With Christmas approaching, we asked people in Birmingham what they love most about this time of year. For those celebrating, what are their favourite traditions? And for those who don’t, what do they enjoy most about the festive atmosphere?

00:00I think the food. The food. We don't really do that many.
00:05Yeah, and just spending time, like having the whole day, the whole nation is just inside,
00:10having food, like everyone's doing the same thing. Even people who don't celebrate Christmas.
00:15I absolutely love Christmas. I also think that we should keep it as Christmas. People change
00:19the title of it. Putting up the Christmas tree is always a key one. Opening presents,
00:24but my most important part is spending time with friends and family. I love cooking Christmas dinner.
00:29I love friends coming round for Christmas dinner, popping open the champagne and having a good
00:33bite to eat with good company. And if you can repeat that, what a better way to live.
00:38Every Christmas, it's literally a whole family Christmas. And Lynn, there was 14 last year.
00:43So, one of my favourite traditions, which you can definitely say is why, is my mum lets us open a
00:48small present, one small present early. On Christmas Eve, isn't it? On Christmas Eve,
00:53just so then we're not all tearing into a mong Christmas day in New York.
