00:00Adam, impressive 3-1 win against Quinton Casuals tonight. Must be really happy with that.
00:06Yeah, definitely. We said last week it's important to get a point on the board and then follow it up this week with a good positive result.
00:14So to get our first win as well is a good start to the first two games, definitely.
00:19Yeah, I mean, four points out of six to start. Just pointing out the obvious, but a really good start.
00:25Yeah, definitely. We're very happy where we are. We still feel collectively that we're probably three or four weeks away from being where we need to be at.
00:36But there's positive performances out there, which puts us in a really good place going forward.
00:43Yeah, obviously early on in the season, so you're obviously going to improve naturally over the next few weeks as people get used to each other and building things, aren't they?
00:50Yeah, no, that's what we said to the lads. If we don't change our 16, then just within that they're going to get better because they're young lads that are going to learn experiences on the way.
01:00So, listen, we've got lads that are only going to get better throughout the season.
01:04And then we've still got room to add some quality to that, which we're looking to do. So we're in a really good place.
01:10Fell behind early on, that didn't knock you at all, did it?
01:14Nah, it was, listen, performance-wise, probably a different performance to what we've had to give this year.
01:20You see a sloppy goal to concede early on, sort of tested with some questions that have been thrown over the lads and whether they can deal with setbacks and whatnot.
01:30And I thought they responded brilliantly in the first half. Like I said, second half there to dig in and give a different performance, but prove they can do it. So a good night's work, definitely.
01:40Yeah, so both sides there really, because first half was sort of really impressive, sort of dominant performance, you know, locked chances playing well.
01:48And then second half sort of managed the game really well and then obviously got the third, but yeah.
01:52Yeah, I think that's just the way games go. Like they're a decent side. They're well fancied this year to be up there.
01:58So naturally when they're chasing a game, they're going to have good spells of possession.
02:02I thought on the whole, we limited them to sort of shots outside the box, crosses into the box.
02:07I don't think at any point they sort of really stuck it on us for five or ten minutes solidly where we're really under the cosh.
02:13I thought we dealt with it well, which is a good sign.
02:17Yeah, I mean, Harry didn't have a lot to do really, just a couple of shots from outside the box. Is that to play?
02:21Yeah, we brought him in for his presence and I think, and he's a good goalkeeper.
02:25I think that proved tonight, he came and claimed a few. And yeah, he's made some good saves from outside the box.
02:31But yeah, a good start for Harry as well.
02:33Harry's had to come off early on, or is it a bit early to know?
02:37Yeah, listen, it was a pretty heavy challenge. Early doors, first minute or so, and he's landed awkwardly on his back.
02:44So hopefully, touch wood, it's not too bad, but we'll probably see and know more from sort of Thursday.
02:50But Lewis came on for him and obviously made a real impact, didn't he?
02:54Yeah, Paschi come on, done really well. For me, probably sort of our man of the match for me.
02:58I thought going forward and back, you know, sort of chips into the goal.
03:02But particularly the defensive side of it tonight, I thought it was very good.
03:06So yeah, good performance from Paschi.
03:08Yeah, so it was composed finishing for him for the second. And he also played a big one on the first goal, playing that sort of three ball.
03:14Sort of start it off, didn't he?
03:15Definitely, yeah. Like I said, a very good performance. To come off the bench and get right up to speed with it is very good. So yeah, good performance from him.
03:22And Ben, obviously with the equaliser, adding to two on Saturday. So he's sort of hit the ground running, isn't he, goals-wise there?
03:28Yeah, look, listen, I know BJ very well. I work with him every day, sort of through work and college and stuff for him.
03:34So I know, I know what he's about and what you get with him is not only is he a hard worker and he'll run back fours for fun, but he can put the ball in and he's proved that the last two games.
03:45And again, he's a lad that's only going to get better with experiences. So I think we've got a really exciting lad in the squad there, for sure.
03:53And at half-time two and up, as you say, played really well in that first half. Must have been obviously a really sort of positive change room at half-time.
03:59Yeah, it was. I think there's still a bit of frustration. I thought we'd moved the ball slowly and we could have been a bit quicker.
04:06And there's a few little details we had to iron out. But yeah, listen, the response and the mentality to responding was really pleasing.
04:16So yeah, it was just tiny tweaks we made at half-time.
04:19And then Eric obviously came to the bench and just wrapped it up there in stoppage time.
04:23Yeah, listen, Eric's brilliant spring on and he will soon get his opportunity to start a game.
04:30But he brings brilliant energy. Again, just tops up after BJ's sort of running for 75 minutes or whatnot.
04:38He comes on and tops it up even more. And yeah, really pleased for him to get his goal.
04:43From a good, very good run by Ollie St Vincent. So yeah, pleasing.
04:47And you say four points, that's it. Great start. And obviously plenty of confidence to take him to Abbey Rangers.
04:53Yeah, listen, Abbey are going to be another strong side. Again, always a top half team.
04:59So there'll be no sort of complacency going into it. We'll train Thursday and try and fix a few bits.
05:06But we'll go in full confidence, like you say, down here on our pitch that we can push anyone for a good game at the ball.
