00:00Gary, an entertaining 5-3 win against Eversley in California. I presume it was a very happy change room after that?

00:07Indeed. It's been difficult the last couple of weeks and we found ourselves in a very similar position today

00:13where I think our ability on the ball actually saw through in the end

00:20but there's been other weeks where we just keep on throwing away leads or throwing away goals

00:26which keeps on giving us an uphill battle. I think today, I think the right result in the end

00:32but again what we've done is we've put ourselves in a position where we've had to dig deep

00:37and pull ourselves out.

00:40Yeah, I mean you've been scoring goals for fun this season but obviously letting a few in

00:45and at 3-2 down you did obviously dig yourselves out and really in the second half really took control, didn't you?

00:50Yeah, so within the first 15 minutes we played into the game plan

00:55we spoke to the boys about how they would play which was going to be physical and very direct

01:01they played exactly what we expected them to play

01:03and I think the first 10-15 minutes we got the ball down

01:07we played between their lines, we got between them

01:10and that's where our goal come from really

01:11and after that we played into their hands

01:15we stopped going through the transition box in the middle of the park

01:19and they started to pick up first, second balls

01:22and then just shoved it straight down our throats and we just put pressure on us

01:25and realistically we were just making poor decisions

01:28we were moving the ball quick enough in the first half

01:30we spoke about it half-time

01:32told them all we need to do is put our foot on the ball, move it at tempo

01:36move through the centre of the park and just switch the play

01:39as soon as we started switching the play

01:40I think our wingers both sides had better their full backs

01:44and that's where I would suggest 75% of the chances come

01:48and then it was just about us being clinical

01:50and today we were

01:51Obviously at half-time you do go in and obviously put the message to the players to turn the game around

01:57but when it does come off like that obviously satisfying isn't it?

02:00Oh very satisfying, very happy changing room

02:04you know we were on the end of something different on Monday

02:08when we played at Alton where we were actually leading 3-2 from the majority of the game

02:12in the last five minutes they've come back to us

02:15and we've gone into the changing room at 3-0 after the game

02:17you know and the team was down because it was a game that we should have come away with the points

02:22today completely different

02:24you know we got the third and as soon as we got the third

02:26I was 100% willing to get the fourth and we were going to get the fifth

02:30and if it was longer we were probably going to get the sixth as well

02:33but unfortunately we can't afford to do that every week

02:36we shouldn't need to be winning and scoring five goals to win a game

02:39Yeah I mean the goals you are scoring as a side is obviously really encouraging isn't it?

02:44I mean that part of the play consistently you know getting two plus goals a game really aren't you?

02:49Yeah well I think there's no question about the ability of the guys

02:52the young lads who can play really good football

02:56they move the ball quickly

02:58our rotations

02:59the way that we're able to transfer the ball from one side to the pitch to the other

03:04is extremely good

03:05and teams that we're playing are struggling to deal with that

03:08the problem is what we need to do is be stronger

03:11off the ball

03:14we need to be quicker

03:15to get into shape off the ball

03:17and it's just that desire when it comes to 50-50

03:21the second ball

03:22in order to be the one who actually wins that

03:25puts us on the front foot

03:26and show a little bit of resilience

03:28As I say right at the start of the game

03:30you came out really brightly

03:31and obviously you got the first goal

03:32going to pass a really nice sort of guided hendo wasn't it there

03:35at the start

03:36Yeah definitely

03:36I think most of our goals today

03:38absolutely great

03:39and topped off by Freddie at the end

03:41who hit an absolute worldie from 30 yards

03:45not quite sure he was going for that corner

03:46but who cares

03:47it looked absolutely fantastic

03:48Yeah it's a great strike from him

03:50and a great strike from Freddie as well

03:51picking out the top corner as well

03:53a real spectacular one from him

03:54Yeah well we know his ability

03:56and as soon as he cut inside

03:57it was just about him making the space

04:00and you saw it open up

04:02and as soon as he hit it

04:02there was no doubt that he was fighting in the top corner

04:05yeah great finish

04:06and two for Louis Hamlin as well

04:07he's obviously him getting in the goals quite regularly as well

04:10Yeah well known goal scorer

04:12and he continues to do what he's done season on season

04:16which is score goals

04:17yeah quiet at times

04:18but what he does

04:19he links up the play well

04:20he manages to occupy centre-halves

04:23link our tens

04:25and then basically

04:26he's in the right place

04:27at the right time

04:28in order to finish the ball

04:29and that's all you can ask from a striker

04:31when the ball comes

04:32put it in the net

04:32Happy with where you are now

04:34it's only been one defeat so far

04:35obviously I guess he would have liked

04:36a few more draws into wins

04:37but with that win today

04:38it's a really encouraging start

04:40really overall isn't it?

04:41I think today was important

04:42it was important

04:44to turn goals into points

04:49when you look at the games that we've drawn

04:55disappointing them

04:57we're not on more points

04:59but when you look at it

05:02new management team

05:03pretty much new squad

05:05playing back in the league

05:07that they haven't played in

05:08for a couple of seasons

05:10and we're going in the right direction

05:13there's no doubt

05:14this team is only going to get better

05:16and as they cut out the mistakes

05:19continue to learn the game

05:20and I don't mean that from

05:23you know

05:25they know football

05:26but it's just about

05:27making the right decisions

05:28at the right time

05:29when to manage the game

05:31when to go for the goal

05:32when actually to

05:33shield the ball down

05:35once they start

05:36putting that into the game

05:37then yeah

05:37I think you'll see a step up

05:39to the next level

05:40yeah I mean a new group

05:41and a young group

05:42naturally they're going to

05:43learn that sort of game management

05:44and naturally get stronger

05:46you would have thought

05:47as the season goes on

05:48yeah well there's a lot of boys here

05:50who

05:50this will be their first season

05:52playing men's football

05:53you know

05:53they've transitioned

05:54either from under 18s

05:55or under 23s

05:56and there's a big difference

05:58in both visuality

05:59and the speed of the game

06:01and I think most of them

06:02are dealing with it

06:03pretty well

06:04and as I said

06:06as every game

06:08is notched off

06:09and every positive result

06:11comes from that

06:12then as I said

06:13we're only going to get better

06:14and now sort of

06:15a good week to build up

06:16to something common

06:17and obviously look to

06:18just keep building momentum

06:20when we see this week

06:21and when that comes around

06:22next Saturday

06:22indeed

06:23back on the training ground

06:24Tuesday and Thursday

06:25look at where

06:27we can improve

06:28as always

06:30run the boys through

06:31what we're going to do

06:33on Saturday

06:34and yeah

06:34bring them on

06:35I have no doubt

06:36we'll go into that game

06:38with confidence

06:39expecting

06:40that as long as we play

06:42like we did in the

06:43second half of today

06:44that we come away

06:45with a positive result
