Miguel Clement has only been on his own for a little over a month since the unfortunate passing of his father, trainer Christophe Clement, but he has hit the ground running, with two Grade I stakes wins to his credit. The 34-year-old joins the TDN Writers' Room this week to talk about what it has been like managing the stable iwthout his father, and who his most difficult owner is. (Hint: her name is also Clement...) The guest of the week is sponsored by Gainesway, home to Drain the Clock, who sold a $175,000 yearling from his first crop at Saratoga this week.

00:00Welcome in now the Gainesway Guest of the Week. It's none other than Miguel Clement, one of the hottest trainers, not just in New York, but in the entire country.
00:07Yeah, it was overwhelming, to say the least. I started the week as a winless trainer and ended the week as a great one-winning trainer, so there was a lot going on that week.
00:16That was great. It was very rewarding. We ran two of that, three in the race. It was far ridden the terminus taking the stretch, two stable favorites, duking it out.
00:24Our guest of the week, Miguel Clement, was brought to you by Gainesway. The first yearlings by Gainesway's lightning-fast grade one sprinter, Drain the Clock, went through the ring Monday night at Saratoga.
00:36Right off the bat, the third yearling sold was Drain the Clock Colt, who brought $175,000 from new owner Topline Sales.
00:44His first yearling sold at Fasig Tipped in July for up to $125,000.
00:51Back when he was a racehorse, Drain the Clock, a son of McLean's music, was the first horse to defeat champion sprinter Jackie's Warrior around one turn.
00:58That was in the Woody Stevens, and now as a stallion?
01:02Well, the Saratoga Colt sold for 17 and a half times Drain the Clock's stud fee.
01:08His July top seller, 12 and a half times the stud fee.
01:11You can do the math yourself. Drain the Clock stands at Gainesway for only $10,000.
01:17Be on the lookout for more of his progeny at this weekend's Fasig Tipped in New York Bread Sale and, of course, at Keeneland's September.
01:25Gainesway, power, passion, performance.
01:34Drain the Clock will win and win by as much as he wants.
