00:00Pirates, of course, huge favorites in any game that Paul Skeens pitches.
00:04They're minus 180 tonight, total of seven and a half.
00:08I would imagine that so many bettors are going to be on Skeens today.
00:12They kind of got to look for the other side in some sort of value here.
00:16But, Tom, as has been the story for most of the season,
00:19it's just simply not a guarantee that they're going to score runs behind.
00:22Right.
00:23There's a way to go about it.
00:25Like, you can back Skeens in terms of his strikeouts.
00:27You could also just say, I'm going to back the game under.
00:30I'm going to back the Pirates team total under.
00:33And, again, as I always say, like, it is very, very possible
00:36that Skeens cruises through the first five innings.
00:38The Pirates' first five money line comes through as a win.
00:42But the Reds have been playing great as of late.
00:44They've, you know, some good hitters.
00:45And if they can get to that Pirates bullpen, the Pirates may still lose the game,
00:49even though Skeens does six innings, eight strikeouts, and one earn run.
00:52The Reds come back and score.
00:54They've got some nice power in that lineup.
00:55And before you know it, at plus 144, they still come through with the win.
01:00Now, Skeens today, his total for strikeouts sits at eight plus at plus 104.
01:06Ten strikeouts is plus 360.
01:09He's pulled this off before.
01:10He's got to go seven or eight innings, I think, to get that, though, Tom.
01:12Do you like any of his props going into tonight against the Reds?
01:16You know, a part of me likes to back the outs rather than the strikeouts
01:20just because, you know, the Reds, they're kind of a pesky team at the plate,
01:23in my opinion, where they don't strike out a super high rate.
01:26They can put the ball in play.
01:26They have enough power up and down the lineup.
01:29Steer, McClain, obviously, with Ellie in there.
01:31Tyler Stephenson having a, you know, solid year.
01:32I would rather back the outs and they'll just say, like, listen, Paul,
01:36you've got to go out there and give us some length
01:38so we don't have to turn it over to the bullpen.
01:39We'll see you next time.
