With festive food prices rising sharply, we asked people in Birmingham how they plan to manage this year’s Christmas dinner. Are they changing what they buy—or even skipping the traditional meal altogether?

00:03It's never quite the same as having a meal at home.

00:14I don't eat a traditional Christmas meal,
00:16but I go to my daughters now anyhow, so Christmas is free to me.
00:23This is a boring answer for me, but I actually usually skip the big traditional meal.
00:28Usually, my husband and I just do something small at home,
00:31so we're pretty flexible with Christmas shopping.
00:33Obviously, it's a bit harder for people with bigger families,
00:36but we can kind of work around those things.
00:39Well, last year, me and my family went to a pub for Christmas dinner.
00:45It just saves all the effort.
00:47I'm going to my dad's. I'm letting him pay for it.
