00:00I always am very skeptical walking into tool stores because Grant says we just need one thing
00:07and yet grab the cart. Stop buying tools. If you're anything like my husband, every single
00:15time we run into town, we make a stop at the store and just come home with more tools. You
00:22don't need any more. You just need to organize what you already have. We have tools on the farm
00:27that have been passed down through generations. We don't need any more ratchets or any more
00:32sockets. We have plenty. We've got this beautiful clean shop. We just need to fix its dirty secret.
00:39The fact that none of our tools are actually organized. I can't find anything. Here is
00:45where you can find our dirty secret. It can be found within these drawers. Grant thinks
00:53that we need to just keep buying more and more tools. I think we have plenty. I just
00:59think we need to find some better organization because frankly, at this rate, I can't find
01:06anything. What a mess. I mean, that's just embarrassing. I know exactly who my vice grips
01:13are, my scissors, my stuffers. Yeah, well, but what am I supposed to do with this? See,
01:21these are my most used ones, the 13 sixteenths. What is this one? Yeah, see, you can't even
01:28see. But usually, I'm like taking tools outside. I take them outside. I go work on my stuff and
01:37then when I bring them back. No. Yeah, we are not going to be doing that anymore. I want
01:45to be proud of these drawers. And right now, I'm not. See, I think we just need to buy like
01:51the cases of tools. No, I think we have spent enough money on tools. I think it's just time
01:59for a little more organization. My one snap-on ratchet. Got that as a wedding present. This
02:05is the special one right here. I've had these Pittsburgh sockets for years. They're the old
02:12color-coded ones. The first tools I bought. There's actually some of grandpa's tools in
02:18here. He used to paint all of his tools orange. Look at that. Is that not something grandpa would
02:25do? Mm-hmm. My baby hammer. That's my favorite tool. See, the new stuff's all organized. Oh,
02:36yeah. This is one of grandpa's. It's broken. Somewhere you can see some orange paint on these
02:46things. How long have those tools of your grandpa's been on the farm? Long time. So what's nice
02:51is grandpa left me all of his tools so I could use them. But I can't use dad's. Dad won't
02:56let me use his tools. So Laura's probably right. I probably shouldn't buy anymore. I'd probably
03:01just organize what I have. We've got some nice tools. Even a snap-on one. And your grandpa
03:06bought some nice stuff. We just need to be able to actually find it. We've even got homemade
03:11tools. Look at that thing. Made that out of desperation. I don't know if that's safe for
03:16why consumer use. Oh my goodness. See, look at this one. That has a special use. Only
03:22one thing on the farm uses that. What's that? The jeep transfer case. Yeah, we probably do
03:30need some organization. If you look on some of these tools, I have my grandpa's name scratched
03:35into them. I think most of our vice grips are being used to hold things together. That's
03:40definitely what grandpa is. All right, we'll organize it. I think all of these drawers need
03:51to be labeled on the outside. I can find everything in the kitchen. I know where everything is, somebody
03:58doesn't. I want to be able to look into any of these drawers from the outside and see what's
04:06there. So when Grant asks me for something, he's not waiting. There's a reason the robot
04:13and I clean the shop and you and Pepper cook the kitchen. We divide and conquer. Okay. We
04:19know our skills and we use them accordingly. I want to be just as knowledgeable in the shop
04:25as Grant is. I don't really want to load the dishwasher. Maybe after I help Grant organize
04:34all his tools, you guys can convince him to help me on the dishwasher once or twice, huh?
04:38All right, you can label my toolbox and you can label your cabinets.
04:44Hmm? Hmm. We'll think on that one. Five years almost of marriage and I finally convinced him
04:51to start wearing a wedding ring. So it's one of those little rubber ones. Still not used to it.
04:57But he's mine. Nobody can have him. It took a couple years though. He's not convinced.
05:03I lost my real wedding ring. That's what actually happened. And I just have conveniently never
05:08worn one since. I think Grant is just a little upset that I paid $23 for basically a glorified
05:14O-ring. I think it looks pretty nice though. Someday I'm going to use this as a gasket in a
05:19pinch. So you're really just storing things, you know? I need an actual hose clamp on the
05:26other one.
05:27I always am very skeptical walking into tool stores because Grant says we just need one
05:39thing and yet grab the cart. What in the world? Why would we ever need that?
05:50For big bolts. Put that back. No tools. We are here on a mission. Organization only. These
06:03look pretty handy. These things are kind of cool. Not really what I'm looking for though.
06:15I think it's the last time you guys saw real drinking fountains. I feel like COVID closed
06:19all these down. Here we go. Now we're talking. Ooh. Do they slide? Cool. I like these though.
06:36So you can see where everything goes. That's nice. Yeah. Stuff like this.
06:43So right now all my sockets are laying down and they roll around when you open the drawers.
06:49So I want something that stands up. So then you can see them easier. Something like this.
06:55Just one thing. Plenty of other folks in here shopping for tools. They probably just need
07:07organization. What's the point of this? Grant claims he must buy these because they have his
07:15hands on them. What in the world? What do you, what do you even know you're holding?
07:20It's a bucket guard for all the dirt.
07:24Look at this, Grant. It's a retro tool set. This definitely looks like something grandpa would've
07:35had the shop. I'm playing with the mirror. I would love to play with this when I was a kid.
07:42It locks and everything. That's awesome.
07:49Only 84 bucks. Don't even think about it. Walk to the checkout. We already have a full cart.
08:00Keep walking. Grant, seriously. They're ratchets.
08:05Yeah, I know. We've got, we have ratchets at home. Yeah, we, yeah.
08:09Not this big. They're $160. Are you kidding me?
08:16I already think our whole cart would be cheaper than $160.
08:19Let's just get home and organize the stuff we actually have.
08:22$200 wrenches? I didn't know they made such expensive stuff at Arborfoot.
08:27I feel like they really missed an opportunity to put these in rainbow order according to size.
08:33Wouldn't that be easier? You know what would be really easy is just buying a brand new socket set
08:39if they come in a little organizer all by themselves.
08:42But instead, we're working with what we've got.
08:45Okay, that's, that's pretty cute.
08:48Do you think they're talking about Snap-on?
08:51We have one Snap-on ratchet and Grant got it for a wedding present.
08:56It's a very special ratchet.
08:58You can get a few vintage cats sc Agrit-off camera stand and gedaan.
09:08Okay
09:09And now we have time for a sept Ll求-off camera.
09:12Ok.
09:21Just one thing.
09:51This all came out of two drawers.
10:04That is amazing.
10:05I'm really glad I didn't buy any tools because clearly I have plenty.
10:10Just need to organize them.
10:12For that, we will use these, these, and these.
10:38This have all been organized.
10:41As you can see, I'm missing a few.
10:43I've made a list, and we will pick up the ones I'm missing.
10:48But one drawer is holding all that two drawers used to hold, and I have room for lots more.
10:54Now it's time for the wrenches.
10:57It's not just that drawer, but this one too.
11:08It's time for the wrenches.
11:20It's time for the wrenches.
11:22what do you know i convinced grant to let me put labels on the outside of the toolbox and i have
11:47to admit i think it looks pretty good i mean ask me where something goes great okay um i need a half
11:55inch socket okay what deep well one deep well yeah okay all right i need that that was so fast i need
12:08a step drill bit okay here what does this what does step mean oh you're so close this thing
12:20see it steps wow one one size fits all kind of thing really so you just like go in however far
12:28oh that's pretty smart i need some safety glasses
12:31bam nice um what else do i need i need an allen wrench uh what's that what's that and you got
12:43them all you got them all there look at that quick draw you can be my gopher very good about this
12:49so happy are you guys ready for the final reveal after much condensing consolidating organizing and
12:56yes did have to buy a little bit more to complete the sets i present to you the new and improved socket drawer
13:26i mean that is just masterful it's so beautiful you can see where everything is it fits so nicely
13:39and look i mean look at this ready
13:41it's just the wrenches i already had with the harbor freight organizers
13:50lining them all up and you can tell i mean so some of them are master force some are cobalt
13:55some are super torque some are crescent they're all kind of mix and match jumbled together
14:01i know for a fact one of you guys sent us this exact wrench last year we were running out of 15 16s
14:09this is the planter wrench everything on the planter is this size right here all the adjustments we make
14:15and you guys came through i think we got about eight 15 16s wrenches and do you know what
14:21we never ever were missing one this year because i put one on each side of the planter
14:26one in the tractor one on our tractor toolbox we had one in every pickup one of the seed tender
14:31was so nice we are so grateful and another thing that i know for a fact people have sent in
14:37these vice grips we are always running out of ice grips so i know at least one of you guys have sent
14:48us one of these so we are so appreciative and now oh pepper likes it we can actually find them
14:54pepper i'm gonna get in the drawer there's actually room for you to stand now this is just so nice
15:02now this does mean that when we take all of our tools out on the four-wheeler like grant was saying
15:07and then we come back we need to take a little bit more time to actually put them back in their spots
15:12where they belong but with a little bit of practice i think we can get used to that i don't know if you
15:18guys remember but this was the new addition for our winter shop cleaning and it is looking nice
15:25i honestly like the labels so much i think we should label that whole thing really i think so
15:30but along with this new cupboard what do you call it drawer desk bench workbench we'll call it a workbench
15:40and the label toolbox that's all organized and our bolts and nuts selection we have been more
15:48productive than ever we are truly set up and ready for anything you want to talk about labeled drawers
15:55drawers we already have all of those look at this all of our electrical needs yeah not just bolts
16:03and nuts i've got everything here zip ties zip ties we've got a little bit of everything i'm a big
16:10believer in labels now it's nice i just like being able to find where stuff is makes me feel way more
16:15useful when we're out working on something and grant is hands deep in something and i can just run and
16:20get it for him speaking of working on stuff we have our first projects
16:25easy got a little tight in there the mower how many hours this bad boy have on it oh 117
16:37i think it's about time to sharpen the blades i think so too it's mowing the other day and you
16:42can see just a little bit of a strip that it's kind of leaving behind this thing's been good but i think
16:46it's time for a little freshen up let's use our not new tools but newly organized tools this should
16:55go twice as fast now they're going to find everything
16:58we're pretty bad yeah i definitely saved about time
17:28what size do you think those are
17:32what size do you think those are
17:40what size do you think those are that's pretty big that actually might be a 15 16s go grab one
17:44is it 15 16s and 25 the same uh 15 16 is 24 the same
17:49all right close
17:51both just in case
17:56someone tried telling me that both is pronounced
18:04both not both that's how i say it both
18:08both there's no l in there is there
18:15i don't know what
18:16is it 25 25 well look at you you grab both
18:25i'm like grabbing the right tool for the job the first time yeah that's a good feeling i see that see
18:30right back where it belongs just like that i grabbed the impact
18:35that's what you read my mind there you go heavy duty
18:43all right so it would be spinning the reverse way right
18:50you know what i'm saying give her a couple of good others in whatever way you think
18:54there you go something's happening
19:14so covered in grass
19:24at least it came out easy yeah that wasn't bad at all
19:28check that out do you remember when we did the blades on the shredder oh my goodness these
19:40things look like toys
19:49what do you guys think about putting a mulching kit on this thing we don't bag our clippings
19:54but it does shoot them out the side
19:58you know what i think we need grant since we usually wait so long tomorrow lawn
20:01i think we just need to get some hay equipment and start bailing it
20:18there we go last one easy as that boy that one looks roached look at that yeah that's the one
20:28that i usually drive up against the landscaping road oh because it shoots out the other side safety first
20:58that's why i got gloves on i'm pretty sure a subscriber sent us those gloves too probably
21:21you're not wearing a really farmer outfit right now you know that we got we got three inches of rain
21:26yesterday yesterday i'm on i'm on break doing fun things on my day off
21:34does this count as fun oh yeah this is great i love doing this
21:39i've got the farmer out a little lower maintenance
21:44closed toe shoes
21:50must have gotten something a little wiry there is that that tarp by the trees maybe
21:55probably
22:03careful it's hot that's why i got gloves on ask me how i know
22:10you sure have a lot of confidence in this tiny little chain here i have lifted way more with way less
22:17i don't know if that's a good thing
22:28probably should have it something underneath this
22:34look at that oh they turn together yeah there's a belt running on all of them
22:38well look at that okay now you know what we do next
22:48come on there we go
22:59safety first or as my dad would say safety third
23:13that's it my earplugs my earplugs i've got the pink ones
23:16where are you going now well this meat wheels spin just fine
23:26uh-huh i think this one's just too tight
23:29oh look at that how did you do that
23:34master
23:36aha look at that much better
23:50let's say nylock so it can be so the bolt can be loose but the nut is still tight
23:57cool i think i remember seeing the yeah these is that what these are here
24:02these
24:09yep you got that little ring on them and then that holds it tight i knew it
24:23there's no way
24:24i threw the wrenches on the table and left the drawer open wow no now see these are the habits
24:34we're trying to correct it might take us a little bit but we're going to get there
24:38gotta keep things organized nice and clean so much easier going down and up effortless
24:49this chain hoist was in here when we moved into the shop
24:54how many times have we used this look how old that thing is
24:59gale spur geared block
25:04what's the weight rating on that thing anyone know
25:10it's at least a lawnmower
25:13now since grant got to buy more than organizational stuff namely this right here you remember him
25:23putting that in the cart i snuck something in the cart too but it was significantly smaller and cheaper
25:32as a reward for finally getting everything all organized and label
25:37i found the cutest miniature toolbox and i've got just what we need to stock it but first we need to open it
25:51it's packaged so nicely
26:05it's packaged so nicely
26:18tada
26:18it's perfect look at the little drawers that thing is so cute now this is officially just for
26:33laura tools just so i can't use them nope these are just laura tools and you know the best things
26:39about laura tools is that they fit my hands meaning they're minis
26:45i'm going to start with this deep bottom drawer i'm going to put my micro combo wrench set
26:55like this right on the side there and next i'm going to have my little baby ratchet
27:07fits perfectly right there next side cutters
27:14next to the ratchet i need to put my little sockets
27:27oh and the extension how can i forget
27:32and then close that drawer get magnets and everything in the top drawer
27:44so since you put labels on my toolbox i can put labels on your toolbox
27:53my little pliers
28:01it's so mini
28:05cross the wrench
28:08miniature vice grips
28:10those are so cute they're so tiny would you actually use those for i don't know mini tractors
28:20what do you call these okay uh channel locks well i've got two a mini and a mini ear
28:29those lay nicely

29:03anyone recognize that logo
29:07well it still works
29:10that goes in the top it's perfect and we'll put this
29:22right next to the big toolbox
29:27perfect
29:32i hope this video has been an inspiration to you
29:35to fill in the gaps in your collection you don't have to never buy another tool again
29:41but take what you already have get it organized and do your best to keep it organized
29:46now i'm going to need you to keep us accountable so in about three to six months i need you to comment
29:54give us an update on the organized tool situation because that will be the true test on if we actually
29:59did a good job in placing everything correctly and if we're really sticking to the habit of keeping this table clean
30:05and keeping our tools put away maybe uh miss pepper can help us with that along with all the mice
