00:00Armed gangs has once again plunged a Haitian community into fear and paralysis after gunmen

00:06stormed a local orphanage on Sunday, abducting eight people, including an Irish missionary

00:11and a three-year-old child. The attack targeted St. Elaine orphanage in Kenscoff, a once-triving

00:18agricultural area near Port-au-Prince, now overrun by a violent gang alliance known as Viva Sam.

00:25There is almost no one left in the neighborhood. We can't work here with worried hearts. At

00:32all times, you see armed gangs, people coming towards you telling you to run or stop.

00:42The violence has gripped agriculture in the area, forcing families to flee just when they

00:47should be sowing crops.

00:50We are running when we should be caring for our plantation. We can't do anything during

01:04the season. We have to plant beans, but we can't because of the situation. Everyone

01:09is running. We can't stay in the area because of the shooting. We can't relax. The incidence

01:17adds to IET's growing humanitarian crisis with over a million people already displaced due

01:24to gang violence. According to international aid groups, no group has claimed responsibility

01:31for the kidnapping.
