Transcript
00:00Good morning everyone, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press on Thursday, August the 7th.
00:05Just bringing you our top headlines today.
00:08First of all, for those of you who caught up in traffic on the M18 last night, there were some major delays.
00:14There was a concern for someone's safety, so all lanes on the M18 were closed for some time around late tea time, early evening.
00:26We have heard back from the police to say that the person involved in that was brought to safety and transferred to hospital
00:36because there was some speculation on social media that it was an actual fatal.
00:41But we can say that the person is safe and is being looked after, so that's a happy ending for that and I hope they get the treatment that they need.
00:49Then one about a protest walk, it's being held against plans for a huge solar farm near Doncaster.
00:56The campaign group Save Our Green Belt, Connersborough Park, is battling plans for Whitestone Solar Farm
01:04which will be situated on fields between Doncaster and Rotherham.
01:08And then finally, one I put out yesterday afternoon that's been doing really well, it's come from the police.
01:16A XL bully and a Shih Tzu, pet dogs actually, attacked children in their own homes in the last 20, well it was in 24 hours both attacks took place at the beginning of the week.
01:32Both children sustained injuries from their pet dogs, you can read all about that.
01:40But they're both in South Yorkshire, the police are yet to get back to us and the whereabouts one of them was,
01:46but we do know that the second incident took place in the Hatfield area of Doncaster.
01:50The full story is on the website today, that's www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
01:56and obviously we'll always keep you updated on Facebook and X and I hope you have a great Thursday.
