00:00:18Before we talk any further, here are the beautiful Nitro Girls.
00:00:30Coming to you live from the MCI Center in the nation's capital, ladies and gentlemen,
00:00:59and Sunday Nitro is on the air, and for the next three hours, saddle up, because we're
00:01:08ready for great world championship wrestling, hotter than ever before, ladies and gentlemen,
00:01:15because of a stellar night last night, just up the road in Baltimore at the Great American
00:01:22Bash.
00:01:23What a night it was, and a lot of things coming out of the Great American Bash that we need
00:01:28to talk about, and as you know, all the top superstars of WCW, they are here tonight, live
00:01:37from the MCI Center.
00:01:39It's Tony Schiavone, Bobby the Brain Heenan, the team here for our number one of three
00:01:44hours on WCW Monday Nitro.
00:01:47New World Tag Team Champions, Diamond Dallas Page and Canyon defeat Senator and Benoit to
00:01:52win the World Tag Team title.
00:01:54Now, Rick Flair is still the president of WCW.
00:01:58We'll talk about the involvement of Bagwell.
00:02:01Master P and his soldiers last night came in, and they were a big part of what went down.
00:02:07Later on tonight, we'll take you to a press conference.
00:02:10One of the great entertainers of the entire world, Master P, who is now a part of WCW and
00:02:16his No Limit Soldiers.
00:02:17Last night, the Macho Man and Kevin Nash, the World Heavyweight title.
00:02:22Nash is still the champion, but out of nowhere, in walks Sid Vicious.
00:02:28Boy, and you can say that again.
00:02:29Sid Vicious.
00:02:30Big Sid Vicious.
00:02:31Savage had a good match.
00:02:32Savage had a great match.
00:02:34I think if it had gone 15 more minutes, maybe 10 minutes, Savage would have had him.
00:02:38They started to go back and forth.
00:02:40Nash, the greatest big man in wrestling history, probably, really took it to Savage.
00:02:45They never backed up from each other.
00:02:46But when I saw big Sid Vicious, I was shocked, Tony.
00:02:49All right, let's take you to the pictures from the Great American Bash from one night
00:02:53ago, courtesy of WCW Magazine.
00:02:56The Macho Man and his entourage came to the ring.
00:02:58Big Sexy Kevin Nash came to the ring, of course.
00:03:01We talked so much about the rib cage and the injuries, but that did not stop Kevin Nash.
00:03:08But obviously, he was favoring the ribs all night.
00:03:11That didn't stop the Macho Man, Randy Savage.
00:03:13He went to the ribs many, many times.
00:03:16That was his target.
00:03:17That was the target of Medusa on the outside at rib cage.
00:03:20That was the target of Miss Madness with a missile dropkick.
00:03:23But later in the match, Kevin Nash, as he endured the big elbow drop for the Macho Man,
00:03:28Randy Savage, came back, put Savage in a powerbomb.
00:03:31Just about the time to win the match.
00:03:33Out of nowhere, here comes Sid Vicious.
00:03:36And Sid Vicious, now obviously a part of Team Macho, walks out with the entourage.
00:03:41We understand they've arrived here to the arena tonight.
00:03:46Party time.
00:03:48Rock Night, George.
00:03:49You think we're vicious before?
00:03:51We're going to be more vicious than ever.
00:03:54Yeah.
00:03:55Like it's Sid, let's do the deal.

00:04:30Before we go to the next match, ladies and gentlemen, and you look at this great crowd
00:04:38on hand here in downtown D.C.
00:04:40Let's take you last night back to the Great American Bash.
00:04:45As we said earlier, the appearance of the one and only Master P and the No Limit Soldiers
00:04:50there at ringside watching Curt Hennigan, Bobby Duncombe Jr. against Conan and Rey Mysterio Jr.
00:04:56early in the match.
00:04:57I tell you, Conan and Rey Mysterio gave it their all.
00:05:00But Bobby Duncombe Jr., Curt Hennigan, double-teaming Rey many times.
00:05:04Earlier in the match, they had the advantage.
00:05:07They kept the pressure on.
00:05:08Double-teaming Rey Mysterio Jr.
00:05:10desperately needed to tag as Master P, and the Soldiers were watching on.
00:05:14And then Conan gets the momentum going back the other way.
00:05:17Then late in the match, Barry Windham comes out, and that brings out one of the bodyguards,
00:05:23Master P, Swole.
00:05:24He got involved.
00:05:25The whole Soldiers come out.
00:05:27And they get ushered away by the security, enabling Duncombe, Hennigan, and Windham
00:05:33to put a three-on-two on Conan and Rey Jr.
00:05:36Well, that's exactly what happened, Tony.
00:05:38What action and what a night it was.
00:05:40I think it was one of the best pay-per-views we've had.
00:05:42And I would agree with that.
00:05:44Ladies and gentlemen, the encore presentation of the Great American Bash is all this week,
00:05:48beginning tomorrow on A Viewer's Choice.

00:06:09He jumped across the safety rail when Windham got in, and he was on the attack.

00:06:17He had arms looked like tree trunks.
00:06:19Oh, they were massive.
00:06:20So a lot went down last night and a lot of talk, a lot of attention about WCW.
00:06:26And as we said, we are going to show you the press conference that was held here in D.C. today.
00:06:33The national press conference with Mr. P. and the No Limit Soldiers and World Championship Wrestling.
00:06:39We are now visited by members of NWO, Black and White, Vincent, Brian Adams.
00:06:51And they're going to face the duo, or at least two of the men that we were talking about.

00:09:21And also, you fans who joined us for the Great American Bash last night are maybe concerned about Sting and the brutal attack by the Dogs.

00:09:38You may be concerned about it.
00:09:39Sting did suffer some lacerations.
00:09:41He is going to be okay.

00:09:46That will not prevent Sting from getting the ring, I can tell you that.

00:10:31And Brian Adams from behind pulls the legs of Hennig.
00:10:34And that says it all, that reaction of Hennig right there.
00:10:38That opens up his eyes.
00:10:39You got a good team here and a good nucleus here with Wyndham, with Bobby Duncombe, with Kurt Hennig.
00:10:48You got two guys from Texas, two real tough guys from Texas.
00:10:50And the wrestler that made Minnesota famous, Kurt Hennig.
00:10:53Well, the fact that if you can not only be a tag team, be a duo, but if you can run in threes, then you're going to be more effective.
00:11:03Just look at Diamond Dallas Page, Canyon, and Bam Bam Bigelow.
00:11:07Page and Canyon are the tag team champions right now.
00:11:09But obviously Bam Bam's involved and they can switch in and out as much as they want.
00:11:14We may be seeing a lot more than just two men coming to the ring.
00:11:17Maybe three.
00:11:17I like that.
00:11:18I like that idea.
00:11:19Give him the most action you can possibly give him that I want to see.

00:11:51And many people who are fans of Buff Bagwell may be shocked to know that Rowdy Roddy Piper
00:11:57turned on Bagwell, so to speak.
00:11:59Pounded, jumped on Bagwell last night.

00:12:02But Bagwell's involvement last night obviously helped Flair win.
00:12:06And you can understand the anger that Piper had.
00:12:08Well, you know, Piper's a very angry man all the time anyway.
00:12:11And he's the last guy you really want to get across from you and have mad at you.
00:12:16Piper will do anything.
00:12:16He's a very sick individual.
00:12:19That's why he survived so long in this sport.
00:12:22A lariat from Barry Windham and a tag.
00:12:24And here comes Hennig working together, smooth as a tag team.

00:12:29And a knife, it's tough.

00:12:33And Hennig's getting the momentum going his way.

00:12:37Now, when Hennig fires up, you can't put it out.

00:13:24They can work as a tag.

00:13:26Very capable.
00:13:27And Bryan Adams, have you noticed how agile this guy is?
00:13:33He can jump over that top rope.
00:13:35He can, standing from the floor, jump up to the apron.
00:13:38Very agile man.
00:13:39One of the quickest big men in the sport of pro wrestling.
00:13:42And here comes Barry Windham once again.
00:13:43And a pickup.
00:13:44And a belly to back.

00:13:49Things are just starting to cook here on WCW Monday Nitro.
00:13:53We saw the arrival of the Macho Man and the girls.
00:13:55And Sid Vicious in the Hummer.
00:13:58And, uh, kind of interesting that we didn't see who was driving that Hummer once again.
00:14:04We saw everybody else.
00:14:05We saw Sid Vicious.
00:14:05And we never did find out who was driving the Hummer when they charged the car that Kevin Nash was in.
00:14:11No.
00:14:12I never heard either.
00:14:12I never heard that officially.
00:14:13But, uh, we assumed a lot with Sid Vicious.
00:14:16But then again, you never know.

00:14:53And, uh, straddling, he's got your basic armbar, but the extra added leverage from the middle rope that time.
00:14:59Uh, Kurt Hennick sends, uh, Vincent back to the corner.
00:15:02Tag and Barry Windham comes back in.
00:15:04And this is good tag team wrestling because he knows how they keep him in the corner.
00:15:07They don't let him get across that middle of the ring so he can make that tag.
00:15:10It's basically three against two here.
00:15:13Trying to get back up is Vincent.
00:15:15Got to get him pretty good marks for effort here.
00:15:18He blocks the attempt at a vertical suplex.
00:15:20Windham maneuvers him around to throw him on the outside.
00:15:23But look how Vince had a hold of that knee brace that time of Barry Windham.
00:15:27He hooked the knee brace in, Vincent.
00:15:29He was able to put him over with his own suplex break.
00:15:32Well, now he's got to get to the corner.
00:15:33He's going to tag that big hand to Brian Adams.
00:15:36He's almost halfway there.
00:15:38He's not going to make it.
00:15:40Down goes Vincent once again.

00:19:40The fans here are fired up, don't you think, tonight for WCW Monday Nitro?
00:19:45Oh, they always are for Nitro.
00:19:46But something special about Washington, D.C., the nation's capital,
00:19:49they really get with it here.
00:19:50They really do.
00:19:50You know, we were concerned about Kevin Nash and the ribs last night,
00:19:54but Kevin Nash did not lose the World Heavyweight title.
00:19:57But Sid Vicious made his appearance.
00:19:58We know Sid Vicious is here.
00:20:00We know that the Macho Man and the ladies are all here.
00:20:03We still don't know who was driving the Hummer.
00:20:06They crashed last Monday into the limousine.
00:20:08They ended up injuring the ribs of Kevin Nash.
00:20:10Now, he is still the world champ,
00:20:12but you know he's going to be favoring those ribs for a long, long time.
00:20:14Oh, you bet.
00:20:15They don't heal that easy.
00:20:16And the match he had last night with Savage, Savage gave him all he wanted.
00:20:20He's not 100%, as far as I'm concerned.
00:20:22That's how we ended the Great American Bash, how we began the Great American Bash.
00:20:26The big limousine came in, and then Master P and the No Limit Soldiers made their appearance,
00:20:31confronted by Kurt Hennig.
00:20:32Master P signed the CD.
00:20:34Hennig broke it in half in front of him.
00:20:36And that was just the beginning of a big night.
00:20:38Master P and WCW had a major press conference here earlier today in Washington, D.C.
00:20:44Here's what went down.
00:20:46All right.
00:20:46Thank you very much, gentlemen.
00:20:47Why wait?
00:20:48Writer, director, creator, performer, rapper extraordinaire.
00:20:53Master P is going to be leaving the recording studio, at least momentarily,
00:20:57and start doing a little rapping inside the squared circle.
00:21:01Master P, the 11th highest grossing entertainer in the world.
00:21:05In 1998, and the creator, performer of such hits, as I Miss My Homies,
00:21:11is going to be accompanied at the events by his bodyguard, the massive Swole,
00:21:15who you'll be seeing a little bit later, making a very formidable tag team.
00:21:19For us to have a star of this magnitude here is truly a great thrill for all of us
00:21:24at World Championship Wrestling.
00:21:26Please, ladies and gentlemen, Master P.
00:21:35Okay, basically, I want to say that I'm glad to be here with the WCW,
00:21:43and I think we're going to have a lot of fun.
00:21:45It's going to be a real exciting year.
00:21:48You know, me and Swole got into a confrontation with one of the other wrestlers about rap music,
00:21:55and that's how this whole thing kicked off.
00:21:57But to me, this thing is about life.
00:21:58You know, wrestling to me, I grew up on this, and, you know, I've always been a big wrestling fan,
00:22:05and to be able to step into the arena with this type of sport gives me a great honor
00:22:11and pleasure to be here with Mr. Eric and make this thing happen.
00:22:14I mean, no limit is my life, no limit soldiers.
00:22:17We're here to make this thing happen, and just to bring our contribution to the rap,
00:22:22to the wrestling world as entertainers and as also as sports competitors.
00:22:32I just want to say that, you know, with all the music that Master P brings out
00:22:36and with all the other rappers out there, you know, me, myself,
00:22:40and the rest of the people that listen to that music, we appreciate the message
00:22:44that he brings out to the world, you know, appreciate that.
00:22:48Master P, the No Limit Soldiers, their perspective is a very positive one,
00:22:53and Edwin and I have talked about this.
00:22:55There's a lot of very positive things that the No Limit Soldiers and Master P
00:22:58and the music, the philosophy, and their approach to entertainment and life in general
00:23:04is going to bring to WCW.
00:23:06So that's, I think, something that we should all be looking forward to as well.
00:23:09And Conan and I and Ray have talked about that as well.
00:23:12So that's a big part of this.
00:23:14I'm just gladly appreciated to be among the other wrestlers in this room today
00:23:20that's representing the No Limit Soldiers,
00:23:22and we're just here to say, hootie, hoo, you heard me.
00:23:26Oh, my.

00:23:34Macho Madness has come to the arena.
00:23:38Like it only can, along with those three beautiful ladies.
00:23:43Gorgeous George, Medusa, and Miss Madness.
00:23:48Three ladies who are a lot more than just beautiful women.
00:23:52One gorgeous, two beautiful women on the outside.
00:23:55And if they are involved in the matches,
00:23:59we know the track record of Medusa in the ring.
00:24:02We see what Miss Madness can do on the top row.
00:24:05And gorgeous George, she'll sneak from behind,
00:24:08jump on the back, drive him down for the Macho Man to lay him out.
00:24:12Well, he's got them all programmed the way he wants it.
00:24:15That's why he's always on the top of his game.
00:24:18Nobody does an entrance like this man either.
00:24:20He is the Macho Man, Randy Savage.
00:24:23But he's not the world champ.
00:24:25And by Sid Vicious, coming out last night,
00:24:28it told me that, yes, the Macho Man wants to be the world champion,
00:24:33but maybe this is just step one of the plan by bringing Sid Vicious in.
00:24:37And then, once again, we've got to wonder,
00:24:39the Hummer that was driven that crashed to the limousine last Monday,
00:24:43who drove it tonight?
00:24:44Oh, yeah.

01:04:02The bar has been getting raised week in and week out between Nash and Savage.
01:04:07Just when Savage thought that he had raised the bar as high as it could go,
01:04:12Nash came along, outsmarted him, not once with a sewage truck,
01:04:15but twice with that woman that fit in the bag in a bucket of sewage.
01:04:19The real payoff, though, was last night.
01:04:22With Savage, however he did it, however it was orchestrated,
01:04:26bought in really the only man that could be a momentum changer at this point.
01:04:31The only man in this industry that was a free agent, so to speak,
01:04:35that could turn the tide, and that being Sid Vicious.
01:04:37He's a monster.
01:04:38He's every bit as big as Kevin Nash, and we saw the results last night.
01:04:43But as I said a couple weeks ago, do not count Kevin Nash out.
01:04:46And we hope to hear from the world champion in this program.

01:04:52Meanwhile, in the ring, Van Hammer,
01:04:55we've been talking about the attributes of Van Hammer
01:04:57and this attitude change of his for the better,
01:04:59and he's looking really good now as he sends a disco inferno onto the floor.

01:05:35that he's wrestling with confidence.

01:05:41He's got to pick up the pace.
01:05:43He's a little too methodical.
01:05:44I'm not saying he's slow.
01:05:46He's agile, and he has the ability to be very, very quick.
01:05:49But if you watch him, just the way he moves around the ring,
01:05:51he's methodical, and that can sometimes lead to being predictable.
01:05:55He's got to pick up the pace.
01:05:57Well, maybe, you know, maybe he can pick up the pace if he gets more ring time.
01:06:01And there's been a lot of talk about guys being held back by guys like Claire and Pfeiffer.
01:06:05If maybe now guys like Van Hammer can get more time in the ring,
01:06:08maybe he'll develop an event.
01:06:09He's got the time in the ring right now with disco.
01:06:12I mean, disco's, you know, look, we all get a big laugh under disco
01:06:14when he comes to the ring with the disco dance and all the other stuff.
01:06:18But physically, you watch cover.
01:06:19You watch disco.
01:06:21As far as the wrestler goes, he's pretty polished, and he can move.
01:06:25And this is the kind of match that Van Hammer needs right now.
01:06:27But he's got to pick, like I said, he's got to gas it up.

01:07:57And then later on tonight, watch the pace of a Chris Benoit.

01:08:01I mean, if Hammer had a coach, okay,
01:08:04and that coach was able to get Van Hammer
01:08:08to take on the same kind of pace in his match
01:08:11as a Chris Benoit does.
01:08:12Combine that with the size of a Van Hammer,
01:08:14you would have a 1-1 very, very dangerous individual.
