00:09And obviously stood up well in the second half when they were putting balls in the box, thoughts on that overall?
00:14I've just said to the lads in the bigger picture and looking at the season across the whole,
00:20we come here and take a point, we'll be happy with it.
00:24And to be fair, probably after the first 15 minutes of the game we'd have been happy with a point.
00:29The disappointment is we've obviously turned it on the back end of the first half, sorry,
00:35and sort of took the game away from them at 3-1, giving away a sloppy goal.
00:40And yeah, listen, if one chance is, and probably had a game's turn like you said, I'd say it's a fair result.
00:49But yeah, there's a real frustration with us at the minute in terms of seeing games out and sort of getting wins.
00:56I just said to the lads in there, we've only lost one league game and we've drawn too many through our mistakes really.
01:04And then it's something that we've got to fix, we've got to finish quickly.
01:08Yeah, as you say, it's sort of a mixed emotion, isn't it?
01:10Because on paper it's a good point here, they've had a good start.
01:12But when you sort of have that great spell and get 3-1 up, you obviously do want to see it now, don't you?
01:16Yeah, no, that's it. And like we said, we're frustrated. The good thing is we know what we have to fix.
01:24We've tried that with personnel, we've tried it with tweaking little bits in sort of how we play.
01:30And to be fair to the lads, they've stood up for a good 80 minutes there and dealt with balls in the box.
01:35But as I said to them, you've got to be able to do it for 100 minutes in games now.
01:39And then you can do all the hard work you want if you switch off for one minute.
01:43It's going to cost you. And against a side like Alton, they will punish you.
01:47And to be fair, they probably should have nicked it towards the end.
01:51Listen, like I said, we'll take the point and we'll take positives out of it again.
01:54But we need to start converting these into wins quick time.
01:58Yeah, so Alton came out bright in that first 15, got 1-0 up.
02:01But then you had that really great spell, didn't you?
02:03You got the three goals and they were all really sort of good quality goals, weren't they?
02:06Yeah, no, listen, we were poor to start. We didn't settle on the ball.
02:10We were panicked. We didn't get close enough to them.
02:13They stuck it on us in the first half, played in our half.
02:17Listen, it probably took their goal to sort of liven us up a little bit.
02:22And then we started to get a foothold in the game.
02:24And then like you said, listen, we bring lads like Stan and Lou into the club
02:28because we know what they're about.
02:29And I mean, I don't think you'll get a better finisher than Lou Hamlin.
02:33So yeah, we've scored some good goals.
02:36But I've just said, we've had to work really hard to get our goals, scored good goals.
02:40And we've gifted them some really poor ones that we'll look back on and be disappointed with.
02:45Yeah, I guess giving away the penalty right on half time to make it 3-2 is obviously a bit of a big moment in hindsight, isn't it?
02:50Yeah, no, 100%. And like Harrison's come in and done well for us.
02:54And I think you can argue both ways if it's a penalty or not.
02:58So we can't really argue with it.
03:00But again, I said to the lads, the disappointment from it is that their left wingers run the whole way across the pitch
03:06and then pass the ball without someone tackling them.
03:09So yeah, listen, it is what it is.
03:12We're in a good place.
03:14Like I said, we know what we need to be better at.
03:16And once we tidy them up, I think we'll be really competitive.
03:21Yeah, I mean, you know, you look a real threat sort of going forwards, don't you?
03:24So, you know, they almost say that's almost the hardest part in football, isn't it?
03:27So the fact you've got sort of that nailed down, if you just sort of tighten up a little bit at the back, you know,
03:31chores will turn into wins, won't they?
03:33Yeah, that's it.
03:34And again, you add all today's goals in, I think we've conceded 15 goals this year.
03:41And I'd say 12 of them are from set pieces and corners, which we're looking stronger at.
03:47But like I said, we've got to do it for the whole game.
03:49So the actual shape and structure of the team, we don't concede many goals from open play.
03:53We don't.
03:54It's the other side of it, which is massive in this league.
03:57We need to be better at.
03:58And so it's now obviously in California at home on Saturday.
04:01Yeah, listen, they're a side that went on some run last year to get themselves promoted.
04:07From what I know, they'll be a real tight-knit group and together.
04:11So, yeah, listen, no easy games in this league.
04:14We'll prepare going into Thursday ready for them.
04:18But like I said to the lads, if we play how we know we can play for sustained periods of the game,
04:24we will beat any side in this league.
