fight on the floor while another fight was going on in the ring,
00:03:08trying to decide who would win World War III.
00:03:11It was a massive pull apart, it got down to the last eight, and the last man left standing was Big Sexy Kevin Nash.
00:03:19And congratulations to Kevin Nash for the big win, like we said, living legend Larry Zabisco.
00:03:26It's gonna be an incredible Starrcade when Goldberg faces one of the biggest, one of the toughest, one of the most successful men ever in our sport in Kevin Nash.
00:03:37Well, I tell you, good news, at least it wasn't one of the members of the New World Order, black and white.
00:03:43Kevin Nash has the chance of a lifetime, and Big Sexy is one of those few men on the planet that has a chance against the unbeatable ones.
00:03:53And what's the story with the beast from the East, Bam Bam Bigelow?
00:03:57Last Monday here on Nitro, he totally turned this program upside down.
00:04:01It was another hectic confrontation last evening at World War III, and you can just tell that Goldberg has Bam Bam Bigelow in his sights.
00:04:10Goldberg does not like to be challenged by anyone without answering, and he came to the ring and made his presence felt last evening.
00:04:18Speaking of confrontation, I understand, fans, and this is a major announcement that we have for you about this program a little bit later on.
00:04:27We understand that Eric Bischoff and the Nature Boy Ric Flair are both in attendance, and they will have a face-to-face meeting or confrontation, if you will, tonight, live on this program, later on here on Monday Nitro.
00:04:42Well, let me give the Nature Boy a word of warning, I'm sure he already knows, but you can tell when Bischoff lies, his lips move.
00:04:54Lex Luger of the Wolfpack against Mike Enos in this opening bout here on Monday Nitro.
00:05:00And another shout-out, that's the norm everywhere we go, here in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in Western Michigan, where they have Wolfpack fans, WCW fans, and yes, many NWO Hollywood fans in attendance here tonight.
00:05:15Not everybody's perfect.
00:05:16I realize that.
00:05:17But they talk about someone who is about genetically perfect, Lex Luger, member of the Wolfpack.
00:05:23One of the reasons the Wolfpack is so popular, I think, even staying, and, of course, you can't take it away from the ability of Big Sexy and Conan, either.
00:05:30I mean, they've got a tough squad there, but this guy, I tell you, no body fat, lean muscle, endurance, big explosive.
00:05:37Luger's got it all.
00:05:38Well, Mike Enos has just returned from a tour of the Orient with New Japan Pro Wrestling, but he steps up to the plate this evening on Nitro, and he's going to have to face this man, the Total Package.
00:05:50Here in the course of the evening, as we said, Flair and Bischoff face-to-face, that is live here tonight, but also a rundown of where you can get tickets to WCW Spectaculars during the upcoming holiday season, how you can see World War III, the encore presentation, if you missed it last night or if you want to see it again.
00:06:09That's all coming up in this program here tonight, and Lex Luger has the crowd eating out of his hand, Mike.
00:06:16Well, there was so much going on last night at World War III, I can't blame you if you want to take another look at it.
00:06:21And you're right, they're pumped up in Grand Rapids for the Total Package Lex Luger.
00:06:28Mike Enos will back down from no one.
00:06:33He's a very powerful individual, very strong, and we rightfully discussed what went down last night as it relates to World War III and Kevin Nash, the victor, but that was really only the tip of the iceberg that went down last night.
00:06:47And to the ropes.
00:06:53And Enos backs away.
00:06:54Last night, startling turn of events, a new member of the LWO, and that new member of the LWO, Juventud Guerrera, promptly lost the cruiserweight strap thanks to Rey Mysterio Jr.
00:07:06Billy Kidman is now the cruiserweight champ, Mike.
00:07:08We had a lot of questions answered about a very confusing situation involving the Latino world order.
00:07:13They have a new member in Juventud Guerrera, the Youth Warrior.
00:07:17As you mentioned, Tony, he lost the championship to Kidman last evening at World War III.
00:07:21But in the process, we also find out that Rey Mysterio Jr. has turned his back on the LWO and turned in his Latino World Order colors.
00:07:32Lex Luger, scoop slam, down goes Mike Enos once again.
00:07:36Yeah, Luger's turning Enos inside out here and using all that power.
00:07:41What a way to begin our program.
00:07:46And I tell you, also, last night, the NWO Hollywood at the behest of Eric Bischoff, at the orders of Eric Bischoff, attacked Scott Hall.
00:08:01Scott Hall, obviously, from the actions last night, no longer a member of NWO Hollywood.
00:08:06But as we'll talk about in detail in this program, it's a long way from mending things with his former tag team partner, Kevin Nash.
00:08:17Well, it looks at this point as if Scott Hall has no association with any group.
00:08:22I tell you, every time the NWO says, for life, I bow my head for a moment of silent laughter.
00:08:29Well, you're right, Larry. This for life is, obviously, when you have a mess of egos on the side of NWO Hollywood, for life is really meaning until I get mad at you.
00:08:40Running over, Lex Luger, Mike Enos has come to fight, like we said, cover, hooking a far leg, and he only got a two.
00:08:46Well, I tell you, never underestimate anybody, and Enos is no exception to that.
00:08:51He's been around, big, tough guy, and Luger walked into another one.
00:08:54Enos trying to, oh, yes, he got him. He got him in a pile driver. Mike Enos could win this. Two, and...
00:09:06Well, that was a close one. That was almost an upset win for Mike Enos.
00:09:10And what would have that done to this career, huh?
00:09:13Wow. Spiked him with the pile driver. Mike Enos, at that point, was just on the verge of stardom by knocking off Lex Luger.
00:09:20But Luger was able to kick out at two and now asks the crowd for their support as he makes the comeback.
00:09:27I tell you, if Enos beat Luger, he's probably the kind of guy that might like him in the red and black shirt.

00:09:34No, couldn't hold him. Luger just exceptionally strong man. He does not get tired. He's got endurance like Rey Mysterio does.
00:09:43Enos with the rear chin lock. And a good-looking Mike Enos making a great showing here.
00:09:51Well, fans also, last night, Jericho retained the TV belt thanks to some underhanded annex from his security.
00:10:02Ralfus. That was a bizarre turn of events. Some diamonds down the stage. Let me say it again.
00:10:09He is still the U.S. champ in an electrifying U.S. title bout. Controversio, though, with Bret Hart last night.
00:10:17Yeah, talk about bizarre turn of events. He'd have to use that phrase to describe the Bret Hart DDP match as well.
00:10:23Enos still in this now. He's got Luger in a tough spot here.
00:10:29I thought for a moment a suplex, but he thought better of it.
00:10:32And he looked out with the easler. He hoisted this 280-pound man up to the top turnbuckle.
00:10:36But Enos is a big, strong guy. I don't know.
00:10:39He's taking a long time, and Luger's almost too big to put up there. I don't know if...
00:10:44We'll see. He's gonna try to suplex him.
00:10:46He should have suplexed him when he had the chance.
00:10:49I believe so, and Luger, look at Luger go airborne.

00:11:41This is quite a showing by Mike Enos to open up Nitro against the total package, Lex Luger.

00:11:50Yeah, you can't make a mistake against the total package.

00:11:55And the fans left, and now so does Mike Enos.

00:24:23And he and Scott Hall chased away members of NWO Hollywood.

01:01:36he hooked on to billy kidman juventude guerrera missed a top rope move and that allowed kidman to connect
01:01:41with the shooting star press the rest is history the championship belt is around the waist of kidman
01:01:49well hold on right there it's gonna be it's gonna be a good one and kidman you gotta get the guy
01:01:54credit for giving ray the shot uh and you gotta give ray credit for seeing through eddie guerrero's

01:02:15hammering kidman in the corner i don't think there's any question even though they are friends

01:02:57you know it's amazing to me i mean that the super heavy weights the big nights they don't get near
01:03:02the injuries that the cruiser weights do these guys are always got something braced or taped or
01:03:08stapled or scoped or whatever goes along and hand in hand with those high risk moves larry you can see
01:03:14why ray great balance on top and a hip sister takeover of kidman wow headstand off the guardrail into a
01:03:21head scissors takeover you always see something just a little different with ray mysterio jr and then
01:03:27again it's tough where the opponent comes oh you don't know what to expect but that time the face the
01:03:34head it flushed on the solid apron of the ring right beyond that padding there guys yeah that hit him
01:03:41hard too kidman that was a beautiful little maneuver he knew his positioning knew where he was
01:03:45and that's why he was able to direct the right smack on the face of ray mysterio
01:03:52outside in with a guillotine leg drop and now here goes the champ covers one two
01:03:57but couldn't keep him down and kidman now tries to ground ray mysterio jr everything a virtual
01:04:03toss-up when you talk about uh the endurance of both men uh both men can go a long long time and
01:04:10just when you think you got both men down either man down they surprise you come back with a second or
01:04:15even a third win that's how in shape they are so kind of a stalemate on on that regard but look at
01:04:21this look at the point of the attack there it was on the knee of kidman maybe ray knows something we
01:04:27don't know well they know each other's weaknesses and their strong points is mobility no couldn't hold
01:04:33them strong points or mobility and ray mysterio you knocked the knee out of kidman you've stopped his
01:04:39mobility see what he follows up with now he gets sent to the corner does ray ray elevates
01:04:44him all the way watch out kidman hammered him before he tried to climb but now he's up on top
01:04:50and he got him down one two and almost pinned him in that cross body set up perfectly by that stiff
01:04:57right hand that time mike by kidman before he went up the intensity in this match i think pretty much
01:05:03matches what's at stake with the world's cruiserweight championship belt on the line
01:05:07both men know that it's oh quite a career maker to have that championship belt and mysterio nice move
01:05:15there able to avoid what looked to be a cross body block attempt by kidman and he goes all the way out
01:05:20to the floor and he's still not safe from mysterio whoa
01:05:26not safe for mysterio who executes one of those pendant high-risk maneuvers found the inside outside
01:05:33and kidman made a critical mistake and ended up on the floor and that was to run at ray mysterio jr
01:05:39with reckless abandon when he has the his backup against the ropes we know a lot of guys when they're
01:05:45outside the ring they think they're safe but ray mysterio jr kind of like the doomsday comet he just
01:05:50comes out of nowhere what a counter by kidman he was prepared he was waiting when mysterio went for
01:05:59the springboard he answered with a drop kick
01:06:05charles robinson the referee administering the mandatory 10 count when both men are down on the mat
01:06:12kidman's going to try to make this into a penny predicament one two no sir not yet
01:06:16maybe about three seconds ago that could have been a pin but look at this almost an abdominal stretch
01:06:27from a seated position as kidman has an arm or both arms one tucked away with a leg one
01:06:34underneath his own arm but the tough part about wrestling ray is that you have to catch him first
01:06:39that's very very hard once you catch him never never let him go and that's exactly the strategy
01:06:44being employed here by kidman he's caught him he's not letting the man go not letting the man run
01:06:49putting on some textbook wrestling holds here mike very reminiscent of last night's matchup with
01:06:54juventud guerrera and the number of near falls the pinfall attempts by both men near a dozen maybe even
01:07:00more last night and they've picked up the pace again this evening here on nitro
01:07:06side of the corner good anticipation one two and no not yet i tell you if they come up with the best
01:07:12squirming out of a predicament award ray should get it he's incredible isn't he just when you think
01:07:17you have him every time it seems like it seems like the only time we've seen ray go down is when
01:07:22either he makes a critical mistake on his own or someone knocks it completely out up
01:07:27and to the apron ray hammers him the staggering using a little bit of strategy kidman employed
01:07:33early on now look at that moonsault he caught him in midair but ray one step ahead shoved him
01:07:40into the turnbuckle what a counter move that was and now how do you do that i don't know
01:07:48that's unbelievable i don't know i'm a legend that's unbelievable one two he couldn't pin him with it
01:07:53but i tell you on the new moves meter that was a 10 plus and we're giving a new move award i gotta see

01:08:08kidman snuck one in yeah he laid him out with it but couldn't hold him down yet
01:08:14wow it almost seems as if sometimes ray that he doesn't know what he's gonna do until he gets in midair

01:08:29to grab the side of the head and put kidman face first down he'll try to win it but cannot yeah long
01:08:35hang time but you want a short ground time and kidman he just squirmed out of there to save himself
01:08:43ray jr is going to go up top i think much anything else to give himself a breather maybe too much of a
01:08:49real breather kidman boy he really knew ring positioning he realized that he was dazed when
01:08:56he got up immediately knew where his opponent was these guys aren't going to give you any breathers
01:09:00either i mean they're they're small but they've got tremendous endurance they will not slow down
01:09:05and a breather something you don't get in the cruiserweights power bombed him off the top and he could not
01:09:12hold him down yet now finally you see the frustration evident as mysterio jr slaps the mat
01:09:21both men so close to the victory here numerous two counts by both wrestlers
01:09:27kidman on his feet kidman holds on trying to and gets him to bulldog
01:09:31walking up the turnbuckles cruiserweight champ kidman's not done yet drags him over to position
01:09:37maybe well he's shooting star press it's the move that won in the world's cruiserweight title last
01:09:42night but mysterio is ready and cuts him off at the pass what do you call plain possum waited till
01:09:48the man climbed to the turnbuckle a couple of gut shots to stun the man and now can he send him off
01:09:54yes he can with a massive superplex from the top turnbuckle
01:10:00ray's not getting up very quick though i mean these these moves i think he hurts himself just as much he
01:10:05doesn't have much much meat around those bones he's got endurance but not too much to absorb the shock
01:10:15he's up and he's down it's kidman who caught him and power bombed him away
