00:00Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Monday, June the 23rd, just bringing you some of our headlines today.
00:05First of all, an unpleasant one. I put out a piece yesterday, Major Doncaster Road had to be closed following a serious incident.
00:14The police got back in touch with us to let us know that they were appealing for witnesses dash cam footage for an incident that happened on Bawtree Road very late on Saturday night, leading to the road closure into Sunday.
00:27A 55-year-old man was hit by a vehicle and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Thoughts with his family and friends, obviously, at this awful time.
00:37Then another emergency incident, this time involving the fire service. The South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service put out a warning yesterday for residents to keep their windows and doors closed after a grassland fire in Stainford near Hatfield Colliery was emitting a lot of smoke.
00:57We'll give you an update on that when the fire service get back to us.
01:01And then finally, good news from the courts. Doncaster crack cocaine and heroin dealers have been sentenced after a police investigation.
01:09Operation Dream Alpha was successful. All the details about those involved are on the website today, which is www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk.
01:20And we'll be putting out on social media, Facebook and X as the day goes on. And I hope you have a great Monday.
01:27We'll be coming up on social media but tomorrow.
