Do you have a 1-1 draw against Met Police? Chances to win that or draw a fair result, thoughts on that?
00:08
We're disappointed because I think the amount of times we visited their final third, which we'd done well to get to,
00:16
just the lack of quality, the lack of... the boys do really well to get there and the final bit,
00:21
it's either the final pass, final shot, final cross, just is lacking in quality and Vick's just gone through that with them in there.
00:29
That's the thing that's letting us down. The other week we looked like we were going to score all the time,
00:34
the games were a little bit more open but we looked like we could concede.
00:38
I think we looked better defensively, if I'm honest, I thought the boys at the back were good.
00:42
George was excellent, probably switched off once in the game and unfortunately for him they scored.
00:48
It's a great finish but we're always going to look at it and go, well how could we have done better?
00:55
If I looked at the game overall, a point's probably fair but we probably had more entries into the final third,
01:09
I believe, when we got in behind quite a lot. That don't win you games, it's a tough one to take really.
01:19
Plenty of promising moments and getting in behind and that final delivery.
01:26
A little bit of ruthlessness and that's the thing that's missing. Decision making, I think Finn's been excellent.
01:33
He's listened to what we've told him in the last couple of games, he was excellent Saturday.
01:36
I thought he'd done well today. When it mattered, when it was one-all, it's almost that I've got to be the hero.
01:43
I think there was one where he could have rolled someone in a better position and he shot from 20 yards.
01:48
That's him, he wants to score goals and I can't knock him for that.
01:55
But if someone's in a better position, it's them things you've got to learn well.
01:58
You've got to do the selfless thing and roll someone in and if they miss, you've provided a better opportunity.
02:04
I thought we could have done better. I think Charlie had a chance as well that he probably could have done better.
02:10
Jaheim was excellent. Done all the hard work, graphs, gives us everything.
02:16
But it's just those final bits where he just can't put the ball in the net.
02:20
Whether he's going to get that goal, I don't know. For me, I thought it was an own goal.
02:26
My wife, who'd come and put it on our group, I thought it was an own goal because someone asked and she doesn't know anything about football.
02:35
But he was in the right place. He's won the header. We were fortunate with the goal.
02:40
I think he won all points a point. We need Fredo and it is a little bit disappointing.
02:48
He got off at the back post, he's headed it back across and then the guy just sidesteps it in.
02:53
He just missed time down the end, kicked it in the roof of the net.
02:56
He got that just before half-time, a good time to score obviously.
02:59
What was the message at half-time going into that second half?
03:02
We needed another goal because one thing we haven't done all season is keep it clean.
03:05
We've kept one clean sheet, which was God knows how long ago, against South Park.
03:10
Always think we're going to need another one. If we got another one, who knows, would we have won?
03:16
I would have liked to think so. Like I say, just switched off, just once really, that was it.
03:21
One switch off, great strike. You can't take anything away from the lad who's hit it.
03:26
It was an unbelievable strike and Harry's got no chance because it's in the top corner.
03:29
It's from the edge of the box, it's flat right in that top corner.
03:32
It was nice, it just sat up nice for a volley. Harry didn't really have a chance really.
03:38
And then late on the game, got quite open late on there and a few chances late on.
03:44
I thought it was always a bit scrappy because the pitch wasn't, although it was better than I thought it would be,
03:50
it's a little bit bobbly, difficult to play on.
03:57
The lads have got to deal with it though. I was pleased with what we did.
04:00
I thought we made some good decisions. We've said to them it's about decision making,
04:03
making the right choices at the right times, not over-complicating, getting it in behind.
04:09
Finn's a willing runner, so I thought we did that.
04:12
Like I say, just lacking in the final third, lacking from set pieces.
04:17
Can't really seem to, I think we won one right at the end.
04:20
As I said, the corner at the end.
04:21
It was an easy save, but at least we've won one.
04:24
I thought we dealt with their long throw well, we dealt with their corner as well.
04:27
Loads of positives, but for us we needed, I'd rather take a load of negatives and sneak to 1-0 when we were rubbish.
04:34
Yeah, take the positives. One of the three, I guess.
04:39
Defensively solid though?
04:41
Yeah, I've been pleased, it's been good.
04:43
We've had a lot of issues this season, I don't want to make excuses,
04:46
but we've had people, like Alex was out, come two games out for eight, nine weeks.
04:51
Cal never injured, he got injured, he was out for ages.
04:54
Lacking left-footed centre-halves.
04:57
Eden Cummins did well, picked up injuries, not always been fully fit.
05:03
Done well when he's played, also not done so well in some games.
05:07
Ben came in and played a couple, so we've had a load of changes in defences.
05:11
He's played left-back, we've had Sammy play right-back, we've had Taro, Taro got injured.
05:15
So it's been frustrating, but I do feel now we've got sort of a settled 16,
05:24
where at the minute I think the 11 that start, especially the back four and David and Louise, have done really well.
05:32
The rest we could probably ask for more out, but they're probably the harder people we've got to make a difference.
05:39
Yeah, it's helped. Cal and Alex, two left-footers in the team, to give us that balance.
05:46
Al's got a little bit more experience, probably helps the younger lads feel a little bit more at ease on the pitch.
05:52
Hopefully they can stay fit and give us a good last, what have we got, 14, 15 games?
05:59
It just gives you that solid platform, doesn't it, really, to go off, doesn't it?
06:03
Yeah, because if you don't concede goals, you're in with a chance of winning games.
06:07
Unfortunately, we've conceded a lot of goals, so it's nice the last two games to have looked defensively sound,
06:14
but now we need to find the other bit when it matters. Can we put the ball in the net and kill games off?
06:19
Yeah, and thoughts now on Hartley Whitney?
06:22
Yeah, tough one, because they're obviously doing really, really well.
06:25
I don't know, I did hear they were losing to Binfield, I don't know how that ended up, but they're having a good season.
06:32
They're used to winning games, so if they've got beat tonight, they'll be wanting to put that right on Saturday.
06:38
So, yeah, it'll be a tough one.
06:40
Yeah, you just want to build on their solidness and just that little bit extra in the final third?
06:46
Yeah, just when it matters. When it matters is the important thing.
06:50
Can we keep a clean sheet when it matters? Can we put the ball in the back of the net when it matters?
06:54
And that has been lacking.
